A sleek, sporty, yet futuristic automobile sped down the highway, its halogen headlights gleaming, burning embers in the black ashes of the night. On its front end was a rectangular slot of which a red chaser light was fitted into. The car itself was a blood-red, not a choice color for a stealth crimefighter, but it had made quite a sensation at the Seattle Auto Show.1
Inside the vehicle, its driver was reclined in the seat, fast asleep as the car drove itself down the lonely road. Her name was Shawn McCormick, a relatively attractive ex-policewoman. The car's computer turned its attention towards her as she moved her right foot away from the gas pedal. The computer wasn't like any other. It, or 'he,' as its creators called it, was a highly intelligent supercomputer, that, through its top-level intellectual capacity, had developed a sort of personality. His name was Kitt - or KITT, Knight Industries Two Thousand - and he was always on the lookout for his driver. There were no cars around for him to dodge, so he had turned his full thought over to his driver. It was strange how they had met. 2
After the leader of the Seattle Foundation had shut Kitt down for a while, they had sold off some of his parts. Somehow, one of his memory chips ended up in Shawn after she took a near-fatal shot and had a computer chip installed to replace what she had lost of her brain capacity. She still had some of Kitt's memories, but that was only part of the reason she was still his driver. They had been on a mission to get rid of a dangerous criminal in Seattle, and over that mission, she had grown attached to Kitt. Besides, they needed each other. Kitt needed her for his memories, and she needed him to help her cope with some of them.3
Kitt focused on the road. It was a good thing he did, because he had to slow down for a car ahead. They were approaching a somewhat congested part of the highway, and it would take some concentration to get through it. Fortuantely, they wouldn't have to deal with it for too long, since Kitt could just take the canals home. That being the plan, they would be home soon, Kitt back to his warm, cozy garage and Shawn would be back to her apartment.

Welcome to StoryWrite
Definately an interesting bit of fan fiction. I was always a fan of Kitt car in the original knight rider series. Ya just can't have to much of a car like that
I enjoyed the read, again, welcome to the site. -
Y'ello.
Cool introduction. It explained everything pretty clearly and an interesting storyline with a lot of possibilities.
The question is eternally: what happens next?

You know I've heard of Knight Rider but I've never actually seen it? Well even though I don't know anything about the show I thought this was a great beginning. Good job.
