Monica and Serena just chatted away, teasing and nagging as they watched various romantic chick flicks. From one movie to the other this continued till a few minutes past mid-night.
Serena definitely needed this. It helped her forget about the various issues that had been lingering in her mind on the way to Monica's house.
Especially what happened in the apartment before she left? She knew she had always longed for Jason in some sort of way but she never knew how much. That...kiss, made her realize that.
Now she lay wide-awake in Monica's gigantic room. Monica was already asleep in the next bed. They had both decided to go to bed once it was 1.00am.
But Serena couldn't sleep. Now that she was awake in this quiet room, Jason came back to her mind. It all happened so fast. The way he took her and kissed her. Why did he do that?
Was he really interested in her? Did he feel the same way she felt for him? No. She can't believe that. She couldn't. She had to remember that he was a demon now and that his kiss might have been some sort of scheme to lure her into the clutches of the DFS.
If there was anything she learnt from her past experiences of being an angel is that demons were capable of almost anything.
But this was Jason, Jason, whom she had once been a close friend with, who she had fought side by side with.
Now she lay in a state of confusion, wondering if the old Jason was still in there or whether he had actually changed and was purely evil, trying to lure her into his trap.
One thing she was sure about is that when Jason kissed her, there was no resisting because his touch, his taste and his warmth still lingered in her mind and most of all. She kissed him back...
Serena glided through the water as the hot sun tingled on her skin. If there was anything she enjoyed about being a mortal it was swimming. She loved the way the hot sun felt on her skin as she emerged from the coolness of the water.
"Looking good. Monica beamed as she watched Serena climb out of the pool. She was lying on one of the lawn chairs by the pool in a skimpy red bathing suit with a magazine in her hand and shades that covered almost half of her face.
"I feel kinda exposed. Serena stared down her own turquoise bikini as she strutted over to relax on a lawn chair next to Monica.
"You'll get used to it. Monica laughed.
"Mmmm.. I do need this though." Serena sighed closing her eyes. "I've had such a stressful week thanks for inviting me over."
"Hey don't sweat it.", Monica put her magazine away, "consider this place as your second home."
Serena beamed at Monica as one of the housekeepers brought them breakfast.
'Break-fast by the pool' Serena thought to herself 'If feel so spoiled I'd better not get used to this' she smiled to herself as Monica picked up the newspaper.
"Oh my!" Monica exclaimed, as Serena was nibbling on a piece of bacon. "How terrible!"
"What?", Serena said almost choking on her bacon.
"Look!", Monica said showing her the papers. Serena read the headlines in shock. '6-YEAR-OLD GIRL MURDERED IN ALLEY'. She felt a mixed sensation of horror, shock, sorrow and anger well up inside her as she stared as Cayley's picture, limp, pale and lifeless staring back up at her.
She gasped ever so loudly. "Serena you ok?", Monica said now looking very concerned at her friend's reaction.
"Jason. Serena muttered her eyes now blazing with anger.
"What? Monica's expression changed, "C'mon I'm sure he had nothing-", before she could finish, Serena had already hopped off the chair and was now furiously pacing back into the house.
Serena breathed heavily trying to force back hot angry tears from falling as she savagely shoved her clothes back into her bag. "I'm coming for you Jason. She muttered through desperate angry gasps. "And I swear to the heavens I'm going to kill you even if its the last thing I do on this wretched earth." She welcomed the cold feeling of vengeance as it flowed like a huge bolt of electricity right through her.
