Chess

The real world faded away as the girl danced. Her long hair shimmered soft as petals on a primrose flower. Afternoon warmth blushed her skin and sweet cherries dazzled her cheeks as she wove across a floor checkered with polished vanilla and auburn squares. Her ivory dress flowed about as she spun to music hidden in the sky above and her apricot lips revealed a small blissful smile.

Across the room a tall and handsome gentleman stood. His chestnut hair softly touched his eyebrows and his mahogany tuxedo enfolded his powerful body. A golden-brown rose was pinned to his chest and decorated with amber jewels. He watched the girl dance.

When their eyes met, life came to a halt.

The man breathed in the girl’s lustful face and body and step toward her. The girl swayed softly for a moment and then stood still. She stared deeply into the man’s caliginous hazel eyes. He stared right back into her luminous milky eyes.

And then they fell into a graceful dance with their eyes locked. They wove around each other without physically touching. They spun around and around the room, dancing in circles and maddening each other with the passion that blazed powerfully in each others eyes. They moved closer and farther away as they seduced each other with their radiating ardor.

They spun about until the passion became too intense and the girl stepped forward. Their bodies collided and they bent their faces forward to enclose in a rapturous kiss.

--*--...

Jim smashed his knight into the white pawn so hard that it went flying off the checkerboard.

“Dammit Jim, you don’t have to be that violent…” his partner muttered as he picked up the piece. “Aw man, you even put a chip in the thing’s head!”

“Dude, it’s just chess. And besides, who cares about pawns anyway? Oh, by the way…Check”

Author notes

This is an actual dream I had a couple months ago. I woke up crying because it was so SAD. And yet, it's probably one of the most beautiful dreams I've ever had too.
The reason the two colors are basically brown and cream is because that's how it was in the dream. This is exactly like in my dream. (except for the name JIM i mean who the hell is JIM???)
I think I went overboard with the adjectives though, and now I feel like eating something...

ALSO PEOPLE:
I know the ending is confusing but think about it a bit....heh

    Excellently Moving

Honestly, I really did enjoy this one Sterc. The whole beginning, with the chessboard layout and the dancing, makes it seem like a soft dream about romance and such, with you as the girl and.. well I d'no WHO would be the man.

Dancing and twirling in a romantic fit it seems, such as maybe your inner thoughts are? Perhaps it's what you want to have?

The end of it gets me bad though. I mean it makes me laugh, but it's very sad all at once, seeing as I feel you must be the pawn. Feeling like a man, a 'knight', just using you as a stepping stone, or worse yet, not even caring, and ultimately knocking you down completely. That last bit "Who cares about pawns anyway?"

Is that how you feel of yourself? I get that feeling.

The big thing here is the analysis of your dream, and what it means to you in all honesty. Perhaps your fear of men. Excellent job.

wow, this is absolutely beautiful. that must have been an amazing dream. I really like how they dont actually touch when they're dancing.
i will admit the ending definately threw me off a bit and it still does confuse me a bit, but i reckon thats how dreams are.
