The Future Of High Gas Price's

Bill stood at the window praying for the snow to stop. Waiting for the snow to stop wasn't the only thing he was waiting on. The baby was soon to be born. Out of the warmth of the mother's womb into the freezing cabin that was to be his home.

Finally, the weak sound of a babies cries was heard. Around that same instant something deep inside Bill snapped. Down where the dark thought's are asleep and if awoken you can't quite them ever again.

"I know now how I can save my baby from this freezing cabin"

Bill pulled back the curtain that was separating the two small rooms. The mother was holding the baby close to her breast, trying to give it the warmth of her body. She looked up as Bill slowly pulled back the curtain. Standing there with his eye's closed and his arms up with palms turned inward and shoulder width apart.

"Bill...Billy, what's wrong. What are you doing?"

Bill stood there with his eye's still closed and a sly grin on his face he replied...

"Why I'm just measuring you for the fireplace darlin'"

    Hmm.

Just trying to economize. Use your wife and child as fuel for the fire, that is certainly a horrid thought. This is pretty well written, but very short. Thanks for entering the contest.
