Chapter 1

Platform 9 3\4

I stood waiting for the train to arrive with my friend Katie. We were opposites in many ways. I was tall blond and had blue eyes; I looked like a classic American. Katie had dark hair and had green eyes; she looked very Italian although Katie was just a little shorter than me. Both of us, we were transfers from the Salem Witch Academy. We were also both animagues. Katie was a cougar, strong and powerful. I was a white wolf, a strong hunter, loyal. Her feature was the unique color of her fur it was dark brown, mine was the color of my eyes, icy blue. Katie and I had been best friends for a long time. The headmaster at the Salem Witch Academy thought we would have more of a challenge at Hogwarts. Our blood ran thickly with Wicca. So instead of using wands we could use are hands but we needed wands for Hogwarts.

“Katie I am going to go look for Will.”

Will was my boyfriend he also went to school with us until he was accepted to Durmstrang. I anxiously looked for the familiar black hair and his dark brown eyes. I saw black hair but it wasn’t Will’s. I wondered over but this boy wasn’t Will, he was-was, what’s that famous kids name. Whatever I returned to looking for Will.

“WILL!!” I squealed.

My feet started to quicken. To my surprise he had grown I hadn’t seen him this summer at all.

“You grew! You are finally taller than me.”

“Ha-ha. Nice to see you to too. You have no idea how much I missed you. By the way I have a gift for you.” He said.

“What it is!!”

“This.”

With that he leaned down and kissed me. That’s right he kissed me right in front of all those people.

“You know.” I said in a dream like state.

“That’s the best gift you have given me.” He kissed me again. But more gently.

“Excuse me break it up lover birds.” Katie said.

“Fine, uum? Katie do you know what year we will be in??”

She said the fifth year and that we would sorted in private. Yes we where 15 and going to Hogwarts. We finally got on the train and sat down in a compartment. We all started talking about the summer and how we spent it. I went to visit Will in Norway. Katie went to camp and Will after I left he went to the Virgin Islands. Me I spent the rest of my summer you guest it. I spent the rest of the summer in Britain with my grandma. Then all of a sudden a pale haired boy entered and looked at us with a mild interest. Then left because we ignored him completely. Until then we all had a rousing conversation on the fact that we were all transfer students and that we were all probably outcasts at the least. I said I needed to go and stretch my legs after what seemed like hours of sitting. I was on my way back when I tripped right into the arms of the same black haired boy I had seen on the Platform. I looked up to have my blue eyes met with bright green ones.

“Sorry” I said in a far off voice.

“My names Harry Potter.”

“Leigh- Leigh Kozak.” I left feeling somewhat dazed. I had to stop thinking about him I had a boyfriend. We sat the rest of the train rise in silence. We got of the train and went up to the school in a carriage. We filed in with everyone but didn’t know where to sit due to the fact that we hadn’t been sorted.

“Will, Leigh and Katie come this way.” We fallowed the McGonagall into her office and we where all sorted. Katie was in Ravenclaw, Will was in Slytherin, and I was in Griffindor. I walked over to the table and sat down next to Harry. I couldn’t help feeling sad that neither Katie, Will, nor I were in the same house. The food appeared in front of us. I hadn’t been expecting this.

“Your accent it’s different where are you from?”

“Oh me the Salem Witch Academy in Salem Massachusetts.” When he gave me a blank look I said.

“You know in the U.S.A” He still gave me a blank stare and I knew this year was off to a weird start.

We trudged up the many flights of stairs until we reached a portrait of a fat lady in a pink silk dress.

“Lioness.” I couldn’t help but yawn. It wasn’t like a lady like yawn but one of those rude ones. Everyone’s eyes met mine so I hid my face behind my hair. I fallowed the rest of the girls up to the room in which we slept. My eyes lit up at the sigh of my pets. A black cat named Salem, and a Bald Eagle Kyne. The only reason I had one was because my mom was a conservationist and got one and gave it to me this year for my birthday. I had spent many weeks training to deliver mail and come home. I picked up Salem and went over to pet Kyne. After I had done that, I sat down to pet Salem and play with her. Just having them here made me happy knowing that I still had a connection to my home back in the U.S. As I was lying there trying to sleep in my teddy bear pj’s, I looked up at the ceiling trying to close my eyes. But ever time I tried to I saw a man with the whitest of skin, and scarlet eyes. He gave me this uneasy feeling. I got up and wondered down the stairs, into the common room. I found Salem and picked her up and started playing with her. She went chasing after the yarn with interest. Watching her do this made me laugh she had been a going away gift at seven weeks old she was nothing more than a tiny black fluff ball.

“Leigh?”

The sound of my name made me jump three feet in the air. I had already made a white fireball in my hand.

“Don’t shoot me.”

To my relief it was only Harry. He picked up Salem much to her discomfort she started yowling. Then she leapt out of his hands and started purring and rubbing against my ankle. He started to talk but he could tell I was on the verge of fainting. Then he said in a very bossy voice.

“Leigh I order you to go to bed you look like you will pass out.”

I did what I was told. And went upstairs and went to sleep but only to have my mind filled with the pictures of that same white faced man.
