What can I do but let her be?1
She’s stronger than I am anyway2
She fought for her life and earned it more3
Than anyone else upon this world4
Her eyes so hidden behind a mask5
She cannot see the great future she has6
She looks to the past at a battle she’s already won7
Haunted by demons there she doesn’t see8
They hold no sway because she’s free9
A shield of grace she keeps over us all10
Banishing our fear and all it spawns11
But she has her own and we can’t help12
Our warrior angel whose shield defends us13
Locks her away beyond our calls14
Isolated away from us15
She is tempted by darker thoughts16
But she will triumph17
She has done once and will again18
Her steel clad soul cannot be bested19
No matter how those demons test it20
All through the night21
We all can see the stars so bright22
Celestial tears turned to frost23
As the seraphim weep for the sister they’ve lost24
I want to rise above like her25
Stand and fight alongside her26
Her barrier protects but is her nemesis too27
I try my best but can’t get through28
We will never forsake her29
We can never forget her30
Filled with love but also pain31
I struggle against her shield turned cage32
If I scream at the sky can she hear me?33
If I look at the moon can she see me?34
So near to us and yet so far35
It is tragic that she doesn’t know36
Our earthbound angel, how precious you really are
