At first I was flattered then I was scared. Being a cog I’m good at, being a gear – well I don’t know. All this vacillation and indecision was sapping my energy until I cut an apple open on the horizontal rather than the usual vertical. I was rhasodizing to my grandson about finding hidden treasures even in the ordinary familiar everyday things. I cut his apple just that bit different and showed him stars, and proved my point -- so easy when your audience is just seven. 1
But then it was Whammy time for me – I have been looking at my current state of affairs with my cog eyes, not even allowing for the possibility of being just a little bit bigger in the scheme of things I might really make a contribution or conversely I may find once a cog always a cog. That would not be so bad either as in some things being defined really is setting a spirit free. I will undoubtedly find out, because not to give it a go well then I would be left with wondering and if – and those are shackles. Well I think I see stars too. I have a phone call to make today, onward and upward -- and away I go!2
“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily. "So it is." "And freezing." "Is it?" "Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

I reckon I am a gear, always shifting...slow to fast then slow again. We have the same name...why didn't I notice that? I notice everything. Lol.
I like your journal entries, and have yet to write a few of my own. I always enjoy reading your work. Thank you for sharing. -

Thanks
I noticed, but am envious -- I would have so preferred Martha without the "H" which I think is more descriptive of a savy, knows who she is woman. My name always made feel it belonged to someone else...ah such is life. Glad you liked the journal piece. I find the journal a good place not to dot the Is and cross the Ts, to be breezy, irreverent, and maybe rant a bit. They make sense to me in their moment but not always to others, but that I think that is what a journal is for -- to let it hang out a bit, or at least that is what I think! Ciao!

Ah Hah! God I love those moments. They thrill me as much as they did "way back when" I was just starting to figure things out. I’m not close to finishing the figuring out - not by a long shot - but getting a skylight when I expected the door to some secret room with some uglies in it – well that is just a really goodon Nov 1 12:00 AM, 600 words. → 2 comments, Add one?

I received this piece of mail a few days back. In the return address area it says, "God's Holy Spirit instructed us to loan you to start turning things around for you. So, here it is."
