A cry at Midnight: CHAPTER ONE

A dead body on the ground and a high pitch scream through the air. The young detective shook her head. "It's going to be a long night" she whispered to her partner. The woman smoothed off her black suit and puts her glasses on top of her head so her short brown hair was pulled back. Her partner smiled "Calm down Sonyia we get in and out. Nothing more suspicious about it." Sonyia Skye knew differently, he chief never sent her out on one of these high profiled cases if something wasn't up. Sonyia showed her badge to one of the cops on scene and stepped in knowing that Lucas would follow her. 1

Sonyia walked into the rat infested motel and goes to the room. She stopped to a halt and Lucas almost ran into her. "Damn it Skye what's wrong?" he said in a low growl. Sonyia pointed to the wall with a shaky hand. "That Williams." she said in another whisper. On the far wall and bloody message met the detectives, "MORE WILL DIE IF I CHOOSE SO YOU POOR PIGS WILL NEVER CATCH ME. THIS IS NUMBER THREE." Lucas cursed and Sonyia looked around the room. The body of a young red head lay on the bed mutilated and naked. "Poor girl" Sonyia thought to herself "No one should go through that." Lucas studied the message and shook his head "The bastard that is doing this will pay Sonyia. I promise you that" he said with a low growl. 2

Sonyia Skye was not just your run of the mill detective from Los Angels, Sonyia had premonitions that led her into capturing the killer. Only a select few knew of her powers but they weren't saying a word. Lucas went behind her as she was bending down to the body and whispered to her kinda low "Do you sense anything?" Sonyia shook her head as she studied the body and closed her eyes to focus. Lucas went to yell at the cops that picked up some evidence without gloves and Sonyia got her vision with a full blow, The young girl cowers on the bed for her life and the killer just laughs a hearty deep laugh and smiles at the girl. "Don't worry my pretty girl this wont hurt me one bit." he said with a laugh. He came closer and grabbed the girl's hair and pulled her down on the bed. The girl whimpered for her life and looked at the killer. He had dark eyes deep with lust and black hair that came to his shoulders. The killer took the knife and slammed it into the girl's stomach and she let out a mighty scream. Sonyia trembled as she came out of her vision and Lucas caught her before she fell. "Something good Skye?" Lucas said softly into her ear as she stood on her own. Sonyia nodded and puts her glasses back in place. "Yes something very good Lucas. We need to go to the station." She said and steeped out into the hallway and to the dark night.3
