I've been led to believe that I should be ashamed of who I am,1
It's like everyone I've met is out to change me,2
Change is good.3
If I mold into exactly what they want what type of person will that make me?4
I always run into the types that are very aggressive,5
How can I expect to be respected ?6
I look at myself and I'm ashamed of my reflection.7
I feel as though I open my heart to the world and yet no one loves me,8
Am I trying too hard or is this god's way of punishing me?9

First off let me tell you this. Don't let someone make you feel belittled you are who you are and someday a man like myself will love you for who you really are. Don't change yourself for someone else because in the end that won't be what they want and by then it'll be too late for you because you'll have lost yourself.

I myself have felt this way in the past.So many times.Till recently I felt just like this.A friend or two or more on here have shown me what i was missing.I also hope you have angels on here to show you all YOU are.You are more then you credit yourself for.Please look up....it is the only way to see the sun after all.

Thanks so much for commenting on my piece. Change is good when I want to change but not only because someone wants you to change your whole persona. I respect myself too much to mold for anyone else again. I must do what I do for me.

This piece really touched me because I remember a time when I felt like everyone was trying to fit me into this mold of what they thought I should be or they wanted me to be regardless of who I really was inside or what I wanted. The thing to remember is that YOU are the one who has ultimate control over who you let influence you and manipulate you. Just be yourself. There is only one you. You are are unique.
