Lost Shore

"Yo!'
Someone kicked Heather.
"Dude!"
She finally gave in and opened her eyes The pain from the free-for-all cliff fall was still there, though she had lost all memory of the fall.
"What are you doing here?"
She looked up to see who it was. She was staring into the purple eyes of a young man or woman, she couldn't tell which.
"I said, what are you doing here?"
Defiantly female.
"Hey, Ame! Did you meet her?"
"This little runt here?"
"Yeah."
"Such a tiny little-"
"Well then..."
Heather noticed it was the same blue hooded person as before.
She looked around.
Pretty much everyone was wearing the same article of clothing, some sporting other acessories.
"Well if that's the case, we better show this little bitc- I mean, girl, to Warashi then. If she will be staying here. Not that I want her to...."
"Ame, please be sensible. You know she won- Well then, lets shove off."2

"That building has got to be the most pretentious thing I have ever seen..." Heather said as they approached the building.
It was almost castle like, with aging towers and maze like hallways that could be seen outide. Millons of little red flags rested on the rooftops.
"Well he is an important person. All the noobs report to him." Ame told her.
"Nice wording on your part." the man told her. He then turned to face heather.
"By the way, I'm Waas."
"Waas? Like Wa-ahs?"
"Yes."
"Now come on, hurry up." Ame told the two. "You know what happened to Hyun when she was late. Come on now, hurry on."3

Heather looked up at the giant castle doors. She was slightly nervous - where was her family anyway? Where was she, anyway? Who or what is the Warashi? 5

Heather leaned over to ask Ame these questions.6

"Where am I?"7

Ame glanced over at Heather, then looked away, seemingly ignoring her. Ame raised a giant fist and pounded on the door. Once. Twice. Three times.8

"I get it, you bastard! Quit knocking and come in!" A voice from inside yelled at Ame.
"Told you they were rude and deadly." Ame whispered to Heather, then pushed open the heavy doors. They made a loud groan, revealing a room very much the same as outside. It had a red carpet heading up to a chair with stone walls on all sides. It was almost completely bare, except for some home improvement items.
Heather looked at the chair.
"It's....It's...IT'S JUST A TINY LITTLE PIPE-FOX SPIRIT!" She then burst out laughing as Ame and Waas stared at her.
The spirit took notice and the plant right near Heather burst into flames, and Heather's laugh was cut short. It burned the plant to a crisp, then went out.
"You want that to be you?" it asked her.
Heather shook her head quickly, with a look of fear on her face.
"OMG!" she then yelled.
"OMG?" Ame asked, and still stared.
"It means oh my god, but I had to say OMG." Heather replied, her features still in freak out mode.
"How sporky...." Ame said to her, then turned to the pipe-fox.
"Now-"
"I know, she arrived by falling off the cliff and- being rescued by us." The spirit inturrupted her.
"NOW LEAVE!"10

The first thing Heather noticed when they walked out of the castle were the walls. She felt stupid for not noticing them before - they loomed over the town ,casting shadows over the small houses and shops.11

"Stupid Warashi," Ame muttered under her breath. "What a whiner."12

Waas laughed at Ame, but Heather ignored them both. She looked down - the castle appeared to be the highest part of the town. Below her she could see a town - the roofs made of straw, the people looking almost like ants. 13

"Hellllloooo?" Ame said, waving a hand in front of Heathers face. "I said I'll help you find your family."14

Heather stared at Ame. "Where are we? I expect an answer this time."15

Ame stared at Heather - her stringy hair, her now tattered and dirty clothes. 16

"We are in Lifeless Sanctuary," Ame replied, staring out at the wall. 17

"What's up with the walls?"18

Ame laughed. Apparently, this was funny. "They keep out the ghosts, of course~"19

And with that, Ame and Waas turned, laughing, and skipped down the steps towards the town.20

Heather followed hesitantly. 21

"Now then, it's nine 'o clock, I'm tired, I wanna go home, NOW." Ame said, in a angry tone, giving Heather a pout.
Heather noticed it was directed to her, and asked, "What?"
"Here." Ame said, extending it to Heather. "You're coming with me tonight. Or you die."
"Okay then."22

It was 10:00, and Heather thought she could see a hint of civilization.
"How long to your pad?" Heather asked.
"Pad? You mean house?"
"Same thing."
Only a few more-here we are!" Ame said and pointed over towards a small 4-room house.
"That's it?" Heather asked.
"Yes. My bedrooms on the top, right above you. To then, the bathroom, kitchen, and the living room is in conjunction with the kitchen."
"Fascinating. Let’s go in."
"Wipe your feet first."
"Wipe your feet my butt" Heather muttered, staring at her feet.
"Excuse me?"
"Nothing, really."
Heather thought she saw Ame's eyes go red. Super-advanced humans....she thought to herself.
"Hey, Ame, what are you?"
Ame briskly turned to Heather. "If I said it, you wouldn't believe me."
"Yes I would."
"I'm a ghost." Ame rushed.
"Really? I'm not buying it."
As she said that, Ame walked back until she was a good 10 feet from the house, and plunged forward fast. Heather didn't see her go in. Or when she came back out.
"Trust me, I'm not human. And tomrrow, you won't be either." 23

"What?" Heather stared at Ame. "What do you mean, you're not human?"24

"I mean-" Ame began25

"Shoot!" Waas broke her off. "It's already sunset!"26

Ame started off at the wall. Orange beams of light from the sun still shone over it - but not for long.27

"Crap!" Ame shouted as she grabbed Heather's hand. The three of them sprinted down the steps. 28

Heather tried to take in as much of the town as she could as they weaved through the houses - Where were all the people?29

Ame made a sharp turn, Heather almost tripping. 30

"Quick! In there!" Waas yelled, pointing at an old decrepit house in front of them. Ame let go of Heathers hand, then, without warning, kicked down the door.31

Waas grabbed Heather this time, scooping her up in his arms and running inside after Ame. Almost as soon as they got in, Ame began piling things in front of the door.32

"What's going on?" Heather asked, slightly flustered. 33

"Shh."34

Waas stared past Heather, out the window. Heather followed his gaze...35

Cloaked figures - a dozen, maybe, were patrolling past the house. They looked almost translucent in the last rays of the sun.36

Heather pulled herself closer to Waas.37

Suddenly, one of the clocked figures turned to look at the window. It's face was shadowed by the hood, but beady white eyes stared out at them...38

Can it see us? 39
