The Little King

There was once a young prince, who's father died whilst the young one was only seven years old, leaving him to be king. But the young prince was not a fool for his age, he was actually quite the smart child. He was smarter than all the children who were tutored with him, and his name was Louis-Charles. Most people called him Charles, though, and they were overjoyed when he became king.1

The coronation procession was small, for the king didn't wish it to be big. Their country was called Sardine, after the little prince's mother, who died when he was even younger.2

The neighbouring country of Bass, named after their late king, was furious that the prince was to be king. They wanted his sister, the child of his step-mother and father, to be queen. Bass wanted Equlis to be queen because her mother was Bassian, and if they had another country ruled by a Bassian, an Empire could be started.3

The Bassian King, Bass II, compiled an army from all the willing men in the Kingdom. That, by no shock, was all the men, since they all wanted beloved Equlis to be queen. 4

"whilst" kudos for diction!! your story has sort of a cryptic, old english type style to it, which i think is fun to write in. sad! he's all alone! at least his people love him. except for the Bassians i guess. so, does the young prince feud with his sister? or does he like her.. i'm interested in their relationship.. how old is his sister? i'm guessing younger.. since it's his step-mother's child.. so maybe these kids have no say whatsoever. wouldn't it be ironic if the two are separated and fall in love.. or. lol.. i'm letting my imagination run away with me.. i'm wondering, too, if this will be continued and expanded on. i think it should be. keep writing ;D

Is this to be continued at all? I think it sounds like the beginning of a wonderful legend. Although royalty have a very priveliged life, things like this going on must be tough. Im sure there were many cases like the story you have written here that happened over time, and can you imagine how bad it would be in your little kings shoes? You have a lot of room to make this story grow, and I sincerely hope you do. I would love to know what befalls the young ruler.
