Summer Camp

Summer Camp

School is over, and here is summer. Friends from the school are going to summer camp so that they could spend even more time with each other, and they are excited for summer camp. When it was the 1st day of summer camp, it started to rain real badly. It was foggy and windy, but the friends still wanted to go. The friends are not happy now, but hopefully there will be some fun when they get there. The summer camp is located at the woods, and there are cabins. One cabin is very large, and that cabin is for meetings.

Drip, drip, drip. Clover and Kate were dripping wet. All of the kids in summer camp are 12 except for the staff of course. Clover as always over reacts like she usually does. She is a drama queen, and Kate ignores that she is soaking wet, and tries to calm Clover, Then Kate and Clover’s other friends arrived, and they were dripping wet too. Alexis May, Sam, Alex, and Anna came over to them, and waved hi to them. They were happy now that they were all here, and they started to talk to each other.

“Look at me! I’m a mess! I can’t look like this on my first day of summer camp!” cried Clover.

“Stop acting like a drama queen, Clover,” Sam said to her in an annoyed tone. “She is always like this,” Sam thought to herself.

“Look on the bright side, Clover. We are all dripping wet so no one is going to tease you, and tomorrow you could dress and look your best!” May said happily with a giggle to Clover.

“May, you are so optimistic. It helps a lot when I am so sad. Thank you!” Clover said to May.

“I wonder what we are going to do in summer camp. This first day didn’t start off good at all, but hopefully we will have fun later!” said Anna.

“Well, the rain is not that bad. Still, it will prevent us from having activities outside with all the fog, wind, and rain,” Alex said to all her friends.

After everyone got at the large cabin for the meeting, a guy from the staff who is the boss rang a bell. Then clearly and loudly he said, “Quiet down! Quiet down! Attention! Welcome to the summer camp. Now, I understand some of you are new here, and I know you will have fun here. We will have trips, activities, and so much more!” said the boss and he continued introducing and explaining to the kids what they will do in summer camp. There were exactly 14 new kids to the summer camp. The new kids are seven girls and seven boys. The kids were placed in groups to be cabin roommates, and since there were so many kids in summer camp 7 kids have to be together in the cabin. Luckily, the cabin is big enough for seven kids. Sam May, Alexis, Clover, Alexis, Kate, and Anna are the 7 new girls to the summer camp, and they are lucky that the 7 of them are roommates. The seven new boys are friends, are roommates, and their names are Jake, Tom, Edward, Ron, Leo, Chris, and Nick.

The girls were chatting, laughing, playing games in their cabin, but Anna was writing in her journal. This is what she was writing in her journal:

Dear Journal,

Today was a terrible start because it was raining. It was foggy and windy, and my friends and I were dripping wet. A guy from the staff who seems like the boss introduced us to the summer camp, and told us what we were going to do in summer camp. He told us that we are going to have roommates, and I got my friends. Just six other people, and that’s enough for me. Then we started playing indoor games because it was terrible outside. It got better by the night, but it’s still windy. Outside is so dark, and the only light we get is from the cabin, moon, and stars that are shining so beautifully tonight. We went into the cabin after we finished the indoor activities. My friends are the same like they were before. Alexis still seems like the fearless and courageous girl. May is still optimistic, and Sam still got an answer for everything. She is a very smart girl. Alex told us she was a vegetarian for 3 years and still is, and she is still the nature girl. Clover is still the drama queen, and over reacts to everything. Kate still works hard, and puts effort into everything she does. I hope tomorrow will be better. It will be cool if I could sneak out of this cabin, and have a little adventure. My friends seems like they are having fun. I should join them, and maybe tomorrow could be the adventure.

Now, it’s the last week of July, and the last week of summer camp. It’s rainy, foggy, dark, and windy again like the first day of summer camp. This time it started at nighttime. It was great, and Anna still didn’t have her adventure. She wrote in her journal, and this is what she wrote:

Dear Journal,

Summer camp was fun, and we had a couple of trips. We went to the museums, parks, and Connecticut, and a few more other places. Still no adventure! It’s the last week of summer camp. I came to this summer camp for adventure, too. I will try tonight for the adventure, and I will not get caught.

Anna changed into comfy clothes, and packed into her book bag some food, first-aid kit, flashlight, batteries, water, and her journal. When Anna was about to leave the cabin, her friends ask her she was going.

“Hey, Anna! Where are you going?” Alex asked Anna.

“Yeah, where are you going?” Clover, Alexis, Kate, May, and Sam asked.

“Uuuhhh… I was going to go outside, and see if its better,” said Anna very slowly.

“Just look outside the window, and no. Outside is not any better, and it’s even worse,” Anna’s friends said.

“Fine! I’m going on a little adventure,” Anna said.

“We are coming with you!” Anna’s friends said.

Then Anna’s friends changed their clothes, and packed up the same things as Anna. Then they went deeper into the woods and farther away from the cabins. It was a whole lot of fun. They got wet, saw some animals, and met the 7 new boys who were new to the summer camp. They were on an adventure just like them, and they went on the adventure together. They saw little caves, and explored them. It was dark inside, but the girls had flashlights. They found little treasures, and then they got stuck in the cave. They found a way out, and they came back to their cabins. The staff found them before they went into their cabins.

They got punished, and they had to clean up, help the staff, and they can’t attend the activities. The last day of summer camp was when their punishment was over. The boys and the girls play squirt gun, and it was fun because they have to dodge the water and try to aim water at the others. Their first time at a summer camp, and they can’t wait for the next summer so they could go to summer camp again.

I wished we had summer camp here in Australia. I always wanted to go to Summer Camp.

Anyway good story. A little bit of grammar mistakes, other than that,I really enjoyed it.
