Knight of the Tigress of Chapter 7

Michael drove KITT into the semi, he was facing a hurricane of a case that was about to engulf him, into the heart of the storm. 1

Devon sat in the red chair near the round table. “Michael, I’ve made a fresh pot of coffee for you.” 2

Michael opened KITT’s door and stood up as he his head began to spin. He closed door trying to keep his balance.3

Bonnie noticed that he was pale. “Michael, are you all right?”4

He raised his hand. “I just need some coffee and Bonnie.” He paused. “Thanks.”5

He walked over to the coffee pot, then took his cup and poured out the hot and steaming black coffee into his cup. Then he pulled out one of the red relaxing chairs from the round table. Devon sat across from him, as he drank from his cup of tea too. The feeling of relaxation fled while the feeling of tension came in.6

“What happened to you last night? You did not answer any of my calls for you,” Devon said.7

“I went to see Helen last night because I had some questions.”8

Devon sat and watched Michael for a few moments. “What is wrong?”9

Michael stood up and began to pace back and forth. “Everything; Helen gave me some information of the six boxes that were stolen from Galaxies Corporation. It wasn’t computers as we thought. It is six boxes of Altering Personality drugs, for some unknown buyers.”10

“What else happened? I know the police asked you questions about Mr. Dimes’ murder.”11

“More like a suspect… I was set up to take the fall.”12

“Are you sure? You were cleared of all the charges.”13

“Devon, the woman I’ve been dealing with isn’t Helen. The real Helen died sometime ago. This case doesn’t make any sense to me!” Michael turned away to look at the orange wall. “I had KITT to analyze the sample for me and according to KITT's data banks, it can do just that.” He turned around towards Devon.14

Devon walked over to a computer’s console, which hooked to the larger computer behind Michael. He typed in the commands for KITT to transfer all the data to his screen. Within a few seconds, KITT had transferred the entire file to the screen. Devon read the information that was before him, the color in his cheeks faded away while leaving him white as a ghost.15

After a few moments, he said, “I thought these files were destroyed a long time of ago, and somehow they got past her.” 16

Michael just looked at Devon with a blank look on his face. “What is going on here?” 17

“A company over in Europe designed this very drug. I had our best overseas operative on the case; and they must have gotten past her, somehow.”18

Michael just stood there, tried to absorb in all the information as he felt the danger level rising again. All at once, Devon came back to reality, and looked directly into Michael's eyes.19

“You must find these drugs and the data so that these drugs can be destroyed once again. So they are never used to hurt innocent people!” 20

“These drugs can change a moral person into a person without morals?”21

“Yes. They are known as A.P. drugs. They can make an evil person into a righteous person or make a righteous person into an evil person. There is one side effect; it kills within 72 hours after the full effect took place. However; no one knows how long that process takes.”22

“These drugs could literally change our world events like make war or peace, depending on what hand these drugs are in.” Michael realized how dangerous and complex this case had just become. “That’s why Claw wants to find Tigress. She has the information to stop Claw.”23

“Claw? When did she show up?” Devon demanded.24

“I found out last night, while I was handcuffed to a chair. She used Helen’s identity to get to me, so that she can find Tigress."25

Devon got up from his chair, started to walk to the mini kitchen of the semi, and then he stopped. Michael watched Devon turned as he brought his hands near his mouth.26

“Go get Jamie and bring her back here. I’ll call Chloe at the hotel to have her pack their things.” Devon paused and looked at Michael. “I believe that you and KITT need another partner, until this case is solved.” 27

Michael walked away from Devon to get another cup of coffee. 28

“Devon, you know how I feel about having another person working with me. I do know in the past, that I’ve work with a few people, on different cases. On this one, I believe another person would just get in my way.” 29

Devon sat in his chair to think. “No. You’re going to need help. Claw is a dangerous woman who loves murdering operatives just for the sport of it.”30

Michael gave out a huge sigh. “She knows about Garthe too.”31

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner!”32

He held his cup in his hand. “I didn’t want to worry you until I had more pieces of the puzzle.”33

“Jamie is in great danger!” Devon rose from his chair. “You must go and get her, now.”34

“What’s her role in all this?”35

Devon took a huge breathe in. “She is Tigress.”36

“Explains a lot, I’ll go and get them both.” He set his cup on the table.37

“Michael, Jamie is at the hospital with her family. Her aunt is battling cancer.”38

“I’ll go there, then pick up Chloe and take them to the Foundation.”39

“We’ll meet you there.” Devon rose from the chair, grabbed the red phone from the table, and walked to the mini kitchen.40

Michael walked over to KITT and Bonnie. She put away her tools and KITT’s hood was still up. Michael stood there and watched her. Bonnie heard the conversation, while working on KITT. 41

He folded his arms across his chest. “How is KITT doing?” Michael asked.42

Bonnie returned to KITT to push down his hood and made sure it was tight for him. “KITT will be fine. I’m wondering are you going to be fine?” she asked. 43

Michael gave her a concern look. “I’ll be very careful on this case, I promise.”44

“Devon and I worry about you and KITT, and there are times I think you don't care that we do! For example, last night the little stunt, that you pulled doesn’t help matters any bit!” Bonnie yelled. 45

“Yes, I know that you and Devon worry about us. But, there are some things that Devon hasn’t told me about this case, and I need to know them!” 46

“The information about Jamie is forbidden, and it isn’t by his choice! He won’t break his word to the board of directors, unless he has no other choice!” 47

“How do you know all this?” he whispered as he just looked into her big soft blue eyes. “You got a point there.”48

“One day I overheard his conversation to the director of the board. He requested some information…”49

“Jennifer had it blocked.”50

“You’re going to have to trust Devon's wisdom, about this case.” 51

“Your right,” Michael said, as he kissed her on her cheek. “I’ll be careful and I promise to stay in touch.” He walked away from her.52

Then Michael hopped into KITT's driver seat, shut the door, and he turned on the engine. Bonnie watched the semi’s door open. Michael turned his head and then he drove out of the semi. Bonnie stood there, watched the door close and she said a prayer for them.
