A cry at Midnight: CHAPTER TWO

Sonyia slammed the door to her office and looked around the small room. "Why must this killer know me?" she said to herself as she walked to her desk where all the crime scene photos were laying. She picked some of the photos up and started at them hoping that they talk back to her. "Please give me something." she begged the pictures. 1

Lucas hesitated before opening Sonyia's office door so he knocked and then stepped in. "Hey Skye what are you doing? Figure out the crime yet?" he asked jokingly but saw the look on her face and wanted to take it back. "Very funny Williams but people are dying out there because WE cant figure this out." she snapped at him and looked back at the photos, "What are we missing?" Lucas went to her side and looked at them over her shoulder. "Well not much. They are all females with long hair that's red. And the same message is on the wall written in the victim's blood." Lucas answered and sighed. Sonyia nodded and sighed also putting the pictures down. She looked at him as he sat in the seat opposite her. "Williams can I ask a personal question?" she asked uncertain of the answer. Lucas nodded and watched her "Of course Sonyia we both are friends." Sonyia smiled softly and asked "Why don't you find me attractive? Is it because I am your partner or am I ugly or..." Lucas almost feel out of his chair and started at her "Sonyia you are the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen. You are far from ugly." he said to her telling the absolute truth. Sonyia smiled and before she could say anything the Capitan yelled and motioned for them to come in his office. "Damn it what did we do?" Sonyia said as she got up and looked at Lucas as they moved to the captain's office.2

April walked down the street to get to her apartment. As she walked she put her long brown hair up and felt someone following her. She looked over her shoulder and began to walk quicker. As she turned the corner a hand reached out from behind her and put a gloved hand to her mouth. A masculine voice whispered in her ear "Take me to your place now or you will die here." April nodded quickly and tried to focus on walking with the man right behind her and she walked to her apartment and walked up the staries with him right behind her and she got to her door then opened it. She turned to let the man in and gasped in horror as she realized who it was. Judge Melendur smiled evilly at her and slammed the door shut and dragged her to the bedroom where he tore off her clothes and lay on the bed. He then rapped her and grabbed his knife and began to torture her and left the same message on the wall in her blood. He watched as she bleed to death and kissed her cold lips with a smile and fixed his outfit and washed his knife off. John walked back into the room and smiled evilly and the body "Tell Sonyia that I will get her." He walked out of the apartment and down the hall and out of the building and no one noticed a thing.3

The captain's phone rang as he was yelling at the two idiot detectives that couldn't figure out what was wrong. "Yes...I see... I will send my two detectives to investigate. Yes have them show there also." he said into the phone and Lucas and Sonyia watched him. The Captain growled softly as he slammed the phone down then looked at Williams and Skye. "Another murder you two. Find something, we need to catch this jerk." he said to them and Sonyia and Lucas quickly grabbed their things and left to go investigate.4
