Meh

(Not asking for people to comment... just tossing around the wonder of why this happens)

In the past day, I've had 46 views on stories... people reading the whole novel, chapter to chapter, then moving on to the next. Now, this is pretty cool, and about the usual numbers I get daily... but... that's all it is, reads. I haven't had a comment in a while, and I can think of only two or three I've received in the past month or so.

I'm not arrogant to believe that my writing is so good that there's nothing to fault... although it's true (snicker.... ahem). It doesn't overly bother me not to get comments, but it doesn't make me feel the greatest, either. During the last one I finished, I had no desire to actually post... 'no one was commenting, so why bother' was my thinking.

Still is, actually... but it won't stop me from writing.

The thing that keeps me posting is checking on who clicked on my story (gold member perk), and looking at their page to find out that they just joined the site... then, to see that they read the entire novel and went to the next and read. That is worth the annoyance of not having 46 comments a day on assorted stories. But.... sometimes people need that little pick-me-up when they come online to see that someone enjoyed a story enough to leave a half decent comment, be it praise, or pointing out errors. Just don't slam a later chapter on things that would be discussed in an earlier chapter (I had one comment once telling me that there was not enough character development... uh, it was chapter 14... pretty sure everyone was developed before then)
