The Meaning of Time

In all of time, you wouldn't expect Libby Heitenschew to be walking down her street, staring at flowers.1

I mean, regardless of the fact if you knew Libby Heitenshcew, you would still think it to be awkward that she was staring at flowers on a Tuesday morning, let alone any day of the week.  2

Perhaps it was the fact that she just learned her best friend Amber Cellicini was in the hospital, because she was in a car crash, or because she just felt like being weird. Libby herself thought it to be the first one.3

She collapsed down onto the sidewalk, crying, why did this have to happen? Why did Amber have to be taken? Ok, maybe that was an exaggeration. Amber was not dead, or at least not yet.4

The five girls who formed a sisterhood, Libby, Amber, Dolores, Anne, and Melissa, all cared strongly about each other. Time was a strange thing, she decided. Time could hurt, squeeze, punch, care, hate, love, and most of all despise you. Whatever side of it you got on, good or bad, something would always tell it that you hate it, and it'll get back at you somehow. 5

Libby decided to run all the way to General Hospital, with just her flip flops. It was a 3 km run, and she didn't think she could make it until she reached her destination.6

"43B, please." she said to the nursing attendant, who took her to room 43B. When Libby got there, she saw most of the tubes and bandages were taken off of Amber. She was almost completely healed. 7

"Libby!" she cried out in joy, for she hadn't seen her in a long time, namely 3 weeks. 8

"Amber!" Libby cried out in similar joy, but not as happily as Amber did.9

"I thought you'd never come."10

"I thought you'd never get better, my fiery bird!" 11

"Excuse me, please keep it down in here, 43B. There are a few older patients who are trying to fall asleep. Thank you." The nursing attendant was clearly annoyed. Since when did she care for the older patients?12

"I brought you something." Libby pulled out a few crumpled flowers from her pocket, the ones that lined her beautifully aligned street.  13

"Thanks, Libby. These are the best flowers you ever brought me. At least I know your ok when you send me crumpled flowers, just like you always do."14

"Aw, thanks Amber. At least I know your ability to be mean hasn't diminshed."15

"It never did Libby, and it never will."16

Please tell me what you think, this is my first story. Thanks!

Interesting. Good base right now. I think you should add a bit more detail, describe your characters and put them into their situation(s). I hope this advice does not offend you if it does sorry but its just a tought.
