The Ride of Sorrow.

There you are, sitting on the bench, your head resting on your boyfriend's shoulder, and watching the sun set. The colors of the sky would take even the grouchiest breath away. How the purple mix with the orange, the green slightly dabs the sky, and the yellow highlighting every color. The man pretends to yawn and raps his arm around your waist. You look deeply in his eyes, tangle your fingers in his coal black hair, and smack him with a warm wet kiss. His lips slowly crept down your neck. Then he softly whispered in your ear,"I have something else for you. You did say you like carousels, right?" His warm breath coated your neck, as you nodded.1

He picks you up and walks a few feet. After a few seconds passed he places you down on your feet, and there you saw a carousel. You squealed in delight. You take hold of him and pulled him in line. When it was your turn you both hand the ticket collector your tickets and has a seat in the nearest seat of the ride. As it lifted you up in the air your heart pound against your chest. You can't wait for it to start. And your boyfriend next to you only smiled.2

The ride finally started. It was twirling you faster than a speeding bullet. Once your tears touched your cheek, they automatically turn dry. The air was freezing cold, but you didn't care. You were to busy enjoying the ride. If there wasn't so much noise you would of probably heard that loud creek. Then dust bursted as the mechanism snapped off. You felt light, as you fell out of your seat. Tears streamed down you face. Your boyfriend didn't hesitate, he leaped to you and took you in his embrace. He made his back face the floor, pointing you upwards. Then you bashed your head into his chest, as you fell to the ground. Even if your boyfriend broke your fall you still fell unconscious.3

Once you came to you notice you were in the bed of a hospital. There you saw the face of your pale mother. She cries as she took you in her arms. Her tears stained her shirt. You slowly pull her off and asks her what happened. She tells you, while sniffling, that you were out for a few days, and that the man incharge of the carousel was fired. Then she tells you how lucky you are. Then the images from the ride comes back to you, even the time when your boyfriend caught you and broke your fall. You ask your mother what happened to him, but before you could ask her she steamed out of the room. 4

After they said that you are released from the hospital, your mother takes you to the graveyard. You want to ask her way she is taking you here, but you would rather keep it to yourself. Your mother suddenly grabs your arm and pushes you in front. She stopped you from walking and points you toward a tombstone. Your eyes grew wide as tears filled them, your mouth dropped as you kept mumbling no. You slowly shook your head, and you busted out a pearceful shriek. The reason for all this commotion was, because that tombstone bore the name of your boyfriend.

Author notes

Rosie!

The reason why this is my favorite, so far, is because this story I put my heart in. And this is the only romance, so far, that came out good.

I found this very sweet, yet sad at the end. The first paragraph was romantic and cute. :] I like the irony of how such a seemingly innocent thing (the carousel) can turn so deadly. Good job on that. The end was tragic, but I wish I could have felt A LITTLE bit more emotion; it just felt like it was missing something. Other than that, really great job.

Thanks for entering my contest, and good luck!

Eh. This is okay. Good grammar, but I hate the storyline. So cliche and blah blah blah; you know the drill. I warned you I hate romances.
