Foreword:1
This is essentially a story about a planet. 2
Prologue:3
It was a disco ball.4
I say this purely because that is what it most resembled and not because it was really a disco ball. 5
A disco ball is not really a ball at all, it is a rather odd three dimensional shape that does quite strongly resemble a ball but in fact, is made up of hundreds of tiny flat surfaces, on the inside and the outside.6
It was not a disco ball. It was a planet made up of hundreds of flat surfaces on the inside and outside. Each surface was its own world, for the people and environment there would never dare to see what was over the horizon. Unlike other planets in the galaxy, this one was not filled with brave navigators that would set out over the edge of the planet simply just to see what was there. So each face of this planet was on its own.7
Each face had its own culture, its own climate (for even the weather was not quite brave enough), its own species of flora and fauna and most importantly, each face had its own people.8
Because of the strange way that this planet was lived on, it never received a name (which it was rather unhappy about), that is, until its dying day. So for the sake of writing this chronicle, we will use its swansong name, but of coarse will shorten it to is nick name, NeverMind. The story behind the name will be told but I won’t be telling it until its appropriate time. This of course brings me to me.9
From the beginning of the life of NeverMind I have been assigned the task of recording everything that occurs on NeverMind. Over the millennia I have written volume after volume (I really do recommend Volume 70, interesting decade that was) of the lives of all the animals, people, plants and even NeverMind itself. However, now that it is gone I have decided to mount all this into one simple, easy to read volume named NeverMind. So without further a due, here it is.10

With one last moan of pain and relief, the galaxy pushed out NeverMind, and put it in between, Gernath and Ka!nath- two of the galaxies most favourite planets. Like most other planets NeverMind was given a star which it named Sun, (mostly because everyone else was doing it (planets are very susceptible to peer pressure)) and people to live on it.14
NeverMind was a hollow planet and was the first of its kind. It was for this reason that the galaxy prized it so highly. The flat surfaces that made up the planet were not that deep as the make as much room for the people on the inside to live happily without looking up to see someone else looking down at you.15
The science and mathematics involved in making this planet had taking eons to solve and seeing that it had worked made the galaxy rather happy. It had spent most of its precious time trying to work out how to make a planet have had a gravitational pull to the centre so that the people on the out side would stay on the outside… but also have a gravitational push outwards to keep the people on the inside from falling into the middle (It ended up with the hollow disco ball with internal and external mini-star design after twenty failed attempts at other shapes like cubes and spheres). 16
In finally figuring out how to do this the planet could now have twice as much population then any other planet its size. However, the galaxy, for all its might and overpowering presence, could not foresee what would happen to the population. It had expected that the culture would grow fabulously and the people would unite simply because of the large amount of them. But instead the outside population chose to restrict themselves to the face that they were on. Not wanting to go over and see what was over the edge, they stranded themselves on there side. The population on the inside fought with the neighbouring faces that were immediately adjacent to them and invaded and took them over. Eventually, only seven original faces were left but each civilisation that belonged to that face had spread around the inside of the planet to make seven mass nations that were in constant turmoil with each other. 17
It was around this time, 3 millennia into the life of NeverMind, that Bernice started to dig.

It is not finished, but it will be soon.

awesome!
really interesting plot and a very good discritpion... though there is some grammatic errors but *shrugs* everyone needs a good beta!
lol
anyway, i like it... the whole idea. Esp. how you symbolized the planet with a disco ball!
points for that because i never really thought of a disco ball like that!
its really great i must say... how your mind works. Creating ideas such as these by looking at the ordianry things that we see everyday!
awesome story dude!
just perfectly awesome!

Interesting
This was a very original idea, (Not the planet dying thing ) But the recording of a planet has not been seen in awhile. Though a low word count, it still explains a lot.
I hate to say this, because I too have this problem, but you repeat yourself several times. : ) I do it too. lol.
One other thing, A due is spelled Adue. It's one word, ( French ) and it can be confusing, I know. Especially because most word processors don't know it's one word. Mine does, but a lot of the cheaper DOWNLOAD ME NOW processors don't.
I don't have much bad to say on this story, except the beginning was just a tad boring. Sorry. But I really didn't get interested till the second part when you really started talking about the planet.
Cool Idea and Great Job!
