Chapter 6 The Door knock1
“Call in the brothers we need to check out the neighbours see if they seen anything last cupla days. Somebody ‘sussing’ the place. Whatever” 2
A daunting site Bikers, in colours, doing door canvassing. A full day. The whole of Wednesday spent gathering various pieces of information from neighbours who want to remain ‘neighbours’. A meeting called at six in the meeting room. All information correlated.3
“A white Honda”4
“White Honda tinted windows”5
“White Honda two Asians ‘I think’ ”6
“ White Honda tinted windows rego. ASP00N” 7
They decide to roster and post one of the brothers each night, in case of revisits.8
Chapter 7 Selling the Proceeds9
The night club ‘party’ was in full swing, the music tempo and lights doing exactly what the organisers had arranged. The 10
numbers were swelling, the booze consumed in profitable quantities with fantastic mark-ups. Time was ripe to release the licorice smileys and out the went in huge numbers.11
The party was a huge success. Another arranged for next Friday. In the mean time Billy Ying and a couple of close friends decide to do some local sales from their van at a few local schools. The licorice smileys are an instant hit business is incredible Billy Ying has decided he needs to talk to some of his ‘friends’ about heavier, concentrated sales in this and other suburbs.12
He and Jo Yee decide to break-up the stash and sell in 100gm bags to close ‘friends’ to cover a larger sales area. In a short time he and Jo have been forced to sell their own ‘Pink ladies’ but unfortunately start loosing trade. 13
Wednesday morning found Jo Yee and Billy Ying, down to their last 200gms and through demand, Billy Ying is forced to sell from his own car, whilst Jo Yee is using the van in Clovelly. 14
The Randwick Police had received a tip-off from concerned parents, that she and her husband believed drugs were being sold during the recess breaks and after school, from vehicles on the street.15
After the third concerned parent call, there had also been a report of a vehicle parking across the top of an old man’s driveway every afternoon and students , in uniform visiting the car. Each of the students appeared to pass the driver something and each seemed to be gazing around as they put something in their pocket or bag or backpack. 16
The Randwick Police fearing local problems with P&C committees and Church groups decided to act on tip-offs. They pounced, unannounced, to any, except those in need to know, on 17
09 18
two schools in the area that afternoon, Randwick Boys High, Avoca Street and Marist Brothers at Peter’s Corner. Two arrests were made Steve Lowe had about six ‘Pink ladies’ left. Billy Ying was caught with eight ‘Pink ladies’ and two ‘Licorice smileys’. 19
The report was draughted and very shortly, as it does, 20
word had gone from one station to the next about these two Asian guys having been picked-up. 21
The joke of the day was that one of those arrested was driving a Honda with rego number ASP00N. Indications, which one would think, belonging to a pusher. Not a local XTC dealer. Mark Reilly happens to be a local officer of the Her Majesty’s finest in the Botany area. Mark has always been friends with a couple of the Rough Rabble, from his school days and knew of their dealings, in small quantities of THE only ‘Licorice smilies’ in existence. He decided to tell Tony. He was grossly concerned that these ‘Licorice smilies’ may tie the Rough Rabble to pushing or dealing in local schools, to school kids. The seed was planted and an urgent meeting called of the ‘brothers’.22
Chapter 8 The Release23
Owing to the small quantity of drugs found on each of these ‘baddies’ they had been released. They had been charged and were free to leave pending future court appearance.24
The charges were only possession of illicit materials, for self consumption.25
On arrival at their club house, Master Yu was present and said nothing as the meeting came to order.26
“The Triangle has had problems in the area of Randwick and Botany and holds grim circumstance for those 27
bringing bad face to it’s people. Take this as a stern warning from the elders of the faith, this type of thing can and will not be tolerated. If a business is to be conducted, 28
no matter what type, it must not bring the law or public 29
outcry, on any of our people. Those here are aware of whom I speak. I will not speak again”. He bowed and walked out with two huge companions either side. 30
The air was thin and cold and nothing was said for what seemed an eternity.31
The silence broken by Billy Ying, himself:32
“Look you are young, healthy, Triangle members we don’t need to listen to the ‘old and useless’ they have made their money and there is money out there, ready for us all to take. I have already proven how easy it is. We take from those ‘has been’ bike fools and sell to rich little kids. The bikers cannot afford to tell anyone of their losses. We have only them as a threat. I am to raid their place again soon. I have received information they are due for another shipment of ‘Licorice smileys’ from their factory in two days. I have a cousin who works as a courier. He delivered twenty litres of licorice dye to an address on Botany Road two days ago. Those of you not women or old men can join in.”33
The majority stood in awe of what had just transpired. No-one has ever gone against the elders. Three of the men remained as the meeting was disbanding. Billy Ying, Jo Yee and Phil Lo.34
Billy Ying has been trying to sell the Luger in many of 35
the hock shops he ‘knows’ but nobody wants IT or anything to do with it. This is one of the most valued pieces stolen from the Third Reich.36
The previous owner is known well to all hock dealers.37
Chapter 9 Find the Fools 38
The Rough Rabble had not been idle since receipt of the information regarding their ‘Licorice smileys’ and scouts had found and followed the Honda for the last week. The ‘cocky mongrel’ had no fear did not even check his mirrors, or if he did, did not care. They had followed him to the club house. 39
Knuckles Knowles and Tony Decide to mount a raid on their club tonight. Maybe they can find Hammer’s Luger. Maybe he can recoup his gun and / or drugs. Maybe they can stop these mongrels all together - whatever.40
The bikes shimmered and roared in unison as they thundered towards their opponents club. The mob was fearless and the sound of the bikes helped boost the adrenalin levels in each of the soldiers, as they rode to the attack.41
The six bikers leading the raid were all that were really needed. Shot guns, automatic pistols baseball bats in hand. The clubhouse completely unprotected. They proceeded to totally destroy everything looking like anything. Two vehicles parked out the back totally destroyed. Every door and window ripped out of it’s 42
foundation every wall holed. When the fifteen bikers had finished nothing in the whole place could have been used for anything. A small cache of ‘Pink ladies’ was found and confiscated. Club house, dishonoured, then had mounds of deification and pools of urine in strategic positions, thereby causing the most abhoration to it’s members.43
The Luger was not found.. 44
