Black Nails and Pink Lips

Subtle things are beautiful.

A young girl giving her father a hug in the morning,
all so he'll have a good day.
The dew drops on a red flower petal
that softly glisten in the sun.
The whisper of confidence passed from one friend to another.
Subtlety is a soft pat on the back,
moving you forward through life.

Bold things are beautiful.

The loud laughter of a teenage girl
dressed all in black.
The bright feathers of a male hummingbird flitting from flower to flower.
It's the loud music pulsing out of a stereo system of a locked bedroom door.

Author notes

This poem was inspired by an old excersize that I did in one of my old writing classes. I hope you like it.
Just incase you where wondering about the title it's also supposed to show how the mix of subtle and bold things can be beautiful.
Thanks for reading and let me know what you think.
