Chapter 4:
I woke up and found myself in one of the houses snuggly tucked into bed. "They must have carried my up here after I had fallen asleep." I woke up Daisy and she meowed a good morning and padded off twards the night stand and pawed at a note that was left there. I sat up in bed and read it.
-Roxy
Everything you need is in this room, wash up
and eat some breakfast. We will start training when the sun rises,
met us at the firepit.
-Love Dad
I set the note back on the night stand and looked around. The wall opposite from me was a vnity table that sat in frount of a currtined window, next to the table was a little old fashioned stove with a tea kettle sitting on top. To my right was a closet and cheast. I got up and opened the currtens to see the sun hadnt risen yet, but would within the next hour or so. I lit the stove with some flit I found in one of the vanity draws, and filled the kettle with water from a big picture that sat next to the washing dish. I looked in the cheast and found tea packs, cups, some dry foods, and rags. I grabbed some rags and poured some water into he washing dish and washed my face and the back of my neack. The kettle whistled so I grabbed a cup and tea packs and filled it up. It tasted sweet sothing warmig my througt all the way down. I walked over to the closet and found that it contained mostly white dresses like the one I wore yesterday, Some were londer and some were orange. There were also night gowns and robs made of soft silk and lace. I grabbed one of the dresses like the one I wore before and pulled it on. on the inside of the closet door was a long sheet of foggy glass that served as a mirror. I found that the dress flattered my shoulders and long legs, and showed that I had a nice figure. I smiled at myself and wondered back to the vanity and serched the drowers. There were powders for my face, brushes and combs, candels, viles of perfums that smelled of wild flowers and spices. In the top drower were ribbons, Some were think and long to tie around my waist and some were small for my hair. The colors were orange and white. I pulled out two orange ones, for my hair and waist. And then a small white one."Come here Daisy" She bounced up to the vanity and hopped up. I tied the white ribbon into a bow around her neck. When I was done she meowed. I brushed my hair and tied it with the other ribbon and put some powder on my face. I finished my tea and headed outside. It didnt seem like anyone was awake yet. I looked out over the railling taking the whole village in, My gazed stopped at the deack where my mothers 'shrine' was. I walked over the briges and stopped in front of her portrate. I looked around at the candels and flowers and had an idea.
"Come on Daisy, lets go for a walk."
We headed down the stairs and acrossed the village to the river I had bathed in the night before. I picked wild flowers serching for a good verity of colors, from bright reds and yellows to vibrant blues and lush purples. Daisy was off teasing squerls and chasing butterflies having the time of her life. I stood up looking around and took a deep breath. "Its so beautiful here, and peacfull." Daisy rubbed her check ageint my ankel and purred in agreement, then pranced off to rool in a batch of daisies. I continues picking flowers untill I had enough for two boquetes, one for my mother and one for my room. I looked up at the shy seeing the sun was about to rise and gathered all the flowers and headed off back to the village. "Come on Daisy time to go." People were just waking up and starting thier day when I got back to my room. I put half the bunch I had picked in a vase and tied the other with a ribbon fom my vanity and took it to the shrine.
"I wont let you down mother." I put the boquete amungst the others and headed to the fitpit with Daisy getting thier just as everyone els did. Exept the firepit wasnt thier anymore, instead there was a big arena biult about a foot off the ground. It was one big square about the size of a pool, and all around the village there were various aquiptment for workouts and exercizes. Me and Mark stood side by side as we waited for Mr.Ginver, Mr.Lurence and our father.
"Did you two get to good nights sleep?" Our father looked at me and smiled and we both nodded eager to get our training started. "Good cause your going to need it."
Mr.Ginver and Mr.Lurence walked up to stand before us andd looked us over.
"Looks like you too have kept yourselvs in shape,"
"Mark works out regularly and Roxy is a dancer." And boy am I glad I took up dancing, now I wouldnt be frowned upon beacues I couldnt do a pull-up like I use to be.
"A dancer?" Mr.Ginver thought about the word in confusion, probably thinking that dancing around the bondfire hadnt gotten him the physice he had today. I nodded and looked at my father.
"Its not like the dancing we did last night you need to be able to lift your own wieght and be light on you feet, maybe sometime Mark and I could show everyone." Mark gave me a displeasing look. He never liked dancing in front of people but when I needed to practice he would help me learn and remember my rutine.
"Exelent. Sounds like we could learn some new skill form your dancing." Wow. I had never thought of it like that before, so maybe I wouldnt have as much trouble as I thought I would have.
"Okay then, Lets teast your reflexes. We are going to throw these bags of sand at you guys and you are going to doge them." Mr.Ginver gave a sheepish smile and tossed one of the bags at me witch I esilly side stepped.
"Your kidding right, how is that going to help anything?" I placed my hands on my hips and frowned. I was kind of dissapointed, I thought we were going to get at least a little bit of a challenge. But they all just laughed as if someone told an inside joke, and about five other men from the village circeled around us all carring sand bags.
"You might be able to doge one at a time, but what about six or seven?" I glanced at Mark and saw him slump over in defet, he knew as well as I did that we wernt going to be able to doge all of them from diffrent directions.
"Ready?" Without giving them an answer they began throwing sand bags at us. I maneged to duck and sidestep some of them but I was being hit from my side and behind me.
"This isnt fair, its our first day!" I grabbed one of the bags that had fallen at my feet and pitched it at my father, but my aim was off and it hit Mr.Ginver instead. They stopped and stared at me, 'dead woman walking' is what thier exspetions said. I just stood thier and waited to be lectured or what ever but he just looked at me and laughed.
"I thought you said you were light on your feet." He shook a sand bag my way threating to throw it.
"Yes maybe but I cant see whats going on behind me!" They all looked at eachother moved to form a line in front of us.
"Is that better?" Said my father in a mocking gesture, but he knew I was right. Mark rolled his eyes and I nodded. They started throwing again and I ducked and doged trying not to collied with Mark. By the time they were done I was out of breath but I did a good job. I had only been hit by four of five and I tripped over my own feet a couple times.
I guess im not so light on my feet afterall.
"Okay you two did pretty good for your first time, once we teach you to be in touch with your surounding and your sences we can try again from all directions." Mark looked at me then looked back at Mr.Ginver like he was crazy.
"C'mon I dont think anyone can do that without being hit no matter how in touch they are with whatever." Mr.Ginver cocked his eye brow and our father shook his head. He walked over to Mark and looked him in the eye.
"Is that a challenge."
"Hell yeah, you think you can do that with out getting hit? Lets make a bet!" A smile slowly crept acrossed Mr.Ginvers face.
"Okay. If I get hit you wont have to do the next exersize. But if I dont get hit you have to do it carring two five pound wieghts."
"Deal!" Mark held out his hand and sealed the deal. I gave a loud sigh and Mark gave me a disoppointing look.
"You think he can do it? Even if he dose, a mesly ten pounds isnt going to slow me down!" I looked up and pityed my brothers lack of common sence.
"I dont know if he can do it or not, but you should have asked what the next exersize was before you shook hands." His eyes got big and he snapped his head to Mr.Ginver who was laughing.
"That is a good point Roxanne, always be one step ahead of your aponet." With that he walked into the middle of the arena and everyone gathered in a circle. He took a deep breath and stood completly still. Everyone started throwing and he doged everyone with ease. Doing flips and spins doging from every directiong without even having to look. I have no dout he could have done it with his eyes closed. He didnt get hit by a single one, and when he was done he motioned to one of the men who came and handed two big bags of sand to Mark.
"So whats next?" I wanted to get a good laugh out at Mark for being so stupid. But my father pointed high up in a tree and Mr.Lurence waved to us from one of the highest branches. I had to tilt my head all the way back to see him.
"Last one to get to Hunter has to do the dishes tonight." I snapped my head around to him and looked at my father who just shrug his sholders. I folded my arms and plopped down and the grown letting out a sigh.
"No way!"
"C'mon you can beat him, hes got two bags of sand he has to carry up there along with him there is no way he will beat you." Mr.Ginver was getting a kick out of this but I on the other hand didnt think it was so funny.
"Yes he will because im not moving from this spot." Everyone look at my father but he didnt say anything, Mark was the one to explain.
"She is scared of hights." I looked at Mr.Ginver ashamed of myself. He walked up to me and held out his hand and helped me up.
"If you fall I will catch you myself, there isnt anything to be afraid of."
"But Mr.Ginver how could you catch me if im two hundred feet in the air."
"First of all dont call me Mr.Ginver it makes me fell old, just call me Shaun. And I promise if you fall I will be there to catch you no matter how far, okay.
I nodden smiling now I walked over to the lowest branch and waited for the signal.
"Why are you so confident all of a sudden?" I laughed and looked up at Mr.Lurence concentrating on my target.
"Because noone said they would catch you if you fall." His face got serious and he looked back at our father showing a little fear.
"You will be fine, now pay attention." Even though I trusted Shaun I was still nerves. Mr.Lurence yelled the signal to go and I hoisted myself up the braches. I was doing good and was even ahead of Mark when I made the mistake of looking down.
"Oh my god!" I snapped my head back up and remembered that I was safe. I kept climbing but I got clumsy, I tripped over a branch and lost my ballence. I caught myself in a rather akward postion but by the time I got back on my feet Mark had caught up and was ahead of me now. He reached the top only seconds before I did, but he was braging like he had been waiting for me there for hours.
"I was rooting for you the whole time, I was hopping he would fall." I laughed and almost lost my balence again. I looked down at Shaun and my father who looked like ants and waited for more instructions.
"Okay now! Here are the rules!." Shaun had his hands cuped over his mouth and was shouting, I looked over at Mark and smile. There is no way I was going to lose again.
"First rule; last one down has to clean out the hourses stable tonight. Second rule; You can not get down the same way you got up, meaning you can not climb all the way down." Okay that didnt sound too hard, about ten feet down there was a rope tied to one of the branches, i could use that to my advantage.
"Ready...Go!" I climbed down to the rope and thought about how I was going to do this. The rope went stright acrossed the village passing bridges, houses, and the covered deck. Mark was already half way down the tree when I looked back up.
"Mr.Lurence your sure that bridge wont brake?"
"Yes ma'am, biult it myself. You could carry an elefent acrossed that bridge and it wouldnt brake." Okay then here was nothing to worrie about. All I had to do was use the rope as a zip line, let go at the right time and land safly on the bridge. The only thing was if I mised the bridge and went plumetting to the earth. I let out a deep breath and untied the ribbon wround my waist.
"No guts no glory, right?" I could have done with out the thought but if I was flying down the rope with the ribbon as my only life line what would I do if it broke? I shook my head trying to forget my worries and looked down at Mark.
"I hope you like horses Mark!" With that I pushed myself off the branch and zipped throught the air. I got closer to the birdge and prepared myself for the landing when I saw Shaun running along with me. Good if I fell he would be here to catch me. Seconds before I passed the bridge I let go and held out my arms just incase I missed I could grab into something. But I didnt miss I landed with a Thud on my back knocking the air out of my lungs for a second, but atleast it worked.
"Are you crazy!?" I got up and looked down at Shaun, his eyes were crazy and he looked like he wanted to rip his hair out. I guess I really scared him. Which surprised me because from what I have heard nad seen he was the kind of guy to keep to himself, When we gave the news about our mother he didnt even shudder, nor did he laugh and dance like the others that night and he was a good friend of her an my father. I smiled and made my way down to the arena where my father stood with his arms folded acrossed his cheast.
" What were you thinking Roxy." He sounded upset but I saw a hint of envy maybe. Everyone looked that way, but I guess they all expected me to cry and wine because I was scared, serves them right for not having faith in me!
"I was thinking about getting down before Mark did, wasnt that the whole point?" My father and Shaun sat down on the end of arena both latting out ezagerated sighs. Looking at me then to me father Shaun tried not to let me hear.
"She is going to be a handfull.." My father looked at Shaun as if saying 'look whos talking!'
"Yeah well your not an angle yourself, just dont go giving her any ideas I dont want her turrning out like you." Mark had finally made it back to the arena out of breath and sweating, he dropped the bags and collapsed down next to our father.
"Okay so we are going to take a break and then see how your flexability is." Our father gave a big cheesy smile and Mark slummped over groning. Flexability? what the hell did that have to do with anything. I sat down with Mark as everyone els brought a veriety of bars and polls and set them up in frount of us.
"Okay you two ready?"Our father motioned for us to get up and he began to show us what we had to do. It looked alot like Yoga, or like Yoga Extreeme! I was a dancer nad even I streached mucels I didnt even know I had. My whole body felt like jello by the time we were done nad Mark couldnt even walk, or so he looked that way.
"Okay I think we are sone for now, lets go eat some luch and then we can get started again."
We ate lunch outside this time.Mostlt there were fruits and pies, some meats and vegtables but not as much as last night. This time I didnt get to drink any wine, probabbly bacause they didnt want me stumbling around while they were trying to teach me. Instead I drank water, I think, I looked and smelled like water but when I drank it it tasted sweet like nectur.
"Why are you guys skipping around and not focusing on one thing in paricular?" I looked at Mark, I hadnt even thought of that but I didnt think it was wierd that we were teasting our reflexes one minute and doing extreme yoga the next. I looked back to my father and waited for him to finish chewing his food.
"Because we need to know what you two need to work on before we can start working on one thing at a time."
"So..what do you guys think so far?" I had throught we were doing pretty good but I had no idea how good everyone els was doing.
"Wel you two are doing better than I did my first time." I looked at Shaun and thought he must be saying that to make me feel better. I didnt see him as the kind of guy to be weak, but I looked at my father and he was smiling.
"Yes I remember when you first came here and asked me to train you, took you three tries to get to the top of that tree. But you were pretty young then."
"How old were you then?" I wonder why he came here, or where he was before then.
"Ohh I dont know about eight." EIGHT! That is way to young for a kid to be training.
"How long have you been here?" Mark acted like that kind of thing was normal, and I thought I was young to start training.
"Going on elevan years now right?" He looked at my father and he nodden as in conferming the answer. Wait, elevan years. that would only make him..
"That means you about nineteen?" He nodded and continued the convosation he was having with Mark and my father. Okay..was I the only one who thought something was odd here? I guess so.
We finished our lunch and headed back out to the arena. Everything was set up into a course that led around and through the entire village, it looked like the kind of thing the army dose. Crawling under and over things, climbing ropes, jummping from platform to platform, getting over one of those spider net things and alot of other stuff. Mark elbowed me and pointed above us and I was the couses led us into the tree for a high ropes course kinda thing. I didnt even consider opening my mouth about it, things were bound to get harder so I might as well enjoy the simple things while I still had the chance.
"Okay so the rules are, if the platform has a blue marker.." Shaun held up a bunch or blue flags and placed them on most of the platforms while explaining the rest of the rules."It means you can not touch the ground, if you do you have to start over from the begining. If it has a red marker you can touch the ground. When you get up into the trees if you fall you have to start over, last one done has to start early tomorrow morning." Okay that sounded easy enough. They went throught the course explaining witch way to go and how to do every obstical, Mark and I had two diffrent ways to go so we didnt get in eachothers way or try to push the other off too get ahead. We were ready to go and waited for our signal to begain.
"One last thing, pace ourself because you cant stop for more than five seconds." I looked at my father in disbeliefe. He just gave a sly smile and gave the signal to go. I turns out it wasnt as easy as I had thought. Trying to run and jump five feet after climbing a ten foot wall and swinging from rope to rope without stopping is a little tiering. By the time we got to the ropes course in the trees we both had started over atleast once. I was ahead of Mark and on my last obstikle, all I had to do was cross a foot bridge and I was done! There was only one problem, well okay three problems. The bridge was only about three inches wide, that wouldnt have been so bad exept the fact it was getting really windy and I had like twenty more feet to go.
"Keep going Roxy, Five secon rule!" I looked down at my father and took a deep breath.
"I can do this. I can do this. I can do this..." I can do this! I continued walking trying to balence myself with my arms. I had two more feet to when I lost my concentration. Before I could relize what had happened I was falling. You know what you see someone in a really bad situation and you say 'I winder what going throught thier head?' well it isnt anything that specil. The only thing I could think about was how much it was going to hurt when I hit the ground. But it didnt hurt, before I could even get close to the ground a pair of strong arms scooped my up and set me safly down on my feet.
"Kaden.." I looked up at him like he had just strode in on a white horse and slayed a dragon for me.
"Are you okay?" Boy was he handsome. I nodded, the site of him stole my breath away. He still held me in his arms, this was the second time he had saved my life. Not that I would ahve died yesterday I was just hyperventalating but still.
"Im just a little shaken up that all." He let go of me and for a second I felt sad, I wanted to stay in his arms. He was about to walk away but then he turned back to me with a puzzled look on his face, like he was trying to figure out what was wrong with me.
"Ohh, let me see" He grabbed my chin and turned it side to side. What the hell is he doing?!
"Very nice, more golden than orange though...." What was he talking about? Everyone was rushing up to us well almost everyone Shaun stayed behind for a couple momens then walked off in the other direction.
"they look like cats eyes too." I looked back at Kaden and relized what he was talking about. I guess my eyes have changed like my father said they would.
"Roxy are you okay honey?!"
"Yeah dad im fine, just shaken up." He nodden but I dont think he belived me, he looked more scared than I was. Mark had made it through the whole course by now and came to stand next to me.
"I guess you better get a good night sleep tonight huh." I had the urge o smack him upside the head but I guess it was my fault I lost. I headed back to the arena and cooled down. Mr.Lurence came and sat next to us giving Mark a pat on the back then looking at our father.
"I think that is enough for today." We all nodded our heads and went off to get cleaned up. I went up to my room and got a change of clothes.
"A nice hot bath would be great right now." So all I have to do is find Kaden.
Chapter 5:
"Dad have you seen Kaden?" I didnt want to interupt him and Shaun but I really wanted a hot bath!
"Yeah he headed into the woods just a minute ago." I pointed past the stables and I started to head that way.
"Wait Roxy come here a minute, let me see your eyes." Wow I had forgotten all about that, I guess I was going to have to cheak them out after my bath. That is if I ever find Kaden. My father did the same thing as Kaden had done, taking a hold of my chin and turning my head to see each eye. He let go and sat back.
"What do they look like I havent seen them yet." He thought about it for a second and then came to his conclusion.
"They arnt a bold orange like the ribbons you where but like daisy's fur, and they look like cats eyes too."
"Where is Daisy anyway? I havent seen her since this morning." At that moment she popped her head out from behind Shaun and gave a delighted moew. Say buy to my father and Shaun we headed in the direction father said Kaden had gone. We had walked pretty far into the forest and I was about to go back but then I heard something in the bushes. I would have thought nothing of it but Daisy herd it too. I shouldnt have but I got scared, I was all alone and I didnt know how to defend myself yet.
"Kaden..." If it was Kaden I had nothing to worrie about, and if it wasnt him maybe it wouldnt attack me if it thought I had someone els with me. Right?
"Roxy? Is that you?" I let out a breath I didnt even know I had been holding and watched as Kaden emurged out of the bushes with Lanten waddeling right behind him.
"I have been looking all over for you two. I was wondering if you could hook me up with a hot bath again?" Suddenly I felt embaressed looking all around for him just to ask for a hot bath. But he didnt seem to think of it that way he just gave me a handsome smile and simply replyed
"Sure." He led the way, while Daisy and Lanten chased ahead of us. I was quite and starting to get uncomfortable, we hadnt said anything since we started walking.
"I had forgoten to say thank you for catching me earlier."
"Oh its no problem, if I didnt im sure someone els would have, I was just closer." I nodded and it got quiet again. I'm starting to think I should really pay attention to where i'm walking. I was so worried about thinking of something to say I tripped over a fallen branch. And again Kaden caught me, he pulled me back up on my feet but didnt let go right away. Honestly I didnt want him to let me go either. We stood facing eaching other, for a second I thought he was going to kiss me and I was half tempted to let him. But he didnt he let me go with a reluclent sigh and we kept walking.
"Thank you." I was looking at the ground this time making sure I didnt trip again, okay really I didnt want him to see me blushing but it help me keep my balence all the same. He didnt say anything just kept walking but I could tell he was thinking. We finally reached the river and Lanten heated it up for me. Kaden turned to leave but then looked back at me a little unsure of him self.
"Do you like horses?" It sounded more like a plea than a question and I just nodden my head. "Would you like to go for a ride later to night, with me. I know you have to get up early tommorow but I promise not to keep you up so late." He was babbling trying to come up with something resonable. I held up my hand and he shut up.
"I would love to go for a ride later." He smile like a kid in a candy store and I saw him blush making his checks look like roses.
"So I will come get you after dinner."
"Okay." He walking off with a spring in his step that wasnt there before. I got undresed and slipped into the water, I thought I was gonna have the river all to myself again but then I saw Katara walking my way with her clothes and some raggs. She hadnt sen me right away but when she did she looked a litle surprised.
"Oh im sorry, I can leave if you want to bath alone." She went to walk away but I stopped her nad tld her it was alright.
"I could use some company." She thanked me and got in the water. I understoos why my brother liked her, or atleast I was pretty sure he likes her. Her hair was long and looked like sand, golder and reflecting the sun and moonlight. Her eyes were a clear blue like the ocean and her skin was pale besides a golden hue and the lite patter of freackles acrossed her checks.
"So I know you and Mark decided to stay here youselfs, but do you llike it here." I barly knew her yet she was the first person to even ask how I ws doing.
"Yeah its great here, im kinda sad I wasnt able to grow up here. Sure there are things I miss back where I use to live but this place feels more like home."
"Yeah I know what you mean, we are one big happy family here." It turns out Katara and I got along great, she was easy to talk to and outgoing. we talked about everything, how she knew my mother and how much we looked alike. She told me gossip about some of the villagers. We laughed and talked untill the water turn cold then headed for the village for dinner. She came and ate with me, Mark, my father, Mr.Lurence and ,Shaun. My father was glad to see that I had made a friend and so was Mark. They eyed eachother when they thought noone was looking and laughed at eachother jokes, which were not anywhere near funny.
"So guess after dinner you'll be heading to bed seeing as you have to get up early tommorow morning." I looked away from Katara and Mark talking about why he sun rises in the east and sets in the west and turned to my father.
"Accually Kaden and I were going to go for a ridding after dinner if thats okay with you." I expected him to tell me no, I had to get up early and there was no reson for me going out so late with some guy.
"Sure just as long as you dont stay up to late you have to get up early." I had to stop my self from asking him if he was craxy but then again things were diffrent here.
"Yes witch means I have to get up early too so im going to bed now. Roxanne I will come get you in the morning. Night" Shaun got up and left without another word and headed for bed. I thought it was just my imagination but he had been acting diffrent latly, not that I knew to well but still. I knew something was going on.
"Dad can I have a word with you?" He nodded nad we went for a walk, the two love puppies didnt even notice anything had happened.
"What is it Roxanne?" I knew it really wasnt my place to be asking but I knew my father wouldnt care.
"Well I dont really know, is there something wrong with Shaun?" I guess he wasnt expecting that because he snapped his head my way in surprise, but then it was replaced with a smile and we kept walking.
"Well no I dont think so. Its ture he hasnt been much like himself latly but that is to be expected with you mother dying and all right?"
"I guess, but none of the other villagers are acting diffrent." I didnt say anything but I could see the wheels turrning in his head. After a long moment he turned his head to me and gave me a look I reconized, it was always his way of asking if he could trust me not to tell anyone els. I nodded and he took a deep breath.
"I imagian the reson Shaun is taking your mothers death diffrently is because he was closer to your mother than anyone els was. And Shaun is the one to keep to himself I think im the only one who he accually talks to now that your mother is gone." We turned and headed away from the fire pit so none could hear our convorsation and we sat down at the adge of the village.
"When Shaun was little I found him up in the mountians half dead and uncontious. I found him and brought him back to the village and your mother looked after him and nursed him back to health. He woke three days later and told her what had happened." I waited for him to continue trying not to burst into questions. I turned where I sat to get a better look at my father and looked up at Shaun's cabin as my father went on witht he storie.
"A man had come to the village he lived in and killed everyone, him and his parents were able to get out and take coverage in the mounitans but they were found and killed, I cant imagian how Shaun had survived untill I got there, but I soon found out he didnt give up so easily. He came to me the next day and asked to train him so he could protect himself, I said yes and he worked night and day, while your mother looked after him giving her love nad support to make him feel welcome here. He grew older and fought along side me and your mother, like I said he keeps to himself. He respects the wemon and honours the men but that is as far as it goes for them. He may be a good seventten years younger than me but he is the man here I can trust with my life. Your mother was probably the only thing that kept him going throught the years, I hope it wont affect im to badly." I looked at my father and felt bad, he looked pained my the thought of Shaun taking it so hard. They were good friends you could tell just by looking.
"Why did you put him in charge of me?" He had said before that he thought we would get along better but I didnt see how.
"Well, you are a fighter Roxy and I knew Shaun would respect that, and also Hunter thinks wemon should stay in the village and worry about the children and the wonded. He dosnt like he fact that so many wemon go out and fight with us in the war. Shaun will be by your side nad fight along with you, where as Hunter will try to fight for you." My father kissed my good night and went to bed, turrning once to remind me not to stay out to late. I walked to the stable and found Kaden there geting horses ready for our ride. There were about fifty to fifty horses in the stables probably one for everyone in the village and then some extras to do heavy pulling or whatever. Kaden looked over his sholder when he heard me come in and offered me a smile and a rose. I took the rose and put it up to my nose taking a deep breath.
"Thank you."
"No problem" Those seemed to be the only words we were able to say to eachother. He helped my mount my horse witch was a beautifull chestnut with hair that looked like chocolate.
"C'mon I wont to shown you something." We headd out of the village and throught the forrest. I didnt have to worrie about strearing or anything my horse just followed his so I juat sat back and watched. After about five minutes the forest broke off and we stood at the top of a cliff. I got off my horse and walked untill I was a couple feet form the edge and Kaden joined in beside me. The site took my breath away, we over looked a valley covered in trees, rivers, waterfalls, mountians and cliffs. It was amazing!
"Look." Kaden pointed up twards the sky and I gasped again.
"A blue moon!" I wanted to jump up and down I had never seen one before. It reflected off the waterfalls and river and made the vally look like it was shinning with a blue hue. I stood there and stared at the site speachless for what seemed like forever, eventualy Kaden looked back at me and smile.
"You do like it, right?"
"Of course! Kaden its beautifull." I was still looking at the vally and he was still looking at me, I didnt notice thought. I was listaning hard I could have sworn I heard the waterfall in the distance. I still held the rose in my hand and looked down at it, I felt like a mesly little rose right now surronded by beauty that I could only wish to be. I could have sat there and looked at the moon for hours if I had the time, but I had to be getting back now.
"I guess I should be taking you back now, huh?" We both wanted to stay but I had to go back. He helped my stand and we headed back to the village, I looked back on last time at the vally and then at the moon before it was gone. We got back to the village and Kaden walked me back to my room, and again I tripped over my own feet. He caught me like he did before but this time we stood closer face to face. I could feel his breath against and I thought he was going to kiss me again. We stood there and he held me a little tighter as he leaned in a little closer, but then he pulled away a little anad looked up from my lips to my eyes.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, thank you." He was still looking at me and a big smile crept acrossed his face.
"Why are we whispering?"
"I dont know." We burst into laughter nad trying to keep quite since people were sleeping. We got up to my room and I put the rose with my other flowers and went back to the door to say good night.
"Thank you for tonight." Was all I could think to say and it was followed by the usual, 'No problem.' He stood thier for another second before grabbing my hand and raising it to his mouth brushing a firey kiss acrossed my knuckls, he never took his eyes off mine and held me in a trance.
"Good night Roxy." He left before I could say anything and I was left alone with the wind flowing through the trees.
"Good night." I whispered to noone and closed the door. Getting undressed and slipping into one of the lacey nightgowns, which might I add are rather reveling but conffy, I went to bed and slipped into a deep sleep the moment I closed my eyes.
