I am a 13-year-old girl. I've been writing fiction since I learned to read and write. Mostly, I base my stories off adventures I've had, or wish I've had. A lot of times, I even base characters in my stories off people I really know.
Please feel free to give me feedback on the bits of my stories I've put in here. I'm working to type up more of all 4, but usually I'm just writing more in my notebooks by hand. I want every criticism you have, especially about historical accuracy. Don't hold back if you want to be nice, because I don't care.
In my story, Anssuria , Sam is an eleven-year-old girl who gets sick and tired of her everyday life. Her heart yearns for more adventure, and her family's ranch doesn't offer nearly enough opportunities for her spirit to be fulfilled. When she decides that her only hope is to run away, she packs her bags and heads to the only place she'd ever known to be the right setting for her wild imagination. As soon as she gets there though, Sam runs into trouble, and wakes up to find herself in a strange place she doesn't recognize. Soon, Sam has met some strange characters, and is caught in the middle of what seems to be a war-in-the-making. Now maybe this pre-teen has found herself too much adventure! I'm about half-way finished with this story, but only have some of the first chapter typed up and entered here.
In The Shandery , my main character is Kristyn, a pre-teen girl with two younger siblings, one brother and one sister. For her, when one of her friends invites her and others to a cabin in the Rocky Mountains, an average day turns into a mystery involving possible treasure, and maybe more danger than she or her friends had bargained for! I've only just started this, but I'm working on typing up more of what I've already written.
The Valley Worker is the story I've been working on the longest. Anna is the main character, living with her mother and younger brother, Teddy. Her father and older sister, Clarissa, are missionaries in Mexico. One night, her mother tells Anna some horrible news concerning her father, and the girl's life starts falling apart. Everything I've written is typed up on here, but I'm still working on writing more of this story too.
In Candyland: The True Story, I've taken four average teens, and landed them in a world completely unlike their own. Could it be the long-lost Candyland of their childhood board games? You've got to read it and decide for yourself. I've also added teen romances to throw a twist into their friendships. I know how the story will end, but I'm still working on transferring it from paper to her. I should have it finished by the end of the summer.
I'm also going to add a short story I entered into a PBS contest this last year. I'll get it on here as soon as I can, so be looking for it!

CactusJack on May 3Hi Katie-bug,
Welcome to the StoryWrite website!
My username is CactusJack but most people just call me Jack. Our site is a community of people who all share a common desire to write and hopefully become a published author sometime in the future. It is also a place to sharpen your writing skills and display your creativity while being in a fun environment!
You will notice a gold medal by your name. This is a free trial membership. This shows you what options you have if you were a paid member of Storywrite.com. After approximately three days the gold membership expires, so take the opportunity to see all that our site offers to you.
We have a new members group on the site. This group was set-up to show you how to post your work onto the site and to give you an understanding of how the reading/reviewing of your work actually happens. If you have not already done so, I would suggest you take a peek into this group and see how this process works. http://storywrite.com/group/info/New+members+group
Along with a new members group, we have a New Members Contest that is held every month. Come and check it out. The contest is open to any new member. http://storywrite.com/contest/4684
It is recommended that all new members to the site give serious consideration to joining a writing group as a method of assisting them in becoming an active member of the site. It is a great place to make new friends and get helpful critiques.
I have included below a few quick tips that have proven to be very helpful to new members in doing some of the basic functions necessary to get yourself set-up and running on the site. One in particular is fun things to do around Storywrite: http://storywrite.com/column/show/161
To find all the emoticons : http://storywrite.com/column/show/53
Chatterbox conduct: http://storywrite.com/column/show/57
Trolls or Cyberbullies: http://storywrite.com/column/show/151
Don’t forget to read the Storywrite Rules: http://storywrite.com/home/guide/rules
On the right hand side of the page is where you’ll find all you need to edit your stories, change your user info, change your picture, etc. Thank you for joining the StoryWrite web community. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Have fun and keep writing!
