Pause

The air was crisp, the sky was clouded, the leaves were falling slowly. Slowly...1

Jessica walked to her long lost friend, slowly...slowly. She was stopping to look up, absorbing the atmosphere. Taking her time. Not the Jessica Lora knew.2

Lora walked towards her long lost friend, her steps paced. Looking forwards. Always forward. She never looked down, never up, never stopping. Just forward, her hands stuffed into her pockets. Not the Lora Jessica knew. 3

The two approached each other, Jessica straightening up. Her hair was down, a sea of flowing gold. Lora's straight black hair was, of course, in a bun.4

"You've changed... Your hair. It's...blonde?"5

"Yes, and I quite like it now. You've changed as well? Eight years has been much too long." 6

"Yes. It has."7

The two long lost friends paused, then continued along their seperate paths.8

Jessica thinking to herself; "Just another clone now, I suppose."
Lora muttering; "What has she become?"9

It's sad when someone you know becomes someone you knew.10

Wow! This had me remembering people I once knew. It is very sad when someone you knew, that was a close friend, changes so much... becomes someone you no longer know. I would love to know what happened in her life that changed her so much. This is a wonderful little piece, but it has the potential to be SO much more! I would love to see you expand this. Great work... I've never read anything that hit me like this so quickly and with so few words.
