Toasted Almond Snow Balls- Colorado Adventures Part One-

I will admit I was a little apprehensive about going at first. You know, flying can be scary sometimes. But as I stared down at the brightening world falling quickly away from my tiny window, I decided I could deal with it. If it doesn't kill you, as they say, it can only make you stronger.

Pathways in pillows of white*, we reached Dallas from Jacksonville with little (interruption). I found myself whirling around on a white train that went indoors, round and round with annoying little tunes that got stuck in your head the entire flight. But along I went quietly imagining the glittering snow that would soon fall on my waiting cheeks.

Dallas to Denver:

FINALLY! SNOW!!!!

Well there was some, but mostly it was dirty, but still snow all the same. I was satisfied for now.

Virgin Records. That's all I have to say. Well, it really isn't, but you know the mood I'm getting at. A musical haven. I was in my element. Endlessly getting lost in the shuffle of notes and melodies, craving harmony and polyphonic rhythm. I listened to Coldplay a lot.

A last minute concert ticket and a ride on a carriage behind a bike left me standing at the front doors of the Pepsi Center.
"Ohhhwhoa Neil, the way you make me feel in the rocky mountains..."* Also known as my pathetic attempt to write a song after being entranced by Neil Diamond for 2 hours.

Cheyenne Wyoming. I've wanted to go my whole life and I've finally been. It was different than I'd expected. Endlessly barren fields, with windmills blowing here and there among herds of fat buffalo. I don't think I even saw one horse. I guess I was just expecting George Strait and a rodeo to be in town. Still, it was one of my favorite days. It isn't everyday you get to go to the place you've been so many times in your dreams.

The car ride through Vail Pass and then on to Avon was a little rough. I'm not gonna lie. All I could think about were car accidents. Imagining each and every-way the car could slide or flip, I had worked out the best maneuvers to stay alive.

Sure sounds like you had a nice time, and a picturesque time as well. Love that phrase up there, pathways through pillows of clouds. Sing it to me sometime. You'll be wanting to go back there again pretty soon I bet. Tee hee!

    Love and hugs
