Merewen smiles and takes off after him, her legs pumping fast, as tension leaves her mind. Ambrose's mind was running rampant with his thoughts of his decision and of his father's reaction and how badly he dreaded going back to the castle. Merewen hums as she runs. Making sure to stay right behind Ambrose, wondering if he regretted what he had done. Ambrose continued on his way still thinking and wondering as he did so not saying a word.
"Ambrose... do you regret it?" asks Merewen quietly. Ambrose was snapped out of his thoughts by her voice and he looked back at her and ran into a big tree trunk that sent him backwards onto his back holding his forehead where he had hit. Merewen sees him hit the tree and fall, skidding to a halt she kneels next to him and touches his arm.
"Are you ok?" Ambrose was knocked silly for a moment but he soon sat up and shook his head.
"yeah I'm fine." he says and then started laughing at himself. Merewen smiles and laughs.
"You should be careful… and what is your answer to my question?" she asks as she stands and holds out her hand to help him up.
Ambrose looked at her “I didn’t hear what you says; I heard you say something and turned to see what it was and ran into the tree.”
“Oh well then… do you regret what we did?" she asks again, slightly fearing what he might say.
Ambrose looked at her and shook his head "no, do you?"
"No." she says as she smiles, and sighs a sigh of relief.
"I didn't want you to regret it...." she says.
Ambrose shook his head "I don't regret it." he says which wasn't a lie he enjoyed it, but he still wasn’t sure what he had gotten himself into.”
"Ok. Well then I guess we should be on our way then..." says Merewen as she smiles again. Ambrose nodded and then took off running again his thoughts about her eased a little but not completely. Merewen takes off after him, deciding that if she was going to talk to him, she would have to talk louder. Ambrose sighed as he seen that it was almost dusk so he stopped and moved so that Merewen wouldn't run into him and looked around for a good place to cp. Merewen skids to a stop and turns around to look at him.
"Why are we stopping?” Ambrose sighed "It's getting dark and I don't want to travel at night, besides there's no real hurry so I thought we would cp out here."
"Ok." says Merewen. “Umm I'll go hunt for some fresh meat." she says as she takes her whip into her hand.
A
mbrose nodded "alright." he says as he watched her go and then he set up the fire and made two beds out of leaves and things that he found. Merewen sniffs the air, there was a deer nearby. Catching its scent she chases, her claws extended her eyes glowing in anticipation. Seeing the deer she lashes out with her whip, wrapping it around the fragile creatures neck, pulling it tightly she slices the deer’s jugular blood pouring to the ground. Walking to the deer, she picks it up and carries it to the campsite, blood dripping onto her back. Ambrose was sitting on the pile of leaves that he was to call his bed and watching the fire as it danced waiting on Merewen to return. Merewen sees the fire and smiles.
"Hello." she says as she steps into the light of the fire the deer draped over her shoulder.
Ambrose smiled as he seen her “hello to you to.” he says and then he seen the deer “what are you feeding an army or something; we can’t eat that whole thing by ourselves.”
“I know that, but we can leave the scraps for the other beasts.” says Merewen as she lays the deer on the ground. Opening her bag, she pulls out a knife, humming she quickly cuts the nicest part of the deer up. “Do we have sticks or something we could roast these on." says Merewen as she holds up two slices of meat.
Ambrose looked around and found two nice sized sticks and made points on them and then handed them to her "here ya go."
Merewen takes the sticks and slides them through the meat several times. Sticking thm in the ground she adjusts them over the fire. "Well that i'll take awhile." she says as she stands and moves over to Ambrose so she is sitting next to him.
Ambrose nodded "it will be delecious however when it gets done."
"Yeah, the deer was young full of life." says Merewen as she leans against Ambrose watching the fire blaze. The smell of the deer's blood filled her nose, making her slightly woozy but it was a lovely feeling. Ambrose smiled as she leaned against him and he wrapped his arm around her and kissed her head. Merewen sighs and nuzzles against him, her one arm wrapping around his back and gripping his side slightly. Ambrose smiled and lay his head on hers as they waited for the meat to cook. "This is comfy." she says as she smiles and sighs happily.
Ambrose smiled "I'm glad you are enjoying it as much as I . Merewen smirks and squeezes him tightly.
You are enjoying it to?" she says as she pushes him to the ground, so they where both laying them down. Ambrose smiled and lay down with her. Merewen smirks as she cuddles next to him. It felt so weird to just let her heart guide her. Ambrose smiled and held her close to him. Merewen just sighs and looks over at the fire. The meat was sizzleing slowly over the fire. Ambrose smiled as he gently rubbed his hands up and down her back using his claws gently to scratch it. Merewen purrs as he scratches her back.
"That feels good." she says with a purr.
Ambrose chuckled softly "I didn't know you could purr."
"Let's just say, that I only purr when really really happy." she says as she nuzzles against him.
Ambrose smiled "well i'm glad that I make you that happy."
Merewen smiles. "Do I make you happy?" seh says as she tickles his side.
Ambrose jumped as she done that and laughed a little "yes, except for when you do that." he says as he looked at her "that's a no no."
"Oh, a no no." she says as she tickles him harder. Ambrose busted out laughing and started rolling around trying to get away from her. Merewen keeps ahold of him though, rolling with him. Her hands searching for even more ticklish spots.
Ambrose shook his head "sssstttooppp" he says through laughter as he continued to try and get away and finally he did and he ran over next to a tree where he stopped to try and stop the laughter. Merewen smiles and jumps up but doesnt' chase him.
"Okay, I'll stop. And the foods done." she says as she walks over to the fire and pulls the sticks away from the fire.
Ambrose sighed as he got his breath back and his laughter stopped "you better not be lying to me woman, I may have to break bad." he says as he went over to wher the meat was.
Merewen grins and hands him one of the sticks. "Enjoy." she says as she sits down and begins to eat the meat. It was good and tender.
Ambrose smiled and took a bite out of the meat himself and nodded "delecious."
"Yeah, it is." she says between bite fulls, her sharp teeth easily tearing the meat. Ambrose was going at his as well and was enjoying the flavor of the meat.
Merewen finishes most of her meat and sighs happily patting her stomach. "So good." she says as she takes a small bag out of her bag and places the rest of the meat in it, it would keep the meat till in the morning.
Ambrose sighed as he finished his having not really eaten in a while he had plenty of room in his stomach although he felt really full at the moment and he lay down with a grunt "that was really good.'
"Yeah." says Merewen as she curls into a ball on top of the leave beds that Ambrose had made. Ambrose yawned and stretched and then closed his eyes and got ready to go to sleep. Merewen sniffs the air chekcing for any unkown sents then slowly difts off to sleep. Ambrose had already drifted off to sleep but it was a light one his ears staying open and even the slightest noise woke him. Merewen's sleep was also light her ears twitchign with each sound. Ambrose slept up until about dawn and then he woke and looked around and smiled as he seen merewen still sleeping. Merewen murmurs in her sleep as she curls into a even tighther ball. Ambrose smiled and thought that maybe she was cold so he went over and lay beside her to keep he warm. Merewen snuggles up to his warmth. She was slightly cold, but the ball, was just how she had always slept, becasue she was so used to being the only one to care for her, when she was traveling. Ambrose smiled and held her tightly to him.
Merewen smiles agsint him as she feels him hold her. "You warm.." she mumbles her speech distorted by sleep.
Ambrose smiled "and your cold."
"Mmmhmm." she says as she smiles and wraps her arms around him. Ambrose smiled and his tail began to wag happily as he kissed her head and began to nuzzle the back of her neck lovingly. Merewen grins and kisses his forhead. Ambrose smiled and lay there with her contently.
Merewen blushes as her stomach growls. "I think, my stomach wants food." seh says quietly.
Ambrose smiled "then feed it."
"But i'm comfy." she says as she sighs and reluctantly stands. Streching she walks to her bag and pulls out the small bag with the deer meat in it. "You want a piece?"
Ambrose shook his head 'no you go ahead." "Ok." says Merewen as she tears the meat and eats pieces of it, the juice running down her chin.
"How far away is your home?"
Ambrose sighed "it's about another two days worth if we keep the speed we kept yesterday."
"That sounds good. As long as you don't run into any trees." she says with a grin as she kicks dirt over the fire and grins. "well let's go."
Ambrose nodded and got up and got his bag and looked at her "ready?"
"Yup." she says as she smiles. "Led the way oh handsome wolf boy."
Ambrose smiled "yes my beautiful princess." he says and then took off running again. Merewen grins and follows after him. Easily keeping pace. Ambrose kept a good pace and would look back every now and then to make sure that Merewen was still back there but he would only do so when he was sure there wasn't any trees in front of him.
Merewen smiles as she sees him looking back. "I'm not going to lose you wolf boy." she says loudly.
Ambrose smiled and looked back ahead "just making sure." he says loud enough for her to hear.
Merewen smirks and speeds up so that she is right on his heels. "Feel better." she says as she laughs.
Ambrose felt her on his heels and he smiled 'no not really now I feel like your going to run over me." he says with a chuckle.
"I won't run y ou over." she says as she grins.
Ambrose laughed "why do I not believe you?" he asked himself. Merewen grins and moves over slightly so as not to be right behind him. Ambrose smiled as he noticed that she had done that and shook his head and kept running. Merewen continues to run beside him ducking under some low branches. Ambrose smiled as he seen her beside him and felt better as that was where she belonged not behind him as they were equal now in his eyes and in the society of his people and when he seen her beside him he felt more like they were mates and were meant to be. Merewen humms to herself again as she continues to run, looking at the changeing scenery. Ambrose smiled as he heard her humm which he noticed she does a lot of and he listened to the tune. The song was a old one, her mother had sang her, when she was a child. Ambrose sighed as he listened to the song and continued to run keeping his pace not tireing until late after noon and when he felt fatigue start to settle in he stopped for a rest.
Merewen slows as he does. "Tired?" she asks as she looks around.
"What's the name of this area?" Ambrose let out a long breath as he nodded to her first question and then he looked around trying to find out where they were.
"uummm I think we are in the trylock forest, why?"
"Just wondering, it's less dense or so it seems then the forest around my home.
Ambrose nodded "yeah, there is more people in this area so the forest has been cleared for their purposes."
"I see." says Merewen as she sniffs the air, the smell of people and there homes slightly drifted into her nostrils.
Ambrose sighed "you ready?"
"Whenever you are." she says as she kicks up some dead leaves off the ground.
Ambrose smiled "alright let's go." he says as he took off once again. Merewen grins and runs off after him. Ambrose smiled and ran happily through the forest thinking to himself that they may get to his kingdom a little earlier than expected. Merewen follows beside him, perhaps a few steps behind him, just so she don't lose him. Ambrose smiled but it faded as a filir scent filled his nostrils and he stopped and sniffed the air.
Merewen stops. "What's wrong?" she says as she looks over at him.
Ambrose sighed and looked at her "I think I misjudged where we were last night because it seems as though we have reached my kingdom." he says.
"We have?" she says as she grins. “That's good.“ says Merewen as she smiles. "Urm, should I change before we reach your umm home, I do happen to have blood down my back." says Merewen quietly.
Ambrose sighed and nodded "It might be good for both of us to change and bathe before we see my father."
"Ok." says Merewen as she smiles. "Where do we bathe?"
Ambrose thought for a moment and looked around "there should be a small pond around here nearby." he says as he walked trying to get the scent of water.
"Ok." says Merewen as she smiles. "Led the way."
Ambrose nodded and found the scent he was looking for and followed it to the small pond "do you want to go first or should I?"
"You can." says Merewen as she smells the scent of a small lizard demon on the edges of the pond. Ambrose nodded and then stripped of his clothing and jumped into the water but regretted it immediatly as it was pretty cold. Merewen turns as she hears him splash into the water. Takeing her hand into hand she takes off after the demon, who was circleing closer to the pond. Ambrose seen her take off and he shook his head but went on with his bath. Merewen sees the demon and laughs, it was just a small one, perhaps not even a year old. Grinning she snaps her whips, sliceing it across the back. Hissing the demon races towards the pond. Merewen laughs, Ambrose was in for a surprise.
Ambrose was washing himself just going about his business when suddenly something bit him in the butt and he jumped out of the pond and was running along the bank yelling
"get it off get it off." Merewen hears him yell, and laughs. Running back to the pond she sees him running around with a small creature attached to his butt.
"Need help?" she asks as she tries not to burst out laughing. Ambrose stopped running and reached behind him and grabbed the little critter and looked at her as he tugged on it but soon let go.
"what do you think?"
Merewen laughs harder. "You looked so funny." she says as she walks up to him and looks at the creature, sure enough it was tiny lizard demon that she had slashed. "Though I think I may have sent this thing to you." she says as she smiles.
Ambrose looked at her with a pouty look "you did this to me, why?"
"I didn't mean to, I was going to kill the thing but.. umm I didn't hit it hard enough so it ran off towards the pond hissing in pain." says Merewen as she takes the thing from him and shows him the semi-deep gash along it's back.
Ambrose winced as she pulled it off his bare butt and he rubbed where it had been and then looked at the lizard "stupid thing should have found something else to latch on to besides my butt." Merewen laughs again looking at the thing she shrugs and easily snaps it neck, the creature screams one last scream before it dies.
"Well that was easy." seh says as she looks down at it and sniffs it. "Eww... It reeks."
Ambrose made a disgusgusted face and nodded "yeah it does, your turn for the bath by the way." he says as he walked away from the stench and towards his bag to get dressed. Merewen shrugs her shoulders and launches the dead lizard deep into the forest. Shedding her bag and clothes in a single motion she dives into the poem, shivering as the cold water surronds her. Shaking her head she washes it as best she can with out no soap. Next you furisously scrubs her body. Shviering slightly she walks out of the pond, reaching into her bag she throws on the only other thing she brought, a short kimono like dress that was black with silver dragons around the edges, A red sash made it fit tight around her waist, the whole the thing went down to about her knees, under it she wore a pair of tight fitting shorts. Ambrose had changed into the most elegant clothing that he had took with him and had taken his hair down and had combed it out with his claws and sighed as he seen that was the best as he could do and he looked back to see if Merewen was ready to go through with this. Merewen stuffs her dirty clothes in the bag and places it on her back, her green whip attached to her side. Turning she looks over at Ambrose and nodded her head, he looked good in the elegant stuff. Ambrose smiled
"you look wonderful." he says "are you ready to meet my family then?"
"You don't look half bad either." says Merewen as she smirks. "I suppose." she says as she walks over to him and wraps one of her arms around his.
Ambrose nodded "alright then let's get this over with."
Merewen laughs. "You don't like your parents?" asks Merewen, even though she knew that it was probably true.
Ambrose sighed "mother is ok, it's father who I have taken a disliking to."
"Oh.Why?" asks Merewen as she looks over at him.
"Father and I just don't see eye to eye that's all."
"Oh, I know that problem." says Merewen. "Come on lets run, just feel the air, take your mind off of things for a little while."
Ambrose sighed and nodded 'alright." he says as he took off running. Merewen shakes her head and follows him closely, still slightly behind him, so she wouldn't lose him. Ambrose ran and felt the wind in his face and felt it in his hair but it didn't calm his nerves as he could hear his father's voice now and he wasn't looking forward to it at all Merewen sniffed the air as she ran, they where closer to a area of civilation. Ambrose ran until he was at the gates to the castle and he looked up and seen the guards who were frantically running around to open the gates recognizing him immedialty. Merewen stops as she sees the gates. Looking around she walks up to them, a few paces behind Ambrose. Ambrose sighed and as the gates opened he went inside and looked behind him to make sure Merewen was still there.
Merewen follows him. "I'm comeing." she says as she looks around, new smells invadeing her nose.
Ambrose smiled at her and nodded and no sooner than he turned around he seen the very angry look of his father and he sighed "help me for I need it badly." he says to what ever god was listening at the moment. Merewen hears him and walks up beside him, smieleing politely she looks up at the man who was Ambrose father. Ambrose looked a great deal like his father only his father was older and had a beard. The look in his eyes however was a deadly one and Ambrose noticed it and he didn't take his eyes off of his fathers
"Merewen, do me a favor and follow my sister beside you to a room and I will join you shortly." he says softly.
Merewen looks at the female next to her. "Urm.. okay." she says softly as she moves to follow the sister. Ambrose's sister Mary leads Merewen away from where the two males were and into the caslte. meanwhile Ambrose continued to keep eye contact with his father as his father walked cloer to him until finally he was up in Ambrose's face and then he punched Ambrose with everything he had in his muscular arms sending Ambrose to the ground.
"you stupid son of a bitch." Ambrose's father yelled at him "how dare you take off like that and not allow yourself to be caught, I should strpi you of your title as prince." he hissed.
Merewen looks Ambrose's sister up and down. "So how old are you?" asks Merewen as she attempts not to hear the yelling. Wondering if Ambrose was alrgiht or not.
Mary smiled "I'm thirteen." she says as she also tried to ignore the yells and that were coming frim outside. She knew that her brother was in big trouble this time and if he had been smart would have stayed away.
"So how important was it that your brother find a mate?" asks Merewen as she studies the castle, so that she would know her way out if the need to leave in a hurry arrived. "It was important that he mate before his eighteenth birthday or he would die, but he was supposed to mate with this princess named Mia who he was promised to and her father was the one who put the curse on him.
"Oh my.. well I'm going to tell you something..." says Merewen as she shakes her head. "Your brother's cruse is gone... he's mated."
Mary's eyes widened "you mean your his mate?" Merewen laughs at the girl's face.
"Yes. Me and your brother are mated. Though I don't think y ou should tell anyone just yet." says Merewen as she smiles at the girl.
mary shook her head "Father will be furious."
"Your brother says that." says Merewen as she shrugs. "But it was your brothers choice."
Marys sighed and shook her head "poor Ambrose." she says as she went to the window and was surprised that neither her brother nor her father were out there anymore.
