Saving Pandora

‘What?!’ Danny shouted as he opened the door, someone had been pounding on it for the past five minutes not giving up on the fact he wasn’t going to answer. When he saw Cordi standing there wet from the torrential rain splashing down on the wet roads he struggled to find words.

‘Sorry I didn’t feel like talking to anyone. What is wrong, how come you are out in the rain?’ He asked in what he hoped was a friendly tone, he had no intentions of talking to anyone after seeing Helena’s dad who had given them both a really hard time.

‘You have to come with me, Audrey isn’t here so you will have to do.’ Cordi grabbed his arm pulling him into the rain, he was shirtless and pulled back.

‘Wait what do I need to do, and where are we going?’ Reaching inside the door to his messy one room apartment Danny grabbed a black ACDC shirt and pulled it over his well toned body. ‘Cordi answer me.’

‘Helena called me, she wasn’t meant to be but she needs help. I will explain on the way, who knows if they are there yet.’ Getting on the bike Danny slid on behind her, not waiting for his arms to wrap around her waist she was gone.

‘Your mobile is ringing.’ Danny shouted in Cordi’s ear, both of them soaked to the bone from the non stop pour of rain coming from dark blue purple clouds, Cordi’s hair kept whipping him in the face, multi coloured strands flicking in and out.

‘Answer for me!’ She shouted back, focusing on the blurred headlights of cars ahead and in front of her.

‘Hello?’ His voice was muffled in the receiver from the wind and rain, Danny hoped the person over the line could hear him.

‘Danny? Why are you answering Cordi’s phone?’ It was Audrey.

‘She is driving, what’s up?’ Danny held a hand over the phone. ‘Its Audrey.’ He shouted to Cordi who nodded to show she had heard him.

‘I am about three hours out of town, can you guys meet me?’

‘Of course, how about you meet us somewhere, I have a feeling Cordi and Helena would love your help, something is up.’ Danny spent the rest of the trip explaining to Audrey what they needed.

‘Where is she?! We know you know Cult now save us the trouble and tell us!’ Garr had Helena pinned the floor, his sharp nails digging in to the flesh of her forearms, she had her eyes squeezed shut in pain. ‘Tell us!’ He grabbed her head and slammed it down on the tiled floor of the showers.

Hoping that it would keep Garr, Avery and Tristan away from the other people in the hospital, Helena had led and locked them in the large bathroom people on this floor of the ward shared.

‘I don’t know.’ Gasped Helena, lights popping in her vision as her head swam from meeting the floor so hard, sticky blood matted her hair as he slammed her again, hoisting her into the air by her arm he slammed her whole body this time, on the sinks.

Holding her down Garr ripped open the front of the hospital shirt Helena wore, sneering he ran his hand up one arm and rested above the freshly done stitching.

‘Don’t you dare!’ Helena struggled against Garr, his hands holding her down, cool metal taps were pressing into the base of her back. ‘Argh!’ She screamed in pain when he plunged his sharp long nails and fingers into the twice reopened cut.

‘I love it when you scream, scream more for me, scream to me where she is I know you know.’ Behind Garr the two other men cackled enjoying the show.

‘I. Don’t. Know. Who. You. Are. Talking. About.’ Helena breathed through the pain, blood running down her chest and dripping from her shoulder pooling into the basin beneath her head. ‘I really don’t.’

‘You do, I know you do. I saw what you saw and you know were she is so tell me!’ Garr snapped digging his hand in deeper.

‘If you saw what I saw then you should know.’

‘No not exactly, I didn’t see surroundings, I saw the figures and a door, that is all but you were there and your meddlesome friends as well.’ Garr got close up in Helena’s face, his hot breath stinking as he breathed on her. ‘Now one more time Cult, scream to me where she is.’

‘No way!’ Helena screamed and kicked him the chest, giving her enough momentum to move, get free of his grip and stumble away. Heading for another door on the other side of the room Helena clipped shoulders with Avery who growled.

‘Tell us where she is Cult!’ Avery shouted as he walked through the hole he had just created with her body in the door, nurses and patients screamed, running in the other direction as Garr, Avery and Tristan walked through the dust and broken wood.

‘Where are you Cult, don’t play hide and seek with us.’ Garr shouted as he kicked through the remains of the wooden door. ‘Cult come out or I will kill one of these pretty young things in uniform.’ They each grabbed one of the nurses by the collars of their uniforms, hoisting them screaming into the air.

Peeking out from beneath a large chunk of wood, Helena saw them and crawled out, holding her leg she limped over, her ankle burning whenever she applied to much pressure.

‘Good girl, now come over here Cult and tell us where she is.’

Looking around Helena made sure the only people left in the room were the nurses, clapping her hands she sent all the anger she was feeling towards the three men in her hands, signs glowed on her palms and beneath the cuts on her wrists, burning black. Collecting all the energy she brought her hands down and formed a gun with her fingers.

Pointing the tips of her fingers directly at Garr she imagined pulling the trigger to her makeshift gun and fired the swollen ball of glowing black power at him. It pulsed as it sailed through the air, static electricity crackling.

Throwing out another hand Helena flung the wide eyed nurse out of the way, slamming her hard against the wall, Helena kept in mind that people shouldn’t see what she was doing, and she had just seen a lot of it, along with the two other nurses who were screaming.

On the floor steaming, blood bubbling from the wound in his chest Garr sat up, shaking his head in pain. Helena had almost defeated him with one blow, if she worked on that she would be able to put enough power behind it to kill them all. He was pleased though, when he saw her stagger to the side, almost spent. She doesn’t know her limit yet.

‘I knew it!’ Helena spun around at the voice; she had just sent Tristan flying with the flick of her hand, sending a ball of writhing flames at him as he learnt to fly. ‘I can finally get out of here.’ Tarni walked into the room, the doors flapping shut behind her.

‘You cannot be in here Tarni, get out now!’ Helena shouted as she remembered the shadow snake clones she had used on her, holding out her hand she watched them snake out of her fingertips and engulf the right and left arm of Avery, letting them wrap around and bite him fully, Helena only had Garr to worry about.

‘Like hell I can’t be here, this is my way out. Blast a hole in that wall, now!’ Tarni demanded despite the fact Helena ignored her and focused on Garr.

‘I am not at your command Tarni, now please duck.’ Tarni shook her head and Helena had no choice but to pull her down by force, invisible pulling her feet out from under her as Garr threw something directly where she had been. ‘Now leave!’

‘No way this is too good.’ She wasn’t leaving; Tarni had always been into Fantasy and Magic when she was a little girl, before what happened to her, this was like a dream come true. ‘I am not going when this is so amazing.’

Irritated Helena lost track of what was going on, where are you Cordi? Making her way over to Tarni while Garr removed the snakes from Avery, Helena pushed her towards the doors she had come from. ‘Get!’

‘Look out!’ Tarni screamed covering her face, Helena turned in time to see the snakes coming at her, their shadow bodies writhing as they sailed through the air.

Holding out both hands Helena screamed shield, she thought it hadn’t worked as several of the shadow clones closed over her outspread arms and bit into the revealed skin of her chest and stomach.

Biting back the scream of pain Helena looked behind her, some of the shadow snakes were trying to bite through a pulsing purple shield throbbing in front of a terrified Tarni.

Looking back around Garr was in her face; Helena released the shields and burnt the snakes. With a hand behind her back she felt the signs burning again as she used what she could muster to make the same as she had before with one hand.

‘That hurt you know, especially that little thingy you made before, this is getting out of hand. Tell me where she is and I will let you and your friend live.’ Garr threatened, hoping she was using what she had left.

‘I can’t tell you what I don’t know.’ Helena hissed back and shoved her hand into his chest, the burning ball of black smoke, different from the last forced its way into his body and clawed at everything in its path.

Screaming in pain Garr pulled the thing from his chest, Helena was swaying in front of him, and this was his chance she wouldn’t be able to fight back now she had used all she’s got.

‘Didn’t the old man tell you Cult, you can only use what you have got, and for someone in a nut house you sure had a lot but now,’ he shook his head, ‘you don’t have anything. It’s my turn to play now.’ Garr put actions to his words and forced the ball into its owner’s chest, making her scream. I love it when she screams.

This went on for five minutes, Garr abused Helena until she could barely stand, and she leaned against the wall, her head down to heavy to keep up.

‘Stop you are going to kill her!’ Tarni yelled out of nowhere, she had been standing to the side hoping Helena would make some miraculous come back, but she never did. Now she was standing up for her. ‘Please leave her alone, she clearly doesn’t know where your person is.’

‘Stay out of this Tarni; it’s not your fight.’ Helena mumbled trying to keep herself from sliding down the wall and sleeping, that’s all she wanted to do, go to sleep. ‘I don’t want you getting hurt.’

‘No you clearly need help.’ Tarni stepped in front of Helena protectively, if this was a dream come true then she should be the heroine she always wanted to be and protect the hero. ‘Stay away from her.’

‘Big thoughts for someone so small.’ Garr teased, he watched the girls eyes widen when he said thoughts, and yes he could read her thoughts. ‘Now do as the “hero” says and step aside, you really don’t want me to hurt you, would be a little sore on your side.’

‘I don’t care, you can’t hurt her.’ Tarni protected Helena, she wasn’t going to let her die like she had let her mum and dad when she was younger.

‘Too bad you don’t know how to let things go, doing that is usually what kills a lot of people in the end, guess you will just be another.’ Garr yelled loudly, his hands filling with balls of smoke that seemed to become a solid mass as they flew through the air, headed dead on for impact with Tarni’s chest, it would kill her in an instant of pain.

‘NO!’ Helena moved as quick as she could, stepping in front of Tarni at the last moment the purple shield exploding from her outstretched palms that burned, the skin shredding when one of the balls connected with her hand, the other slicing through the skin in her side spraying the wall with blood.

The shield faltered, flickering in and out of sight before disappearing completely as Helena fell to the floor, her eyes closed as she rested amongst the broken bits of wall and wood, plaster billowing out beneath her.

‘Helena no!’ A boy’s voice shouted as the doors flung open, Danny ran towards her, Cordi not far behind him as she turned to face the three men that glared right back when she scowled at their being here.

‘Baby can you hear me, baby?’ Danny begged as he shook Helena a little, collecting her in his arms he stepped away from the three men Cordi was staring down. The further away from them he was the safer Helena would be in his eyes.

‘You boy, would be safer like the girl of you left her alone. We don’t want any trouble with the rest of you, just Cult she has what we need.’ Avery approached, Danny stood his ground though, the only thing he did was hold Helena tighter in his arms, he could feel how weightless she was and knew that was a good sign, she wasn’t dead yet.

‘Don’t worry dear boy, she won’t die for a while now, so best congratulations on working that out.’ Garr laughed, he liked this new ability to look into peoples minds, and he had been given this new one to counter Helena’s new ability to see into the future. Something Cult hadn’t had before, it was a new one for this generation.

‘We wont let you take her.’ Cordi said, all she seemed to be doing today was getting angry at people, though right now she wanted to be angry it was getting on her nerves, she wasn’t a natural angry person. At the moment she was enjoying the anger, it was filling her mind with ways to kick these guys ass’s. The more pleasure she got from this the better.

Running forward Cordi knew Danny was standing there in awe within five minutes of when she engaged in the fight, she was moving fluently between each men, throwing punches, kicks and pulling moves she had never seen or done before. Panting she pulled up next to him, feeling like Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the way she was fighting, sweat drenching her body as she ran back into them all.

Eventually Garr got tired of fighting Cordi and made a move for Danny, their aim for today was to apprehend Cult and take her back to base so they could achieve their other goal. A quick in and out kill of the girl they were hunting then they would get the big prize.

‘Get away from me!’ Danny shouted as Garr dove on him, driving them both to the floor.

‘Danny hold on!’ Cordi shouted and made to turn away from Avery and Tristan but they both blocked her way to him, stopping her from passing.

‘Ah how about no?’ Laughed Avery as he grabbed hold of Cordi’s arm, this was the longest time she had stood still so far and he took it to their advantage and got her in a painful arm lock.

‘As they say back home, if you can’t kill it, torture it till it wishes it could die.’ With a loud manic laugh Avery smiled with glee as he snapped the bones in Zombie’s arms and she dropped to the floor screaming in pain.

‘That is a sick saying you know?’ Tarni came from nowhere and stabbed a scalpel from one of the many overturned trays in the large rooms outside the bathrooms into Avery’s arm, she had disappeared for a moment to look for something she could help with.

Yelling in anger and pain from being caught off guard Avery turned on Tarni, pulling the blade from his arm he felt his skin crawl as the deep incision healed over the moment the surgical steel left his skin, Tarni almost passed out.

Garr, Tristan and himself had been created for the sole sake of destroying and mimicking Zombie Sex Cult. They each shared the same abilities of Immortality, Lust and Magic. Using the same abilities they were able to counter the three girls and finish them.

For over three hundred years they had killed more then one hundred and seventy of Zombie Sex Cult, only for them to be replaced and protect the girl they were all hunting for.

Over the three hundred years the girl was still to be found and protected, Zombie Sex Cult making sure their male clones never found her while they also looked for her. The old man made sure she was hidden well, only when necessary would he show himself, and that was always when the girl was close by.

‘No give her back, no Helena!’ Danny struggled against Garr who had Helena in his arms now, he slung her over his shoulder and walked away. Danny wasn’t letting her go so easy but and did the same thing Garr had done to him, dove on his back and drove him to the ground, slamming his fist time after time into his face. Helena rolled across the room from impact and rested against a wall.

‘Okay I got everyone out!’ Being told what to do while Danny had talked to her on the back of the motorbike, Audrey had cleared everyone out of the Psychiatric Hospital, looking around she saw a girl and Cordi struggling against Avery and Tristan while Danny was beating the shit out of Garr. Looking around for Helena she spotted her unconscious and dusty against a wall.

Tapping Danny on the back Audrey smiled and asked if she could take over. With a leg on each side of Garr like Danny had been, Audrey bent over his swollen face and before he could see who it was closed her lips over his blooded and split ones.

Groaning as the energy drained slowly from his body Garr struggled kick Audrey off his lips, as much as he was enjoying the kiss he couldn’t let it go on or he would die.

‘Get of me bitch!’ Sending Audrey flying through the air she thumped against a wall near Helena and sank to the ground with a moan of pain. She looked up in time to see Danny follow her in the opposite direction hitting the ground hard, Garr on top of him in an instant punching him repeatedly in the face.

Pushing Garr off him Danny ran to Helena, scooping her in his arms again she groaned a little, calling out to Cordi and Audrey he looked over and saw Cordi fighting with another girl a scalper protruding from her chest jaggedly.

‘Lets go!’ He yelled loud enough for them all to hear.

‘Not so fast kid.’ Garr appeared in front of him, his body coming together in particles. His hands closed over Helena’s shoulders and the two boys began to pull her in opposite directions like a two little kids fighting over a toy.

Danny and Garr flew backwards slamming into opposite walls stunned, wondering what had just happened to the both of them out of the blue.

Landing painfully on the ground Helena got up on her knees glaring at the two guys, annoyed at how they had been fighting over her. It didn’t last long though as reality came pounding back on her, how tired and drained she was. Slumping back against the wall she made herself stand with whatever she had left in reserves.

‘Hmm this might be harder now.’ Garr grumped as he got up, dusting he reformed behind Helena, calling to his comrades he nodded and watched them flicker out of sight one bye one until it was only him and the others left behind. ‘Or maybe it wont be after all.’ Garr disappeared with his arms around Helena, taking her with him.

‘Oh no I was too late.’ Everyone looked around in surprise at the soft voice that floated like music through the room. A young girl was standing in the middle or the room, sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the broken walls, holes in the plaster and destroyed bathroom door.

Blonde hair reaching her waist line and deep olive skin which made her pale blue eyes stand out made everything about the mystery girl just that, one big mystery like where she had come from, who she was and how she knew what was going on

‘My name is Pandora, I believe you two girls,’ She pointed to Audrey and Cordi, ‘are Sex and Zombie. I am sorry I didn’t get here in time to save your friend Cult. We will get her back together. Im the one you have been sent here to protect.’ Pandora said all this in one light breathe her voice floating like a rhythm.
