Catrin Aleah Tegan

The sky was dark the only light a few stars that twinkled in out as dark storm clouds passed in front of them, even the moon was missing, hiding from the blood that ran down through the fields and across the once shining wooden floors. Bodies lay crumpled and broken, hearts still, souls flown away to eternal paradise. The death had happened so fast, no one saw it coming. The destruction of the night on the wings of a dark blood thirsty villain. They all knew it was a possibility, but that it would happen never really broke past their own thoughts, that he one of the creators of their unique blood would come to erase all traces of them and their tainted blood.d The blood he had created even if it was by accident. How could he have known that feeding his blood to the woman would make her his completely his, none of her thoughts where her own, they where all his, his ideals, his morals, his dislikes. Luckily though she had died in child birth, escaping from that life, even though to her nothing was wrong it had been perfect. For the child though a baby boy names Shilo was smuggled away to be raised as a farmer ignorant of his bloodline, until he was man in build and in mind. He took it as a gift and started a family, and now the great, great, great, grandchildren of the man lay dead, killed by the creator of their blood. It seemed there was no life, as the sun finally rose to bathe the blood bath in golden yellow hues, there was life though in the form of a child huddled deep with in the shadows, little fists stuck in her mouth to keep her cries silent. 1

Seemingly blind eyes had watched it all happen, the man, no he was not a man, the vampire had killed indiscriminately enjoying every scream and the taste of blood. Her eyes where red rimmed from tears that had steadily streamed from them coating her face in glistening wetness, she had no idea why she wasn't dead, why she had been looked over or saved by fate. She was eleven and not so clueless as to not know that their was no hope of her mother walking through the door alive and well. In her little child heart she knew that her mother was dead, flies probably already at her corpse. Catrin, yes that was her name, had seen death before it was an everyday thing for a farm girl. Death fed her, the lives of the chickens snuffed out with a blow to the head, or the cows they killed only when necessary. She shook her head long locks of block flying around her head at the violence of the shake, her hair was longer then necessary but her mother had loved to braid it done her back and talk about how she wished her hair was thick and long like her only child's. Catrin's father would just smiled and comment on how her mother was still beautiful to him. Her fists finally left her mouth as she let out a long cry of anguish that echoed off the wooden walls and filtered out the doors and windows, a cry that seemed to be pain and sorrow embodied. It settled thick upon the window sills and floor boards thick with blood of relatives and friends. She cried out again, before standing slowly her legs shaking from the sudden flow of blood, she had spent hours kneeling huddled in the dark shadows of the staircase. Thin shoe clad feet made there way tenderly around the pools of blood and corpses, the smell already starting to fill the crisp morning hair, her sobs and the songs of birds the only sounds around the small compound of homes. Once outside of the building she had been in, she collapsed at the site of her father, his crumpled form lay near the well limbs obviously broken, his once handsome face now a mask of black and blue and swollen flesh. 2

Hands shook as she gripped the ground cursing the vampire that had taken everything her mind now turning to anger and thoughts of revenge. she was young but she would do what it took to kill the man that had caused her so much pain in one night. She Catrin Aleah Tegan would kill him... she would make him suffer, she would rip his still beating heart out and crush it. He would be just like her.

    Good

I think it was wonderfully descriptive and I totally love the name Catrin. Its a very good start to a story and very captivating. It does need some proof reading though, I noticed some punctuation mistakes, mostly in run on sentences or a missing comma here and there. Great job.
