Semeral Sisters- Chapter 2

“So…is this a yes?” Jake asked, trying to hide the smile from across his face. April twirled a strand of thick black hair around her finger, and bit her lip.

“It’s a yes.” She said. As if she had to think it over! Of course it was a yes! Not only was this guy a babe, but he was also the funniest junior at Semeral High. Jake gave up on his tough look and a smile spread.

“Okay,” he says, running his fingers through his droopy blond hair, a look of shock on his face, “Want to meet me at Biscotti tomorrow, then? Around…eh…7?” April grins and nods.

“Oh my Gosh, did what I thought happen really just happen?” Jasmine approached as soon as Jake was out of hearing reach. April screeched. Despite her intimidating ‘I-know-what-I’m-doing’ act, April felt it wasn’t necessarily in front of Jasmine. They’d been best friends since 5th grade. That was enough wasn’t it?

“Your so lucky, that Jake is such a babe!” Jasmine says, holding her hand out for a high-five. The hallways are mostly empty, except for a few new kids, stuffing things in and out of their lockers. It was 3:30, and school was officially out for the day.

“Hola chickas!” Renee says, giving both girls a big kiss on the cheek. Jasmine rubs it off, quickly, disgusted.

“April’s got a date with Jakee!” she sings, skipping around the two girls.

“How’d you know?” Jasmine asked. April nodded, wondering if Renee had been standing there this whole time. Frankly, since she’d first seem Jake that afternoon, her head was high in the clouds. Beyonce could’ve been right there, and she wouldn’t have noticed.

“Um, I was spying. Duh. I do it all the time. Like I spied on you when you were showering the other night.” Renee blatantly confesses. The girls stare, wide-eyed.

“I am soooo kidding. Gosh, you guys are gullible!” Renee cackles. “Jake was talking about it.”

“Already? Geez, that boys got a motor mouth. You sure he’s your type?” Jasmine questions, a big smile across her face as she struggles with her locker combination.

“Yes, he is my type. I’m sure he was just…I dunno, telling a friend.” April shrugs, making her way to her locker. Luckily, Jasmine and April’s lockers were right next to each other. Unfortunately for Renee, hers was across the hall.

“That’s exactly what happened!” Renee chirps. Jasmine finally opens her locker, and to the girls surprise, a rose pops out.

“Oooh, someone’s got a secret admirer!” April sings.

“I feel left out.” Renee says. No one bothers to answer. They’re all too distracted by what hangs on the rose, and why it’s so important.

Great for a second chapter. It leaves you wondering how Renee will act toward these relationships forming. Good job, really, even if it's not usually what you write or what others like to read. It's well-written and creative!
