What is Love?

What is love?

Maybe a kiss?
It goes on and on, never stopping.
Full of passion and tenderness.

Maybe a fire?
It burns in the heart.
It comes without warning,
But is welcomed.
It consumes,
Your mind, your body, your very soul.

Maybe a scar?
It stays, and never leaves.
It makes a mark unseen,
To show it is there.

Maybe a burden?
A weight that weakens us.

Maybe a gift?
Given by the father of all,
To have and to hold,
In sickness and health,
For richer or poorer,
Until death do as part.

Is that love?

I liked this a lot, to tell you the truth. The ending, where you added a part of a marriage ceremony vows, made it so much better. The flow and main idea of it all kept me into the poem. Very good job. I loved reading it. Thank you for entering and good luck in the contest!
