Today started like any other day, alarm clock- snooze button, 1
-slept in. Shower- cant do a thing with my hair. Breakfast- no 2
milk!. Out into the car, Out into the car? 3
I'll say, there I was driving the last few mile's to work, the sun 4
hiding way behind the cloud's as the rain drizzled over the 5
windscreen. It was becoming obvious to me that the long hot summer 6
forecast was meant for another country, when this mad man sailed 7
right out in front of me, "FOR GODS SAKE YOU *** IDIOT what are 8
you doing?.9
"A Driver? Slept with a driver, no doubt". I Growled!10
A minute later as I was getting my breath back, I noticed a 11
tailback ahead. 12
I rolled down my window to hear from a taxi driver in front of me 13
that the traffic light's had broken at the cross road's ahead and 14
it was chaos trying to get through. 15
It took ten minute's and a sore head, when at last the final mile 16
was in sight I breathed a sigh of relief, but, work start's at 9 17
am and it was already 15 minutes past, have to hurry I thought. 18
When the next thing I look in the mirror and the traffic cops are 19
at my bumper, my heart races once again, Oh God, that’s all I 20
need, a speeding ticket, when WHOOSH they overtook me and flew up 21
the road.22
God sake! what a day and its only started. Arrived at work at 23
Approx 9.21 to a boss with a face sour as a lemon , What kind of 24
time is this? 25
"Sorry my alarm clock broke" 26
Well, that was the flavour of the next few hours, going at it 27
hammer and tongs, some of my staff not turning up, computer mal 28
functioning, lunch cold by the time I got to eat it. What a day!29
The hours dragged by, one disaster after another until 3.45pm and 30
it was time to knock off and meet my youngest daughter (who is 31
35 weeks pregnant, to accompany her for a scan of her baby. We got 32
to the Maternity Unit and I had a panic attack for God sake. 33
" Carina Mac?" the nurse said, and in we went to the ultra sound 34
room, she switched on the machine and what seemed out of nowhere, 35
there she was on the screen, the image of my first grandchild and 36
its a girl, a beautiful baby girl and I could hardly believe how 37
lucky I am and what a wonderful day this is as I thanked God. 38
