Trans-Jenna # part nine

Chapter Two- Part nine #1

The day had finally come when the house had been sold. Papers were signed, forms were copied and within a couple of days, the money was ours. Aunt had decided that even if I didn't want the money, I could probably use it to set up my bedroom, just the way I wanted it, to have my won space. I agreed, only because I still felt bad about Aunt spending alot of her money on me, and in a way she was kinda right. At least they hadn't left me with nothing.2

I sat in the lounge room, looking at the posters that hung on the wall, of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. I watched, sitting quietly, as my fan blew the wall paper of the wall, flickering with each blow from the fan. It was a scorcher of a day, but I didn't care. Today was the day I got my furniture, it was finally coming. The money had come through late last night, and now it was only 15 minutes until they would be here.3

I sipped on Aunts homemade lemonade and waited for the department men to arrive. I was so excited, over furniture. If I had of told anyone at school, they would have thought I was even weirder than they already did, if that was even possible, but like I had come to learn, anything in this world was possible. 4

Though yet again, who would I have to tell anyway, since no one really talks to me, except maybe to borrow a pen, or to copy of my work. Except for maybe Sammy, now , come to think of it, he does talk to me, yet in his case he more or less screams at me, rather then talks, so that wouldn't count, and he didn't scream nice things either. Thanks to him, I was known as Jacky the dumper kid, not Jack, somehow the whole school had found out about my parents leaving me and now it was his latest taunt. Sometimes I just wanted to kick him in the balls and watch him squirm, but I knew I was far better then that.5

Outside I heard the sound of a truck reversing into our driveway. I looked out the window seeing two men jump out a truck and walk towards our door. I jumped up, bolting to the door. Aunt must have heard me jump of the chair, because she came out of her room, standing behind me, while I swung open the door. "You Ms Adams", one of them, roughly asked my Aunt. She nodded, we both stepped outside, walking towards the truck. 6

7

"I have an order here for one bed and one wooden desk with matching draws". I nodded, "Yes that would be". He handed me a form, "Sign here please, in capitals, then you signature in the space provided". I signed the paper eagerly, stepping out of the way as the other man brung the pieces of my bed, into my bedroom.8

I watched as he lay them down, and tapped the other man for help. He nodded, following his partner as they unloaded my beautiful wooden desk and took it inside.9

Once they had taken the rest of my bed inside, they bid us good day and departed on their other rounds of delivery. I slammed the door shut behind them running to my room, and ran my fingers over my brand new desk. My hand crafted from the finest of oak wood, or so the man had said , desk. Though I didn't really give a hoot what it was made from. I owned my very own desk, and a bed, but not any old bed, a new state of the art, fold out futon bed, that doubles as a sofa chair, and a double one at that.10

Aunt stood in the door way, smiling, her hands on her chin. I knew she was trying not to feel my excitement as much as I was. She pushed her hair our of her eyes, "You like them both then", she asked, watching at I ran my hands over my desk for the thousandth time.11

I stood up, running over to her and flung my arms around her, giving her a big ,bear hug. She embraced me with her love, I could feel she was ecstatic for me. "I love them, I love them both, and I love you, how can I ever thank you?.12

She laughed, running her hands through my hair, "you don't have to, you happiness is my pleasure".13

***
"Blue or Grey, Jack", Jaye asked, holding out paint swatches in front of me, waving them in my face. I shoved the cereal in my mouth, trying to avoid the question. Both colors were great, but what color I really wanted was Purple. It was my favorite colors, I guess I was just afraid to ask him, unless he thought I was gay or something.14

15

"Come on Jack, Blue or Grey, or if you don't like Grey or Blue we could always get you black, or yellow, your Aunt would love that",he laughed, laying the swatches on the table.16

I smiled, looking at each paint swatch, trying to decide. I want purple, I want purple, I WANT PURPLE. " I want purpled", I spat out, creating a mess like last time, all over the table. Jaye laughed, "You really need to control that mate", he said, grabbing a dish cloth from the sink. He handed it to me,"You want Purple", he asked, sliding the paint swatches into the bin.17

I nodded, mopping the mess with the dish cloth and took my bowl over to the sink.18

"Alright then Jack, Purple it is, you want Yellow with that, I'm only kidding, you might never get your room back, so I'd advise we don't but hay, it make for one hell of a teen scene".19

I shook my head, 'No I just want Purple, like Lavender, and what did you just say, did you say I could have Purple, or was I just imagining that".20

He shook his head, "No I said you can have it, why would you think I'd say no".21

I frowned, "You don't think it makes me a little gay".22

Jaye smiled. "Why, do you?".23

I shook my head "No, do you".24

Jaye grabbed his pen and his organizer, "Hell no, why would I, If you want Purple, you'll have purple, now I'm of to get you that paint, be good".25

I nodded, "Thanks", I said as he walked out the door, he popped his head around the door, "No sweat Mate".26

***
My room was an open canvas, it was an open canvas to paint my passions on, finally a place to be me, to relax, a space to be free. To be a Purple loving, bookworm, freak. We had done a wonderful job, we had spent the whole week painting my room, Aunt and I, and it was quiet relaxing to finally lye down and embrace the relaxing colors of my walls. The smell of paint, lingering through the room, the light shade of Lavender, it made me sleepy, and reminded me of Aunts garden out the front, with it's various intense flowers, full in blossom.27

It had made My Aunt very happy to watch me paint my way to freedom, for me to be free and not feel like a fool for painting my room Purple. "Who cares Jack, as long as your happy, it is after all your room, your the one who has to live in it, and painting your room purple doesn't make you gay, not that it would even matter if you were , I'm just saying, you know". " Thanks Aunt", I had said, laughing.28

I had to leave the room for a few days afterward to let it dry and to let the smell fade away, but by three days the smell was almost gone, and the walls were perfectly dry. I could finally go back in.29

Jaye had helped me put all the furniture in my room, and he had even given me some of his Elvis posters, to make it feel a bit more like home. I had stuck them, happily above my desk, where I know sat, to my left side of me, a pile of Aunt collection, romance novels lay on the desk. She had given them to me, since I had left all my other books at my old home. Curiosity began to kill the cat, I felt a sudden urge to devour them all. Escaping in the world of fiction.30

I love how he done his room in purple like that! So cool him saying it and getting over his fear of what they might would think of him. I love the descriptions you have through out it the way he was admiring his new desk so much and his feelings on everything. I love this story!

If the parents left him the money from the house, they couldn't have been all bad, right? From him being abandoned, I'm led to assume that they're monsters. Maybe if I had a little info on how they treated him I could better make a judgment on that one.
You briefly mentioned school a few chapters ago. How is his transition going there? I'd like to see more scenes involving how they're treating him. (if you haven't written them already)
I liked the development between the characters in this chapter. They all felt a little more real to me than in previous ones. Still would like to know what the aunt and uncle are feeling. And what was their relationship like with his parents?
