Lady Gwendalyn knew that her clothes would soon not fit. She asked her King for better ones. "Why would you need them, when the ones you have now are perfectly fine?" "I will soon be unable to wear them, my King," she replied. This only added to the puzzlement of him, but he still would not give her what she desired. He needed an answer that was more than she said.1
Many weeks passed. Lady Gwendalyn was desperate to get what she needed. She decided to tell him just what he wanted to hear. He had been wondering why she ate so much more, and why her belly had become slightly round. "Tarantula," our fair Lady said, "I need the new clothes for what is happening to me." "And what might that be?" he asked with amusement, for he was going to get what he wanted. "I am going to have a child," said she with a sad sigh. "My lover and I met back at home. It was a happy time, and this came from it."2
King Tarantula did as she asked, and gave her the clothes she was so desperate to get. By this time she was used to what the Dragon People wore, and the clothes did not bother her one bit. She became very docile, willing to help. But the good King didn't know what to do with her, and the news he had heard. He did as she asked, unwilling to upset her, and made her most comfortable.3
As the weeks passed, King Tarantula saw the changes that his most loved Queen went through. Her voice became quiet, her walking unsteady, her thinking unsure. He also watched as her belly grew large and round. She was very kind to him, most like loving, and she needed his body near her for comfort. In fact, she was learning to love him, becoming unable to be without him for very long. She needed his touch, his presence, his love.4
Time passed slowly for our fair Lady Gwendalyn, yet fast to her Dragon King husband. She was unsure of her future, wanting to be with the one of her kind that she loved. But with a child on the way, King Tarantula would not permit her to go anywhere far, nor without him. She was tired quite often, slept quite a bit, which was worrying the Dragon King. He worried enough that he sent for a Human to tell him what might be wrong with his beloved Queen. The news was that all would be fine, the child to be born soon.5
Lady Gwendalyn became very lonely, wanting the Human she still loved. King Tarantula saw the sadness. "Why do you cry?" asked he. "Tarantula, I want for the Human I still love," replied she. King Tarantula hated to see his lovely Queen so sad, sent for the valiant Lord Amadeus. He came right quick, for he wanted to see the woman he still loved with all his heart. He had a surprise waiting for him, quite a shocking one.6
Lady Gwendalyn did not see the arrival of Lord Amadeus, for she was asleep in the sun. Lord Amadeus approached her, unsure of what might happen. He touched her shoulder, said her name. "You are not Tarantula," said she. "Please tell me who you are." "Don't you know my voice, my soft touch?" Our fair Lady opened her eyes. "Amadeus!" she whispered in delight. "How came you here?" "The King sent for me. You needed me near." "Yes. Do hold me in your arms, Amadeus." The two humans sat close together, one wrapped in the arms of the other. "What has happened to you, my sweet? I remember you being small." "I am having a child. Your child, Amadeus. And it will be born soon."7
Lady Gwendalyn listened to her lover talk, and fell back asleep. King Tarantula watched all of this happening from a distance. He had his own reasons for bringing the Human male for his Queen. He wanted to know how to better care for her, how a male of her kind would trat her. He wanted to know this so that he might treat her in the same manner.

this is an amusing tale. I hope you find the end, as I hope to see the end.

So, I'm goping to take it for granted that Lord Amadeus didn't get eaten by the noble King Tarantula at the end of the missing fourth installment? *laughs*

Welll.. I'm thinking this is where I had two different endings. I need to find the rest of the story. I printed it out on paper, but now I can't find the paper.
