She walked out of the room in a cloud of gloom. The missing pieces of the puzzle seemed to be fitting together now. She glanced in front of her and saw Ashley running his fingers over a pair of gloves. Suddenly she felt the need to be held by him. It was even a mystery to her why she felt this sadness for someone she had once felt the utmost hatred for. Ashley's eyes once full of love she had thought was for her, were now completely empty and barren. Yet another thought had occurred to her. The bitter realization that Ashley had loved Melanie all long. But why had he led her on for so long? And why had he kissed her in the barn at Tara...The details didn't fall into place, but the bigger picture had been conveyed: Ashley loved Melanie. Oh why did she have to discover this when her one true friend was dying. None of it seemed fair at all. Still in his arms, she knew she must tell Rhett. But it was too late, he had already gone.1

awwww.... i like that, and Melanie was Scarlett's ONLY true friend... considering how Scarlett was , cough bitch, needy, whiny, high maintance cough, i should quit smoking, lol, jk. but yes great write, i liked it!!
