I'm never any good at these, but here goes.
I am Basil Baradaran. I am part English, French and Iranian, although I only speak the first two. Despite having lived in France, Cornwall, Suffolk, and New Zealand I currently reside in Sheffield where I am doing a Ba in Animation.
Currently I'm reading an awful lot of new favourite author Neil Gaiman, mainly because there are very few Terry Pratchett books out there I haven't read yet. I'm also into classical literature (although I hesitate using that word), but I'm very particular about who I read from the "classics" section. Oscar Wilde and Rudyard Kipling are favourite choices.
I draw an awful lot, pretty much exclusively comic stuff - a style somewhere between British Beano-style and American Warner-Bros stuff.
I watch a lot of Asian Cinema, mainly because of how different it is from Western films. My faves include Battle Royale, the Infernal Affairs trilogy, A Tale of Two Sisters and Dead or Alive Hanzaisha, or anything by Takeshi Kitano or Takashi Miike. As far as Western films go, I like anything by Tim Burton, Quentin Tarentino. And Le Diner de Cons. That film is hilarious.
When i write i tend to either have lyricless music on (mostly soundtrack, not often classical), Belle and Sebastian or the Hitchcock Rules. Or anything indie, for that matter.
Also, I have a new Writing Blog going on but do not expect it to be updated an awful lot as I am terrible with them. It is as follows: http://theinflamedtime.blogspot.com as well as my deviantart which is in the "homepage" area of this profile.
