Supernatural-Sweet Child of Mine

I.1

The windows suddenly slammed shut, which made sixteen year old Madison Winchester startled. She suddenly awoke from her sleep that night. She was fully awake now after hearing a loud noise coming from downstairs. Then, she heard footsteps. That’s when she came to the conclusion that someone broke into her house. 2

She slid her left hand underneath her pillow and pulled out a silver dagger. She got out of bed; her bare feet touched the cold, wooden floor. With the dagger tightly gripped in her hand, she walked out of the room and entered the dark hallway where she headed down the stairs. 3

Quietly, she waited at the bottom of the stairs, listening for the intruder. She knew that this person was in here somewhere. Maybe if she stayed silent, the person would come out, but maybe only if she could stay quiet. All she wanted to do was to go back to sleep in her nice, warm bed. But of course, she had to take care of this intruder first. If her father Dean Winchester was home, he’d take care of this person but he was on a hunt now. 4

There was another noise and it came from the kitchen. Her lips pressed together and a smile slowly appeared on her face. She was going to get this intruder real good and teach them a lesson about breaking into her house. No one ever broke into the Winchester home without getting taught a lesson. Sometimes, it involved getting injuries. Dean trained his daughter real well so she knows how to fight and defend herself in these kinds of situations. She knows how to use any kind of weapons. But even though she’s well trained, she still has a lot to learn and she’s not as strong as her father Dean. She needs more practice and Dean tells her so. How else is she going to get better? 5

Madison stepped off the last step slowly and crept towards the empty, dark kitchen. The only sound was the hanging clock ticking. There was shadow and it was definitely a person and it did look like a man. The person suddenly passed by behind her without her knowing it was gone. She paused for a minute and allowed the person to be left alone for a few seconds. Carefully, she waited for him to attack. She knew exactly what she was doing. 6

Once second later, his hand touched her shoulder and squeezed tightly. She took no more chances and grabbed onto his hand. Quickly, she pried his hand off her but she kept her grip on his. Accidentally, she dropped the dagger. The guy whirled her around. She kicked him and whatever she did, she couldn’t get distracted. 7

He grunted from the kick and went to punch her. She blocked his punch and was about to flip him when that person swung her around and kicked her in the stomach. She went flying and landed on the wooden living room floor. There was no time to recollect herself so she jumped to her feet and punched the guy right in the face. He drew back and she used that as an advantage and kneed him right between the legs. She could hear him moan but he didn’t draw back or rest. 8

Instantly, he grabbed one of her wrists with one hand and he wrapped his other hand around her neck. As she went to grab for his neck, she was quickly flipped before she knew what was going on and she lay to the floor on her back with a loud thud. His hand was still around her neck while the other squeezing her wrist. That’s when she realized it was her father. 9

“Dad? You scared the crap out of me!” She tried to catch her breath. Her breathing was heavy and she had a hard time breathing for the moment. 10

“Easy there tiger,” Dean smiled at his daughter. “Not bad kid but I do think you’re required for more training.”11

“Wait! What?” She asked with confusion on her face. “You were testing me? But I thought you were on a hunting trip for a few days?” 12

“Already taken care of. Let me tell you something; do not hesitate ever and always be focused. Oh and, be quick.” He stated. 13

She nodded at what he said. “Yes sir. Next time, I’ll better.” They let go of each other and he helped his daughter up before sending her back to bed. 14

Madison slept in late that morning. She was still tired from last night and going to bed late didn’t help either with that. She could feel the sunlight that beamed in through the window as it hit her body. She tossed and turned in her bed. Today was Saturday which meant she would be training. Dean tells her that she needs to train more. He wants her to be well trained, be able to do things he can, and to be able to fight for herself because he wants her to be able to defend herself. And the main reason for that is because one day, he won’t be here to save her. He has told her before about that. Something happened two years ago and that’s when Dean became a little more than paranoid and became a little bit more than overprotective. Madison was almost hit by a car when she was outside with a friend of hers. He had ordered her to not go out in the street but she and her friend were chasing each other and her friend ran across the street. She had gone after her and that’s when the car almost hit her. If Dean wasn’t watching her and if he didn’t get her out of the way in time, she would have been dead. After that happened, he drove her to the cemetery and showed her the grave of her mother. 15

That day, Dean yelled to her, 16

“Maddie, I’ll make my self clear: Children burry their parents-not the other way around! If you die before me, I’ll come find you in the great beyond and kick your ass for not being careful enough!”17

“Maddie, wake up! We don’t have a lot of time for training today so get up now!” Dean shook his daughter, doing anything to wake her up. It was 7:30 am and to Dean and Madison, seven o’clock was considered sleeping late. Dean gets her up at five in the morning. 18

She moaned and didn’t say a word. She flipped herself over and lay on her stomach where she pulled the covers over her entire body. He shook her one more time and then yanked the covers off of her and started to drag her out of bed. 19

Her eyes opened up and she was half asleep. He gave her a smirk before he ordered her to get ready. She hated whenever her father woke her up, especially when she was tired. She got herself ready. She put on jeans and a Black Sabbath T-shirt. Her long brown hair was straight and she decided to wear it down. She didn’t bother putting on a flannel or her sweatshirt because she would be training down in the basement and it was hot down there. 20

When she was already, she headed down the stairs. Her father wasn’t in the living room so he must be in the kitchen. He was in the kitchen but he wasn’t eating. All he was doing was drinking his morning coffee. Usually, he’s stuffing his face. 21

“Ready?” He asked her, looking up from his coffee cup. 22

“Yep, let’s get started.” She answered. He got up from the table and the two of them went down to the basement. 23

“So, what are we going to be doing today?” She asked him. Dean took off his flannel and kept his T-shirt on. She soon knew what they were going to do-practice fighting. Before she could realize what was going on and before she could get prepared, Dean threw a punch at his daughter’s face. She staggered backwards as she covered her face with one of her hands, then removing her hand which revealed a bloody nose. She tried caressing it. 24

“When something like this happens in reality, you won’t have time to get ready. You need to have quick instincts and don’t think about it.” He lectured her. 25

Instead of nodding, she punched her father back. She knew better than to nod during this. She was to think of this as an actual fight and not practice. They continued for about half an hour. Dean was impressed with how well Madison was fighting. She had improved a lot and Dean was proud of her. He’s proud of her for everything she does. She’s a spitting image of him but sometimes, Dean is overprotective towards his daughter. His daughter and his brother Sam are the only two good things in his life and they’re all he has. He can’t bear to lose her. 26

“Maddie, you get a great job today. Sorry we had to cut it short today but our plans have changed.” He stated happily. “Oh and you better take care of that nose of yours. It stopped bleeding, didn’t it?” 27

“Yes sir.” She replied. “What are we going to do today?”28

Dean stared at her and gave her one of his best smirks and raised his eyebrow. “You’ll see, don’t you worry.”29

Madison’s eyes widened with excitement. ‘Maybe he has a surprise for me!’ She thought eagerly. She couldn’t wait to see what was in store for her today. Somehow, she already knew that her father was going to give her a gift but what was it? She thought for a moment and knew what her father was going to give her…30

“You fixed up my baby!” She exclaimed happily. Her baby was a 1966 Mustang Convertible. It was black and her prized possession. “Thank you Dad!” She wrapped her arms around him. Dean looked a little uncomfortable. He really wasn’t into hugging. 31

“But you can’t drive it yet.” He said. 32

“I have a permit.” She replied. 33

“You know the rules. What I say goes.” He said. She looked more than disappointed. For months and months, she watched her father take care of her car and fix it up. She would gently touch it and sit in the driver’s seat, pretend to drive it. She would always ask Dean, “Is she done yet?” The answer was always, “No.” She so badly wanted to take her baby out for a spin. Her birthday wasn’t for another five weeks but Christmas wasn’t that far away.34

II35

“Madison,” She heard Dean call from the dining room. She knew right then that he wanted her to come and help him get everything ready for the dinner tonight. It would be time soon and they would be having company over. Sam was already over helping Dean. 36

She got up from the living room couch and made her way into the dining room. The table was already set and Dean and Sam had everything under control so why did her father need her? 37

“Yeah?” She said to Dean. 38

“Listen to me very carefully: Cassie is coming over for dinner so you better be civilized and be nice to her, okay?” Dean stated in a stern voice. She nodded and said to herself, “I’ll try.” 39

About five minutes later, Dean’s girlfriend Cassie walked in the front door. Madison took one look at her and already, she hated her. She was a thin African-American with long curly hair, she was beautiful (that’s why Madison hated her), and she was nicely dressed. Dean went over to her and kissed and hugged her. He introduced Sam to her, and then he introduced his daughter to his girlfriend. And about a couple minutes later, Dean and Sam’s father John Winchester walked through the front door. Madison was so glad he came.40

Cassie gave her a pleasant smile. “Maddie, I’ve heard so much about you. And you look so much prettier than how your father described you.” 41

Madison gave her a fake smile but she couldn’t tell it was fake. “And I’ve heard so much about you. Dad says you make him so happy and if he’s happy, I’m happy.” That wasn’t the truth but Cassie bought it. 42

“The food’s not ready yet so you all can sit down.” Dean said. His daughter thought about why he was making this dinner. It was probably because he wanted everyone to get to know Cassie. 43

Everyone sat down in the living room while Dean went to go get some drinks. He handed everyone a beer but he gave his daughter a coke. She has gotten drunk before when she used to secretly go to wild parties and drink beer there. Her father soon found out one time when she came so wasted that she thought there was a party in her house and she didn’t know that she was talking to her father about her secretly partying and getting drunk. That’s why Dean hasn’t let her drink since.44

“So Maddie, your father said that you won $180.00 playing some boy at pool. I hope that the money went towards buying me a good Christmas present.” John smirked. 45

Madison only smiled. “He didn’t know he was dealing with a Winchester.” 46

“Yeah, that’s actually how I met Dean he was hustling in a bar when he hit on me.” Cassie smiled at Dean and he smiled back at her. 47

“Wow, that’s awesome!” Madison responded in a tone that sounded so fake and everyone could tell it was fake. Dean looked up at her and glared. She gave him an innocent looked and shrugged before taking a sip of her coke and hid her smirk. 48

“Madison, you’re father says you want to be a full time hunter.” Cassie said to her. 49

She nodded and Cassie said, “Really? You’re not scared of the things that are out there?” 50

“If everyone was scared of what the day brought no one would get out of bed.” Madison stated. 51

Cassie just looked at her a little strange. “That’s very…true.” 52

Madison put down her coke on the coffee table and said like a smart ass, “Yeah, I know but that’s why I said that.” 53

“Honey, come in the kitchen with me and check on the dinner.” Dean ordered in a nice tone, not seeming mad. 54

“But I’m trying to have a nice conversation in a friendly manner and-55

“Now.” He grabbed her arm and yanked her into the kitchen. She took out all the side dishes and Dean took out the ham and everything was placed on the long counter. 56

“Madison Winchester, what has gotten into you?” He whispered angrily. 57

“Nothing, I’m just trying to be nice.” She replied sarcastically. 58

“Look, she means a lot to me and so do you but I expect you to respect her and treat her with respect.”59

She had never really been mad at him before until now. She angrily said to him, “Yes sir.” 60

She walked back into the living room and told everyone that the food was ready. Everyone then came to sit down at the dining room table and when all the food was on there. 61

“Maddie, why don’t you tell Cassie what we hunted a few weeks ago.” Dean suggested, glaring at Madison. She knew that it was more than a friendly request, it was an order. 62

“I saved them from a few zombies.” She spoke up, looking down at the table. 63

From the corner of her eye, she saw Cassie smile. “That’s really brave of you.”64

“Yep.” 65

“Do you have a lot of experience in hunting?” 66

“Yep.” 67

“What’s your favorite part? I know your Dad’s and Grandfather’s favorite part is the killing aspect and your Uncle Sam’s part is the research. So what do you like the most?”68

Madison ignored her question and looked over at her grandfather and gave him a smirk. He visibly knew that she was going to cause some trouble. 69

She raised an eyebrow at Dean. “Really? Dad, you’re favorite part is the killing? I thought it would be the part where you screwed at least three different girls in each town.”70

Sam didn’t know what to say and nearly choked on his food, Dean was more than mad, John tried not to laugh, and Cassie looked at the table. 71

“Madison!” Dean exclaimed. 72

“Did I do something wrong sir?” She asked innocently. 73

“What the hell is your problem?” He asked her. 74

“Nothing.” She replied. 75

“The hell you don’t. If you’re mad at me, take it out on me, not Cassie!” He stated. 76

“Screw you.” She shot back. She knew that she was in serious trouble for saying that to Dean. 77

“I want you to apologize right now.” He ordered. 78

She glared at her father. “And what happens if I don’t apologize?” She tested Dean’s patience. She was so going to get it if not now than later. 79

“You don’t have a choice.” 80

She laughed. “The hell I don’t.” She stormed out of her chair, knocking it over and went to get her coat on. Dean was right behind her. He grabbed her wrist tightly. 81

“Where do you think you’re going?” 82

“Out.” 83

“No you’re not. You’re going to go apologize for what you did in there, you’re going to be nice, and you’re going to like it or not. Now go.” 84

“No!” She yelled. 85

“Madison, do it!” 86

“No!” This time, she screamed. 87

The next thing she knew, Dean went flying back into the TV entertainment center and sunk down to the ground, looking completely shocked and almost confounded by what she has just done. Sam, Cassie, and John came running in to see what happened and to see if Dean was alright. All Madison could do was stare at what she has done. 88

“I didn’t mean to…oh god…what’s happening with me?” 89

Tears formed in her eyes as she grabbed her coat and quickly put it on again and darted out of the house as fast as she could. She ran down the block as fast as her body allowed her to and she got pretty far away from her house. She ran until she couldn’t feel her legs anymore. Mentally, she was numb. She had hurt her father physically. 90

After what seemed like a long time later, she decided to go back home. When she got back, Dean’s Impala, Sam’s car, and John’s truck were gone. All the lights were out in the house and she guessed that they went out looking for her. She crawled in the house through her window since she forgot her keys and then she crawled into her warm bed.91

“Get up and get down stairs!” Dean’s booming voice made her sit up in bed. She sat up in bed and saw that it was only 9:35 pm. She slowly walked down the stairs and entered the living room where she saw her father pacing back and forth. He stopped when he saw her. 92

“Where’s everyone else?” She dared to ask. 93

“Scared I’ll kill you without any witnesses?” He scoffed but he was being very serious.94

“Yes, that’s what I’m afraid of.” She said with seriousness. 95

“Everyone went back home. I want an explanation now.” He said. 96

“I really don’t feel like explaining myself.” She replied. 97

“Do I look like I give a damn about how you feel right now?” He said. 98

She shook her head no.99

“What’s wrong with you?” He asked her. “Why do you hate her ?” 100

“Because I don’t like her.”101

“You don’t even know her! Why can’t I be happy Maddie?"102

Her heart dropped. "You're not happy?"103

He shook his head. "No. It's not that I'm unhappy, I want to be happier with my own life.”104

"But everything's going to change!" She blurted out. 105

"What?" He raised his eyebrow. 106

"You're going to spend more time with her and we won't hunt or train that much anymore!"107

“Nothing will change, Madison.”108

"That's bull! You're lying!" 109

"It's the truth." 110

She took a deep breath and sat down on the couch. She could feel his frustration, confusion, and hurt all in one. He knelt down in front of her and put his hands on her knees. 111

"Oh sweetheart, I love you more than anyone and anything. Cassie and I love each other and I know it makes you jealous, but there's no reason to be jealous. A smart kick ass girl once said if everyone was scared of what the day brought no one would get out of bed….it’s time I get out of bed Maddie.”112

She scoffed. "Is that supposed to mean something?" Those were her words tonight when Cassie asked her if she was scared of the things out there when she hunted. 113

“Three strikes and she’s out.” 114

“Alright kid, you got yourself a deal.” 115

“I’m really sorry for what I did to you. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” 116

“It’s okay, I know.”117

To be continued…118
