An Angelic song filled the Ballroom. It was an array of golds and silvers. Red Velvet curtains draped the large windows. An Ebony piano sat flawlessly in front of the windows. It portrayed them so beautifully. What wonders this room had. Golden chandeliers decorated the ceiling. Paintings shadowed the walls. And at the very top of the stair stood something, even more beautiful. Princess Saiori looked over the massive room. It was filled with guests! Looking over to the ebony Piano, she saw her cousin was the cause of such angelic music. Saiori smiled, how could such a strong and beautiful voice, come from such a little thing. She turned ignoring the thought and focusing on her guests. Tonight was her coming out party. Tonight she would have to dance with every eligible bachelor. Lord knows why her father, who was a scale of a man, wanted her to marry so early. She had just turned sixteen. Her heart still wished to be a young girl. But she could not be so. 2
“Saiori?” her father's low voice questioned. 3
She turned, “Yes father?” a smile crossing her lips. His anger was well shadowed, but she still smiled. Her father could be like that. War had turned him rough. Sympathy was lacking in him, as was compassion. 4
“Lady Deluise, how are you this evening?” she managed to ask. 5
Lady Deluise, who was a cousin of Saiori's father, was also Lady of the Halana Mountains. They were treasured for the jewels they created. Lady Deluise had been creating Diamonds for ages, or rather her workers had. 6
Saiori smiled and listened as Lady Deluise began to recall, and tell all about how her father's business had begun. Saiori listened patiently, as she had been taught. She glanced over to where her father was. He was talking to some general. Suddenly, Saiori saw her father's face go blank. He talked to the General as if something terrible had happened. She hoped it wasn't something too serious. She excused herself from the conversation she'd been having and walked up hastily to her father. 7
“Father? What has happened?” she asked quickly. Her brown curls fell over her shoulders. She pinned them back up quickly, and waited for her father to answer. 8
“The People of the Mist have attacked.” he said quickly. “I want you to go to your room and stay there.” 9
Saiori began to protest, but he walked away from her clearly not, wanting to hear anything. Therefore, she walked out of the ballroom as her father instructed his subjects to head back for home where it would be safe. 10
There are two types of peoples, the Hamalans which is what Saiori is. And the People of the Mist. 11
Two guards followed behind Saiori, “This is so awful,” she muttered under her breath. She literally stomped up the stairs. Returning to her room she shut the door and rushed to slip out of her gown. She pulled on her Black pants and pulled on her light brown tunic. Her black corset fit over this. Saiori regretted her father not knowing her true identity, but she loved what she did. And it made her happy. She grabbed her sword, which she had to faithfully named Arturo. She was a fighter or more specifically a Freedom Fighter. She climbed out the window and scaled the castle wall. Landing on the ground she let out a strong whistle. A thunder of hoof beats sounded in the quiet night. The thundering came to a stop, and there before her stood her three companions. Adraine, who was an excellent swordsman. Camille who was the best archer. And of course, Mali who was a ball of energy. Mali had been training for two years to be a swordsman. He has not yet completed his test. Beating Saiori. 12
“Come on Saiori!” Mali whined. “I wanna go and fight!” 13
Saiori laughed, “You're all just aching for a blood fest, huh?” she said getting on her horse. 14
Camille readied her bow, “Of course, come on let's go!”
The four raced off through the woods at a thundering speed. Adraine rode hard behind Saiori, he was always beside her. Mali kicked his Welsh into a fast sprint. Camille and her Elegant Andalusian stallion lead the way. Four types of skill, all working together for one cause.
Saving their world.
For awhile now Saiori's father had been making decisions which made his people nervous. Saiori was determined to find out why. Her father was a secretive man, the war had made him this way. But Saiori was determined to find out what was happening to her father.
Camille rode ahead to check out the path. Adraine of course, stayed behind with Saiori. Mali just sat on his horse a ways behind them. 15
“When are we gonna get some action!” he said. Impatience in his voice.
Saiori sighed, “We'll get action, when we get action. You should not be hoping for it so blindly!” she snapped. Mali scoffed and turned back to his duty. His red hair explained everything about him. Saiori then looked to Camille, you would have never known she was so serious by her blonde hair. It was always in a braid and pinned underneath itself. Saiori always loved how Camille wore her hair. Saiori herself had nothing but a long mass of brown curls. It always bounced and was so hard to pin back. 16
Camille came galloping back, “We're clear,” she began, “But I would be aware, there's something out there. Not near, but something is there.” 17
The party took Camille's suggestion into account and continued onward.
Daylight was beginning to break, Saiori yawned. She was so tired. Adraine touched her shoulder, “Are you alright?” he asked. 18
“I'm fine, just tired.” she said midst of another yawn. 19
Camille suddenly stopped her horse and signaled the others to do the same. Seconds past with eerie silence. All the sudden, arrows rained down upon them. Saiori drew her sword, ready for combat. A charge of men ran down the hills that surrounded them. Saiori began to slay the approaching enemy. Blood splashed up on her face and into her mouth. She wiped it quickly and continued. A feeling of sadness washed over her. Or was it guilt?
Adraine swung his sword, slashing down many a foe. His black hair fell into his face as he fought. Mali cantered his horse through the group throwing his daggers first, then drawing his long sword. Camille pulled out her long bow, and fired arrow after arrow into the swarm. There were hundreds of soldiers. Where had they come from?
Saiori looked around her. There were many men surrounding them. Already Camille and Adraine were nearly overcome. Saiori made a quick decision, “Retreat!” she yelled to her companions. They took off at a gallop down the trail, but Saiori stayed behind. She continued to slay the enemy soldiers until they finally ran their swords through her horse. The mighty beast fell down upon her, pinning her to the ground. She gave out a cry, she tried to pull her leg free. She sheathed Aiden and continued to try. The soldiers gathered around her, “Surrender!” they said poking her with their spearheads. She raised her arms, “I surrender,” she laid down on her side giving up the fight. Her leg was pinned, she had an intense pain running through her arm and down her shoulder. She could only hope the others had gotten away. 20
The soldiers managed to lift Saiori's horse up enough to pull her out. She could stand and walk, so they let her do so. They took her sword and removed her belt which sheathed her sword. They bound her hands and led her down the path and through the woods. They walked for what seemed like hours, the trees formed a huge canopy over the forest. Shading out any sunlight, and stopping the wind from blowing through. It also made her a little lost. She wasn't exactly sure where they were going. And she was trying to figure it out too, but they continued to change direction, and she was getting weaker by the minute. She began to stress how serious the wound might be. Blood had stained her arm, and was trickling down. It throbbed with pain at every movement, every step. 21
“I need to stop,” she finally said breathless. One turned to look at her, “Are you wounded?” he asked. She nodded. He called up ahead and talked with the leader for a moment. He nodded and the whole group sat down to rest. The soldier pointed for her to sit down, she did so. He looked at her arm and began to clean it. She was silent the entire time. When the soldier finished bandaging the wound, they continued walking. Another four hours and they finally came to a village. Walking through it Saiori saw sad things. Horrible and tear jerking things. Children alone and dirty sitting beside the homes. Little children taking care of babies, they had no mothers. They took Saiori to a tent and pushed her inside. A man sat at the desk, Saiori gasped when she realized who it was. 22
He looked up, same surprise. 23
“You can leave her, go now.” he instructed his men. Once alone he rushed up to her and untied her hands. They embraced each other in a slow gentle kiss. The two hugged each other, 24
“I thought we would never see each other again!” she said hugging him tighter. He kissed her forehead, 25
“What were you doing out there” he asked. 26
“I was fighting,” she began, “I wanted to see how everything was.” 27
“You shouldn't be out here. This is serious, I don't want you to get hurt.” he looked to her arm, “You're already hurt..” he sighed. 28
She smiled, “It's alright, I don't think it's too bad.” 29
“ Saiori, I love you and, I don't want to see you hurt.” 30
“Stop fussing Gabriel,” she said kissing him. He enveloped her in his arms, the two gave each other the most sensual kiss. They parted each shedding a tear, 31
“I plan on giving you at least a thousand more of those,” he commented. Saiori laughed and hugged him once more. “I should be heading back, but how do I explain getting free?” she asked. 32
Gabriel looked at her, “Oh please, you could have killed all those men and you know it. Because you were wounded you were weaker, and I guess you just couldn't fight anymore huh?” 33
“No! I fought so my people could get free because I knew If I got captured I could be ransom. But my people they would have most surely killed.” 34
Gabriel sighed, “Just tell them that you managed to get free,” he took her hand, “You're wounded, tell them you passed out somewhere. Or better yet head halfway home then actually pass out.” he said chuckling. That actually wasn't a bad idea. 35
Did Saiori do his plan? Your damn right she did. 36
She walked the hours in the forest back towards home, and by the time she got halfway there she passed out. The wound had indeed weakened her. But it was nowhere near life threatening.
When Saiori woke up she was in a tent. Adraine was sitting beside her, watching her. He had a cold cloth on her forehead, and smiled when she woke. 37
“You're up, are you okay?” he asked his voice soft and deep. She nodded, “I think I'm alright.” she said sitting up. There was still a hint of pain in her arm, but not nearly the amount of before. 38
“How did you manage to kill all those men? We thought for sure you had been caught.” 39
Saiori looked for the truth in his voice,he didn't know she had been captured. 40
“I ran, and killed them off one by one. I guess I just had to spread them out, then they were easy.” she closed her eyes and reached for her arm. 41
“You sure your okay?” he asked touching her hand. She nodded, “A little pain, but it's not too bad.” 42
Adraine took her in his arms, “You are very brave.” he commented. “I am honored to fight by your side.” Saiori had the immediate urge to tell him everything. Tell him all that she knew. 43
“Adraine, I have to tell you something.” she said honesty clear. “I have..well..I'm in..I'm in love with a Captain.” she said her voice shaky. Adraine nodded, “Okay?” he asked nervously. 44
“He's our enemy, but I love him! And before you say anything let me tell you what's really going on.” she almost yelled. 45
Adraine just waited. Saiori told him everything, “Father has been enslaving Gabriel's people. That's why we're at war. He told us that they wanted our land and his throne. But they're rebelling! They're fighting for freedom, and I'm one of them.”
Adraine smiled and took her by the shoulders, “If you're a Freedom Fighter, then so am I.” Saiori let out a soft cry, she hugged him desperately, “Thank you so much!” she said crying. “Father will disown me if he finds out,” she said holding back tears. 46
Adraine hugged her even tighter. “I love you like you were my own. I will always be on your side.” 47
In that moment Saiori realized that she did have family. Her companions were her family. They decided then and there to go back to Gabriel and join him for good. Camille and Mali both became freedom fighters as well, determined to stay with Saiori no matter what.
Saiori and Gabriel shared a more passionate and deeper love than ever recorded in history. They spent every night with each other, sometimes just so they could talk freely with each other. And sometimes..for other things. Gabriel confessed he loved her over and over, he even asked her to marry him. She, of course, said yes.
When Saiori's father suddenly heard disturbing news about his daughter, he went into a world of rage, he publicly disowned Saiori, and told her never to return home. He also told her, if she left the freedom fighters and repented her sins she could return home. But as long as she was in love with the enemy, she was no longer his daughter. Saiori was alright with that, because she had Gabriel and they loved each other.
Saiori traveled to a smaller village with Gabriel. It was bad luck which turned the tide on their relationship. Her father's soldiers were waiting for them. Saiori questioned how they had found them over and over again in her head. But no answer would come.
They caught Gabriel and hung him for betraying the king. Saiori they took back to her father. Where she was forced to repent her sins and disown her love for Gabriel. She did so for the sake of her unborn child.

Beautifully written ...
~*~ Oh, passion, what might lies in your eye,
your crossed finger, in sway of breath
to bleed in unfinished kiss ~*~
A very interesting and rather imaginative story. Wonderful job. I was quite impressed with the details and the lack of grammatical errors. Nice one! -
i forgot to add in my comments. at the start you say Saiori has blonde hair, then you change it to brown.
"Her blonde curls fell over her shoulders"
"Saiori herself had nothing but a long mass of brown curls"

I did enjoy reading this, although I thought for sure that it was going to be a happier ending. I didn't see the hanging coming at all. I love the description and I love the time period you put it in. Wonderful!
