Forever and Always

‘I’m not pregnant, I’m not.’ Jade said as she sat on the toilet watching the six dollar pregnancy test. It was only two weeks since her last period but she just had to make sure. They didn’t use a condom, which Jade regrets right now, knowing that if they used a condom then she wouldn’t be sitting in her friends’ bathroom watching a stupid test. Jade stands up wondering what’s taking the test so long to tell if she is or isn’t pregnant. Picking up the box to the test Jade reads that she needs to wait another two minutes till the test is accurate. ‘God this feels like hours’, Jade mumbles as she paces the bathroom floor. Looking at her watch she sees that she has a minute left till she should read the test. Picking up the box again Jade looks at the way to see if she is pregnant or not, one line meant that she wasn’t and two lines meant she was. Taking a deep breath Jade takes a sneak peek at the test. Two lines; Jade looked the test in disbelief. “Oh my god I’m pregnant” Jade said as closes her eyes, puts her back to the wall, and slides to the floor.



“Jade come on, I’m serving this country and you don’t want to make love to me?” Isaac said as he pulled on Jades’ tank- top.

“Who said I didn’t want to make love to you?” Jade asked as she pulled away from Isaac and stood up in front of him. Taking a deep breath in Jade looks at Isaac, he’s everything she wanted in a man and more. His blonde hair had caught her eye the first time they met and his hazel eyes made the masterpiece complete. With Isaac being in the Marians, he has a perfect body.

“Well let’s see” Isaac says as he starts to crawl towards Jade with a smirk across his face. “You’re over there and I’m here” he said as he stopped in the middle of the bed. Looking at Jade, Isaac starts to take off his undershirt and boxers. Before he gets to his boxers Isaac looks up at Jade and motions her to the bed. “Come on Jade I know you want to… what if I have to leave for some other country for months on end?” Isaac asked as he started to pout.

“Ok, ok, you don’t have to pout” Jade giggled as she slid into bed next to Isaac.



“Baby, I have question for you,” Jade managed to get out as she rested her head on Isaacs’ chest.

“Huh?” Isaac mumbled.

“Would you be happy if I got pregnant?”

“Duh, Jade. Why wouldn’t I be?”

“Oh I don’t know, let’s forget I asked ok?” Jade whispered as she repositioned her head and closed her eyes.



“Damn it Jade!” Mary, Jades mother, screamed. “You are only nineteen, you have no idea what love is and if you do then it’s not real. You and Isaac aren’t in love, you’re in lust. You are still a child.”

“I do know what love is and you know what at least we have been dating longer than you and dad ever did…oh wait what dad?” Jade yell back at her mom.

“Don’t you dare belittle me” Mary snared at her daughter. “Get out of my face. I don’t want to see you”. Mary said as she turned away from Jade and continued her paper work.



‘I don’t think I can do this’; Jade sighed as she plopped onto her friends bed. It had already been four months since Isaac and Jade started and it has been three weeks since she has last seen Isaac; three weeks since they did the unspeakable. It felt so right at the time but now it just feels like she has ruined everything.

“Jade, come on he said that he would be happy if you were, and you are, so what are you worried about?” Liza asked as she sat next to Jade. “I don’t know, it’s just that…oh I don’t know.” Jade mumbled as she put her head into her hands. Isaac had left for California…….
