When Sophie's mother is murdered when she was a young girl, she meets a stranger and leaves with him. Only, little did Sophie know, she left with her mother's murderer to be brought up by him.
This is a working idea that I'm currently toying with as a possible novella or novel. We shall see how it fares.

what an Idea!
I will start from prologue, will go all the way to chapter two and after this labor, will post some comprehensive comments.
Or I will just read the story and toss a coin: head means your story was great, tail means, it's utter crap!
Or I will skip the reading part and just do the gambling! -

Time to toss the coin:
The idea is a nice one. I particularly hate vampire stories because the writers are too obsessed to Gothic stuff that they don't bother coming up with really impressive and real-world ideas for their stories. But here you have an idea from which if we subtract the vampires, we can still form a very nice story.
I think you have no insight where this story is leading. Is this true? -
Honestly, this is just simply something I've been writing 'off the cuff' so to speak, so no, no real plans on where it's leading... just writing it when I get the urge or have the ideas for it. I'm usually not much of a planner/outliner anyway, and some of my best work has come out without plans and outlines/just simply writing as I go along.
