1. What's you're name and do you like it, why or why not? (If you don't want to use your real name, username is absolutely fine!)

I chose my username out of the blue by typing the two words that first came out of my fingers and not even second-thinking them; sticking with me for four years now. My real name, though, was chosen using a more “normal” process, which was Dad reading a book and seeing the name Meghan and thinking: “Wow, it has an H in it. I might name my first daughter that.”

2. Do you like animals? Why, why not? What's your favorite? (Anything in there. More the better, remember!)

I kiss my cats all the time and throw them on top of stuff. They land, make angry faces at me, and try to go back to sleep. Somebody once told me that I resemble a red panda, just because just because. My friend looks like a flamingo because he’s tall and turns pink easily. I think I resemble a furry snake that likes to hug people (not around the neck.) I want to see a whale give birth one day; my friend’s mom says it’s a blessing to witness ocean births like that. I just think life in itself is fascinating.

3. Do you have any siblings? If not, what about your parents? How do you feel about these people?

I have a younger sister whose personality is nearly opposite of mine, but we communicate decently enough. I got over the hating-your-‘rents stage a while ago, but I still get teenage-angsty sometimes because my hormones are weird. My mom’s loud and parties a lot. My dad reads UFO books. I like to spend time away from them.

4. Do you know me? (Hah. I like that one.)

Not personally. Hello thar.

5. Where do you live? (This is optional. I understand some people might not want to answer it. I live in the U.S.!)

I live on a Pacific island. I like to pretend I’m white. There are lots of dogs here and people who smile for the camera. I bought a newspaper so I could wack myself with it, and saw lots of beauty pageant being advertised. Cars go twenty-five miles per hour. I stay up late at night, so geckos crawl on the outside of my window to wait for moths that’d be attracted to my bedroom light. Geckos look like kittens. Sometimes I play so much Animal Crossing (you may laugh) that, when I see my pets, they look like they’re about to talk / scream at me to do chores. People eat bananas and mutated potatoes. I really do think they’re mutated; potatoes probably floated from South America to here and started growing all salty in the mountains. Teachers laugh when my classmates snort pixie sticks. Yep – that’s where I live.

6. Do you like music, and if so, how do you relate it to your writing?

Sounds in music don’t do much for me; the lyrics I can feel more. When I get a new CD, I have to memorize all the lyrics (if they’re that inspirational), which usually leads to me writing something driven by the emotions those songs transmit. Like, what could make a song perfect is it being jumbled and broad yet subtlety talking about one feeling; so it looks like a huge brain-storming tree with clouds dozing at the corners but everything still touching that one feeling. That keeps my brain organized and imaginative at the same time. And that’s how music relates to my writing.

7. What is your favorite thing to write?

Dreams; you can’t go wrong. Nobody should be out to judge the pure essence of your deepest thoughts and desired sceneries. Nothing is more personal, or comfortable, for me.

8. Are you a people person?

I hate groups of people and I hate group work. I’d rather do things by myself because communication is a chore in itself. I just do not like the “rules” of socializing – I don’t believe in behaving myself in case someone else’s pet peeves run wild. I don’t believe in censoring my point of views just so others’ feelings won’t get hurt. Why should all those silly consequences be my responsibility? I can accept anybody and it’s only their fault if they don’t accept me. Trust me, it’s hard to find somebody I can relate and talk to, but I know they’re out there. I just don’t feel the need to socialize as much.

9. Do you seem to have a lot of REAL friends?

I have more than three, yes. I trust people too easily and I open up too fast, but there’s nothing to be scared of, really.

10. How do you feel about war?

Nobody ever “wins” a war. It’s about how much the other team is hurt and how much they can’t handle. From all the money America’s spent on the War on Terrorism, they could’ve just bought every single person in Iraq a car. That would settle things, I think, and it’d be funny. You can’t fight against fighting because it makes things worse, and we all know about that in our daily lives (fights with parents or coworkers, etc.) I hope wars are just a phase of the human race and that our minds and ways of reasoning will evolve for the better as the centuries pass us by.

11. Why do you like StoryWrite?

The Chatterbox is addicting. Chat addiction is in my DNA somewhere. Other than that, it’s just another website with gothy lesbian teenagers.

12. What got you into writing?

Honestly, I was 12, bored one summer, and I bought Placebo CDs. Listening to the lyrics made me want to read a dictionary, and whenever I’d spot a pretty word I’d write it down. Then I started stringing words together, producing lines of colourful messiness. It made me happy just seeing that, so I started going on a surreal poetry binge, and listening to more music and trying to model my subjects after them. Then I got into Bjork, who supports emotional freedom, which made me realize that there are no limits. That concept excelled my writing the most: there are no limitations to your thoughts.

13. Do you have a friend here that you really, really love?

I love my friends in general. Adding anymore to that could lead to serious subconscious jealousy fights.

14. Does your writing seem to affect the people around you?

My English and creative writing teachers say that they feel refreshed/glad after reading what I write. Of course that's normal for a teacher because it makes them feel proud of their mad teaching skillz. I made friends through my writing, so that’s a good sign of it affecting them.

**15. Why do you write?

It’s another hobby to be judged by, but this hobby makes me feel proud of myself in the end. I tend to get depressed every now and then, which naturally makes me stay indoors, and what else is there to do but write a bunch of crap that doesn’t make sense to me? Writing is productive somehow, but I need a better excuse than that… Hmm… You know how, after reading a book that made you cry, you feel this weird energy in you that says, “You gotta let me out; I could change the world,” so you spill it on Microsoft Word, and somebody sees it, so they spill responses, because it’s just that good? I write because I’m compelled to. Some pretty little unnatural forces make me do it. The end

This was very awesome, you did great.

    What I noticed, though...

There were two Meghans (they were spelled differently...lol...) that entered my contest that don't like their names because their parents just randomly named them that....they don't really mean anything personally. Hers was because her mom saw it in movie credits yours was because dad read a book with that name

Sorry, I just HAD to say that.

So anyway. This was an AWESOME entry! So much you had to say. Perfect.

thank you SO much for taking the time to enter, and good luck!!!

    xxoxo
