Star Wars: Adventure in Ambria

Glossary

Ambria- the name of a planet that is consumed by evil.

Gammorean- a pig-like, warlike species that are often hired as bodyguards. They are also normally very stupid, especially the males.

Holocomm- a way of speaking much like a telephone but you can see the person. It is like an overhead where though you can see the words, but you can’t touch them.

Holocron- is an ancient recording device that was used by the Sith and the Jedi. It involved recording lessons and major events. This particular device can only be used by force sensitive people, and involves recording important lessons and major events.

Hssis – this creature is a dragon-like species. On the outside they have long silver claws, shiny black scales and are semi-sentient. Internally they carry an aurora, of the darkside of the force.

Rupulsor Chair- a chair that hovers in the air against gravity. The chair is balanced on small rockets, which a person can control from within the chair.

Wookiee- a hairy species, that are very strong and originate from a world called Kashyyk. In Star Wars the legendary Chewbacca was a wookiee.

Characters

Tenel Ka- is the Princess of Hapes and of Darthomir. She is about fifteen years old in this story. She dislikes finery, preferring Darthomiran warrior’s style of dress. She is a Jedi and friends with Jaina, Jacen, Lowabacca and later, Tene Salas.

Jacen Solo- is the oldest son of Han Solo and Princess Leia. He is skilled with animals and has a twin sister named Jaina. He is a Jedi and is friends with his sister, her special creature Lowabacca, Tenel Ka and later Tene Salas. Jacen and his sister are both about fourteen years old in this story.

Jaina Solo- is the only daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia. She inherited her father’s knack with mechanics and love of space. She is the twin of Jacen and the proud owner of the ship StarSaber. She is a Jedi and is friends with her brother, Lowabacca, Tenel Ka and later, Tene Salas.

Lowabacca, Also known as Lowie- is a wookiee and the nephew of the legendary Chewbacca. He is talented with computers and has a translating droid as his assistant, named Emteede. He is a Jedi and is friends with the Solo twins (Jacen and Jaina), Tenel Ka and later Tene Salas. He is about nineteen years old in this story.

Tene Salas- is the son of Zaina Assis/Lady Saamaarsk. He is force sensitive and one of Tenel Ka’s third cousins. He later becomes friends with the Solo twins (Jacen and Jaina), Tenel Ka and Lowabacca. He is around seventeen or eighteen years old in this story.

Zaina Assis- is Tenel Ka’s heir to the Hapes throne. She is Tenel Ka’s second cousin and is the most beautiful woman in all of Hapes. She is of the Sith group, evil people who use the force for destruction instead of creation. She is the owner of Darth Banes Sith Holocron, and the mother of one son named, Tene Salas.

Tenel Ka lounged in her room, looking around with distaste. The room was done in a pale pink. A pale pink rupulsor chair hovered near the edge of the room. A revoltingly fluffy pale pink bed, sat in the far corner. A holoprojector and a holocomm sat in the middle of the room. Tenel Ka sighed, there wasn’t much for her to do. Although the Princess of Darthomir and heir to the title of Queen Mother of the Hapes Courtium, she really didn’t have much to do.

Suddenly, the holocomm lit up. Tenel Ka swiftly strode over to it and activated it. An image of a woman with golden hair, barley streaked with grey appeared. “Princess, she intoned. How are you?” Tenel Ka stared into her aunt’s stormy grey eyes, which were so much like her father’s. “Aunt Somalia, I am fine. Tenel Ka paused then plastering a false smile on her face asked, “What do you want?” “Oh, I don’t want anything. But Zania wants to see you at 2200 standard hours in the epiorios waitmain room. Be dressed accordingly.” The comm switched off.

Tenel Ka growled and muttered, “I think I will go into a short Jedi trance”, then she sat down cross-legged on her bed and did just that.

Tenel Ka strode confidently, to the epiorios waitmain room. She quickly glanced at her finery. She wore a sleek green shimmersilk gown, and her red-gold braids were twisted on top of her head. Even simple finery such as this was uncomfortable, since she was used to darthomiran warriors garb.

Reaching the epiorios, she sat down on a golden hover-chair while, she evaluated the room. Several girls, obviously hapian chattered about Dariadi Soomlik, whom they thought quite handsome. Tenel Ka silently chuckled, remembering the time when she met him. He had actually thought that she was one of her mother’s BODYGUARDS! Suddenly she felt a whisper in the force. She turned in time to see the woman rumoured to be the most beautiful in Hapes. She had long glossy black hair, blue-green eyes and soft pink lips. She was wearing a formal, magenta gown studded with jewels from Gallinor, which made her look like a goddess. Her hair was piled up in an acotue; a Princess Leia’ style. And that wasn’t even counting the fact that she had an escort on her arm, who was probably gorgeous. Even Tenel Ka who, didn’t give a hoot about appearances or gorgeous escorts, was a little bit jealous. She shouldn’t be, for Jedi didn’t need to be beautiful to be peacekeepers, but it was there all the same.

Her cousin strode toward where Tenel Ka was sitting. “Tenel Ka! Zania exclaimed. So good to see you again.” Then she gave Tenel Ka a stiff hug, as was customary. When Zania pulled out of the embrace she motioned to her escort and said, “This is Salsir Somdipio. Tenel Ka glanced at Salsir. He was clothed in a pale green cape and tunic with gold embroidery that matched his eyes. He had golden brown hair and was staring at Zania as if the world revolved around her. “Zania, Tenel Ka acknowledged. What do you want?”

“Well to save time, Hssit! Tenel Ka had no idea what Zania was talking about. Suddenly an icy coldness in the force made her glance towards. A shadow fell over the room as the thing entered. Zania smiled and gestured towards the approaching shadow. “That is a Hssis or darkside dragon. Zania drew a gun of command, from a fold in her dress. She shot Tenel Ka with it. “You she said, are now my captive. Follow me.” Tenel Ka struggled to resist, but she was powerless to do anything she was not ordered to do, no matter how hard she tried. She followed Zania through a maze of corridors to a private docking bay. She led Tenel Ka into a ship called the Saamaarski Explorer. Tenel Ka followed Zania to the lower levels of the ship, to a small chamber with a tiny repulsor cot. Zania pointed at the cot and ordered Tenel Ka to sleep. Tenel Ka did so and she knew no more…

When Tenel Ka awoke, she had no idea where she was. Tenel Ka looked up into Zania’s blue-green eyes. But this wasn’t Zaina, it couldn’t be… Then everything came rushing back, the Hssis, the gun of command…

Zaina seemed to know exactly what was going through Tenel Ka’s mind. Saying “I am not just Zaina Assis. I am Lady Saamaarask, Dark Lordess of the Sith. Those, Zania told her, gesturing towards the far side of the room where Tenel Ka suddenly noticed six Hssis were standing on their hind legs. Those, Zaina continued are my loyal bodyguards.

Tenel Ka’s green eyes widened as she muttered “Dark Jedi…” Zaina laughed, a laugh that would have put Emperor Palpatine to shame, as she strode out of the room…

Queen mother Teniel Djo of the Hapes Courtium looked at her husband in shock. She knew, through the force, that her daughter Tenel Ka had been kidnapped. Isolder Chum’Da comforted his sobbing wife, to comfort himself.

Tene Salas rolled his green eyes at his mother. “Mother, let me meet Tenel Ka. Apparently we look alike, except for this of course pointing at his dark hair.

“Dear Tene Salas you are of the Sith, why would you want to see Princess Tenel Ka of Darthomir and the Hapes Courtium?” It was a question, Tene knew, but it was more like an insult. “Mother let me meet Tenel Ka, he said forcefully, and none of those horrid Hssis! You hear me?!”

“Alright,” Zaina sighed wondering, would her son ever be Sith at heart?

Tenel Ka looked up when the door opened. It was a young man who looked to be about seventeen or eighteen. He had fiery green eyes; identical to her own and dark brown hair. He was smiling true or not … she didn’t know. He awkwardly stepped forward and shuddered “I didn’t bring any Hssis with me. Horrible things.” When Tenel Ka didn’t reply he hurried on, “I’m Tene Salas or Tene for short. I’m your second cousin. Tenel Ka stared at him startled. “Zaina is several years older than me but I never expected… Tenel Ka’s voice trailed off. Hesitantly she asked “Why am I here and where is here?”

He replied, “I have no idea why you are here. Oh and you are on the Saamaarski Explorer.” He started to tell her about the ship then, until he noticed that Tenel Ka, had turned as white as a spirit. She started to ask more, but suddenly slumped into unconsciousness. Tene Salas quickly spun around to look at the door. Zaina was standing there, a cruel smile of satisfaction on her face. She answered his unstated question easily “You didn’t think I’d let you tell her everything...” Zania’s eyes narrowed “Or did you?”

Craaack! Tenel Ka woke to find the left side of her body burning in agony. She struggled to her feet and almost fell back down when the neuronic whip hit her again. The Gammorean, who had just hit Tenel Ka with the whip, gestured for her to follow him. She did so, not because she wanted to, but because Tenel Ka didn’t want to be hit with the whip again. She was led out of the Explorer and onto a steep cliff that the Starship had landed on. The Gammorean made a hand motion for Tenel Ka to get on the Hssis in front of them. She did so and mounted behind her second cousin, Tene who was already on that particular Hssis. Tene Salas was wearing a robe made of a particular feeling black material. Tene wacked the Hssis on the neck and roared “Away, away Ghistalyk!” the Hssis took off gracefully and lightly. “Where are we going?” Tenel Ka asked

“To the Fortress of Lords of Light, Tene Salas replied. We’re on the dark side planet of Ambria, the Hssis’s home.” He fell silent. Tenel Ka found herself wishing Jacen Solo or her other friends were here. How she loved frustrating Jacen by asking him to explain why a joke was funny. Jacens twin sister Jaina was nice and was very understanding. Their wookiee friend Lowabacca was courageous and loyal. All of them would be nice, or a least one of them. When the Hssis landed on yet another steep cliff, she could not help gasping in wonder at the fortress looming above her, which was built into several steep cliffs. The fortress of Lords of Light was a complete irony to its name. The stone cliffs were blacker than night and the looming shadows of Hssis and other such things. She followed Tene to an entrance into cliff fortress that led to a shipyard with several huge ships. She saw huge looming ships, mostly Imperial-class Star Destroyers and Super-Class Star Destroyers. She saw Boba Fett and Dengar talking, and too many assassin droids and interrogation droids to count. She could hear faint screams from somewhere below her probably emitting from deep caverns. The fortress was sterile smelling and looking. She also saw dozens of different species most which she had never seen before. Tene led her into an assembly chamber of some sort. A small semi-circle was surrounding…Zaina. Tenel Ka was lead by Tene to a place in the semi-circle. She knew she had to listen.

Zaina’s voice boomed “I am Lady Saamaask of the Sith! You are gathered her on my account. Dark knights, take apprentices! We are the darkness, the forsakers of light! Zaina finished her speech and motioned for Tenel Ka and Tene to follow her. They did.

Tenel Ka was frightened. Tenel Ka was rarely frightened of anything. She was staring at a holocron that was partially alive. Tenel Ka was sitting cross- legged by the holocron. She heard Zaina say something then a holocron figure appeared. It was…Darth Bane…

Many thousand years ago we Sith were banished. The people disappeared. Only the masters and apprentices remained. The voice continued on, but Tenel Ka was listening to the force. Jacen was really here!

Jacen Solo had no idea where he was and couldn’t remember how he got here. But Tenel Ka who had been missing for a few weeks was here, wherever this was. Slowly Tenel Ka managed to gather that she was listening to a holocron. A Sith Holocron!

Jacen was now also sitting cross-legged by the holocron. Some Hssis had brought him to Tenel Ka… and her cousin Zaina. There was also a boy in the room it was, Tene Salas, who was really Zaina’s son. Zaina didn’t appreciate his dislike for the Sith.

“Tenel Ka what is happening? He asked through the force.

Tenel Ka replied, also through the force “Many things, listen to the holocron. I know the Jedi historian will be most interested.” Jacen listened

“And the Sith were destroyed as were those foolish Jedi. All the Sith that is except for me, Darth Bane. I made a rule that there only is to be two Sith at a time; the master and the apprentice.”

Zaina suddenly cried “But that time is over, I will have now have three apprentices: Tenel Ka, Jacen Solo and my son Tene Salas.”

Bane replied “So you shall and I will help you.”

Tenel Ka sighed, for this incident happened three months ago. She now had her own chambers in the fortress of Lords of Light, her own Hssis to ride. Unfourtunately though, she was turning to the dark side. Soon she would no longer be Jedi. She would be Sith. She, Tenel Ka would be a nightsister.

Jacen had been planning something quite different for the last three months. “Tenel Ka” he called through through the force, but Tenel Ka wouldn’t come. Her cousin Tene Salas was now her closest companion. If he wouldn’t go than neither would she.

Tene Salas answered Jacen’s question about running away with him. Instead Tenel Ka would answer and respond to a simple “Nobata.” Jacen looked puzzled so Tene repeated what he had said, this time in basic “no.” Jacen stomped away. Tene sighed wondering why his mother wanted them in the first place. He would love to run away, but he knew that if he did so he would probably have the best bounty hunters in the galaxy after him. Zania would certainly want him alive. By living Zania could torture Tene Salas, put him into a coma, poison him or dozens of other devious methods to kill him or teach him not to disobey her.

Jaina Solo was practising her lightsaber techniques on her current ship StarSaber, when she heard her brother Jacen Solo, through the force. “Jaina, her brother desolately cried, come to Ambria. The Fortress of the Lords of Light, is where you will find us. Beware of the darkside.” Jaina, who was on her heels at the time, was momentarily startled. Still she yelled “Lowie, set course for Ambria!” “Wuaaa”, Lowie woofed, momentarily taken aback. Quickly Emteede translated “Master Lowabacca asks why you want to go to Ambria.”

Jaina barely managed to keep her temper contained as she yelled, “Do it before, I make that an order!” Lowie immediately woofed an affirmative in the shryiwook dialect. Then Lowie yowled something that Jaina interpreted to mean, “We are jumping in two minutes.” Jaina sat back against the wall and tried to feel her brother through the force. Jaina could barely touch Jacen, before a flow of emotions caused her to bang her head against the wall. Jacen was in pain…terrible pain and she could do nothing to help him.

Jacen Solo groaned as the Hssis circled around him. The dark side was slowly obliterating him even as he clung to the light. Everything was going wrong; Tenel Ka was turning into a nightsister, and now he Jacen Solo, a dark Jedi. He called back to Jaina through the force, but he wasn’t sure if he reached her. Then his viewpoint blurred, wavered and then, everything went black.

Jaina passed the time by repeating gungan dialect words “Okayday, yesa, nosa, hidoe, meesha.” Then she reviewed them in basic “Okay, yes, no, welcome ‘“, and so on. Suddenly a startled woof from Lowie, caused her to rush to the cockpit. “Lowie, what is it?” Jaina asked. Lowie pointed to a dark planet and Jaina realized they had come out of hyperspace. Then she felt it. Horrible, cold dark side energy cloaked all of Ambria. Lowie yipped something about turning back. “Lowie, Jacen’s out there,” Jaina cried. Lowie cried out in a wookiee battle note as he stared at the planet…

Tenel Ka woke up, feeling Jacen’s pain. “Jacen, hold on where are you ?” she cried, through the force. Once again Tenel Ka heard Jacen weakly say through the force “Tenel Ka, run, now” then his presence was shadowed in darkness. Tenel Ka’s normally calm face crumpled, the good Jacen she had known was no longer here; he was a dark Jedi. Jacen, her best friend was turning away from her. Suddenly the door behind her slid open. It was Jacen. But it wasn’t Jacen it couldn’t be she though incredulously. His warm brandy-brown eyes held a cold gaze. He looked the same physically, but he wasn’t the same Jacen that stared at her for a minute, then he pressed his fingertips together. He did this for about half a minute. Then he pulled his fingertips apart and pointed them at her. Gold lightning erupted from his fingertips. Most of it only grazed beside her, but before she knew what had happen she was enclosed in crackling gold lightning bolts… and Jacen was gazing at her with an evil glare in his eyes. “Jacen, she gasped. What are you doing?”

Jacen’s answered her question mockingly “ Why making sure you don’t escape Tenel Ka.” Tenel Ka tried to use the force to push away the enclosure, but it didn’t do anything. Jacen suddenly spread his hands apart and began levitating Tenel Ka and the enclosure. Tenel Ka screamed as she was slowly levitated to an unknown fate…

When Jaina and Lowie heard Tenel Ka’s scream through the force, they knew something was wrong. Tenel Ka almost never screamed except when someone she cared about died and she either saw it or felt it through the force. However, something had happened to Jacen, Jaina knew this. Tenel Ka seemed to think he had turned to the dark side. Jaina reached for Jacen with the force, through the twin bond they’d always had. At first she felt nothing, then she felt his emotions. Fear, sorrow, despair and …rage.

Jaina barely managed to control her fear. To calm the tide of emotion, she started to recite the Jedi code of conduct, out loud. In response, Lowie barked a question, concerned for her well being. Emteede prissily translated “Master Lowabacca would like to know if you are quite well. He is very concerned.” Lowie didn’t even notice his droid language add-ons; he just looked at Jaina waiting for answer. Jaina sighed knowing Lowie, could easily read the change in her emotions. Lowie…Jacen is despairing and fearful …and, and Jaina couldn’t finish; she broke down crying. Lowie seized her and gave her a big wookiee hug. She continued sobbing into Lowie’s ginger chest… he was feeling rage too. Lowie knew why she was so upset; and he joined her upset feelings. Jacen was his friend and although he wasn’t as close to Jacen as Jaina was as his twin…he was still one of Jacen’s friends. He wondered what Jacen was doing to Tenel Ka; he hoped that they could turn Jacen back to the light…and save Tenel Ka as well.

Jaina suddenly continued “ he is feeling rage against… Tenel Ka.”

Tenel Ka floated through the Fortress of Lords of Light. The corridors were almost utterly devoid of light. Tenel Ka drifted past many beings, but nobody even noticed she was there. The energy Jacen was levitating her with, was energy coming from rage… directed at her.

Gradually Tenel Ka’s journey slowed and she was lowered into a repulsor chair. The enclosure disappeared and who but Jacen Solo, in person, strode out of the room. She noticed that there was a lightsaber hanging from his belt...one that was not his own. Tenel Ka wondered what Zaina had done with her own turquoise bladed lightsaber. Hidden it or more likely destroyed it? She surveyed the room. There were a few other repulsor chairs, another doorway and absolutely nothing else. Zaina and a being of whose species she had never seen before entered the room. This being had at least ten arms and sixteen legs. The creature stared at Tenel Ka for a minute then turn to Zaina. “Lady Saamaarsk it said in a strange warbling voice “Is that Princess Tenel Ka of Dathomir and the Hapes Courtium?”

Zaina hissed “Yes, Raanskoti. Now do what I told you to do.” The strange being left the room. Tenel Ka instantly turned to Zaina who had settled herself into a nearby rupusor chair and demanded, “What did you do to Jacen!”

“Turned him to the darkside “, Zaina said airily. Now we have better matters to discuss. Such as this, she said while pulling out Tenel Ka’s lightsaber. Tenel Ka noticed something moving in the doorway. A voice called “What did you do to Jacen?”

Zaina spun around startled “What do you … ” she never finished her sentence as a red blaster bolt hit her in the leg. Lowie’s victory call was easily heard. “Lowie, Jaina asked can you take Zania back to the ship and watch her?”

Lowie rumbled an affirmative and, picking up Zaina then headed towards the ship. Jaina turned and asked Tenel Ka “Do you know where Jacen is?” Tenel Ka slowly shook her head.

Jacen Solo and Tene Salas were fighting Hssis. Or rather the Hssis were fighting them. Jacen’s new lightsaber slashed through an Hssis’s shoulder. He heard a scream, and recognized it as Tene Salas’s. An Hssis was slashing frantically at him Jacen reached them just as Tene blacked out. Fortunately Jacen managed to kill the first Hssis…but was attacked from behind by another Hssis. He managed to kill that one too. Then he collapsed into a state of unconsciousness…

A few hours later Jaina, found Jacen and Tene. Both were in bad shape and were surrounded by the bodies of dead Hssis. Tenel Ka levitated Tene Salas, Jaina, and Jacen. After about fifteen minutes of levitation they reached the ship, completely exhausted. Lowie met them at the ramp. They lowered Tene and Jacen into bacta tanks just as the ship jumped into hyperspace emerging into healing trances. When all of them awoke they made sure that Zaina was still stunned. Next they contacted Hapes and informed them that Tenel Ka was safe and that they had Zaina captive. Tenel Ka and Jaina went to check on Tene Salas and Jacen Solo, who had both almost completely recovered. They choose to remain silent and not tell the brave fighters what had happened, that story was for another time. “Thank you for saving me” Tene Salas said.

Jaina laughed and returned, “Well that’s what friends are for!” The four old friends and one new friend chortled, “Yes that’s what friends are for!” (With the exception of Lowie who woofed it) they settled down in the cockpit and wondered what adventures would await them on Yavin4…and what Zaina’s fate would be.
