Months had passed and summer had quickly turned to deep winter as Raven's hope had slowly begun to diminish. Several years had passed since she had first left her decrepit home in Dargona several years ago in hopes of changing the future of womankind, yet even at her current age of twenty-three she feared she stood no closer to her goal than she did back at age thirteen.
All government buildings, to her knowledge, were in far away Norav whilst she walked atop the frozen Lake Keldren nearing the town of Kendra. Her hopes of making it through the seven-hundred mile hike to Norav had slowly began to diminish for her hike would take her well through the treacherous reaches of the Black Rose Monastery - knowing good and well the dangers lurking in its endless labyrinths.
She slowly approached the end of Lake Keldran, but slowly stopped in noticing a figure at the lake's edge. At first glance, Raven thought it to be Sarina, whom she had been often thinking of for the past several weeks. The thought, however, quickly evacuated her mind as the figure slowly turned to reveal snow white skin and the darkest of green eyes which rivaled those of Raven, herself! The wind suddenly stopped as the figure finished her turn. Yet before a word could be drawn by either of the two, the seven inch thick ice beneath Raven's feet gave away, and with a light gleam in the figure's eyes and the wind picking up once more, the dark girl plummeted into the deep, deadly, frigged waters of Lake Keldren.
