life is sometimes a sinking sailboat...

 1

I REALLY shouldn't have taken Greek my first semester here. It's the hardest class I've ever taken and I'm extremely frustrated.2

 3

You see, I have a comprehensive Greek Midterm tomorrow that I'm not ready for. I wanted to drop this class, but because of scheduling conflicts, I can't. So it's either a miracle happens or I'm gonna have to fail and let my GPA take a hit.4

 5

Plus, I have so many other things on my mind. I have a roommate I can't stand. I have a dorm hall that won't be quiet, so that I can study. I know the world doesn't revolve around me, but especially when "quiet hours" come into effect, why do you have to continue being so loud?6

 7

And as much as I thought I could handle it, I hate being single. Especially when your school is predominately female and most of your friends are girls. Plus, every day it seems like, when I log onto Facebook, someone else has either got into a new relationship or they are engaged.8

 9

Even though I know I'm not, sometimes I feel lonely. I don't know why. I shouldn't. And plus, I'm sure there are some people who wouldn't mind if I was for the rest of my life and are probably laughing at me.10

 11

I guess I deserve that too.12

 13

And it's hard to get people to understand your life when they hate you and want nothing to do with you. Oh well...14

Awww... that was really sad... I don't hate you...
But is there some place quiet you can go to, to study?
Being alone does suck but it's better then being in a bad relationship.
Wait it out, it'll get better I promise.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM except with chemistry. Do you think you could re-take Greek and let that grade replace the F you might get? Or would you just rather not deal with that and just take a bunch of easy electives that'll raise your GPA? that's always an option.

I'm scared of having a roomate when I switch schools. I'm afraid I'll hate her. Are there places on campus you can go, like the library where you can request a private room? Or maybe like, a calming enviroment like a park or Starbucks?

When I was single I felt like you did. At first I was hurt and upset, then I was like "well I can do this." and then it was like, no.

We all feel lonely sometimes. It's normal. and no one wishes loneliness on anyone else. or at least we shouldn't.

I'd do the hug emoticon thing like you always do when you comment me but I have no idea how.

Do me a huge favor Chris... breathe in and breathe out we are not expected to know why things happen for a reason and we are all very human. So if you feel lonely, then you are allowed to feel that way hunni. I used to run around thinking that if I was a Christian I wasn't allowed to hurt or be angry or lonely. But we are all human, and if Jesus felt every emotion we as humans could feel wouldn't he have felt lonely? Greek lol I will pray for your midterm, but sometimes you may have to find a place to disappear so you can study. It reminds me of a message Joel Osteen preached on a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes our hut is on fire, and we can't put it out. That is when the fire melts our chains and we walk away without a scratch. Papa sometimes has to prune the leaves so that flowers can bloom! You are an amazing person. Coming from someone that has been in many failed relationships and some that have cost me dearly, never give up hope. He knows your heart my dear friend. I'm always here if you would like to talk! *hugs computer screen*

i know exactly what you're going through. i'm trying to stay as positive as possible but there are some things about college, and well life in general, that is hard.
And I fell deeply in love on February 23. That person won't even say hello to me. The last time he spoke to me all he told me was how terrible his life is and that he just wanted to throw up and cry. I think he knew how much that hurt me. Being single is the only thing I think is really healthy for me, but I've had the same thing happen. Everyone around me is falling in love; some getting engaged. Its really really hard

....but there is nothing we can do but pray. I haven't been praying nearly as much as I should; but when I do it helps. I'll keep you in my prayers. Stay strong and God Bless, brother

Familiar chat here in your journal...I have nephews and brothers who have taken Greek too, and I am sure it is not easy!
I had no idea there would be so many female students....I have heard of dorm life being noisy..My nephew changed his schedule and going to breakfast as one of the noisy guys above him kept him awake till 4 a.m....Where in the world are the dorm supervisors I ask?
Getting adjusted to life on campus must be hard...and with a roomate that is aggravating....a lesson in tolerance for both of you it seems...
Keep using your gifts, and accept your own self in God's eyes is the important thing right now... Rosemary

You primarily go to college to learn; that's what you pay for, anyway. So I understand that you want them to like you, but you could tell your RA or whoever that they are being troublesome after quiet hours. It could help. Or you could work in the library where there is guaranteed quiet.

Best of luck with your Greek midterm. I have midterms next week, so I can sympathize. I'll be praying for you.

    take a deep breath

    damn dorms
talk to your RA or CA or go to a quiet classroom, lecture hall, or library
    good luck on your midterm.

"I'm sure there are some people who wouldn't mind if I was for the rest of my life and are probably laughing at me." I would never laugh at you

    • Thanks

And I'm not the type of person to "tattle-tell". Especially since these guys are my new friends and I haven't known them very long, I don't want to start anything or have people not like me. Yeah, I know that's not important, but I would rather not have conflict with people.

yeah I def know what you mean; I had the same issue last year during finals week, so I slept in the evening and studied in the wee hours of the morning when everyone else had fallen asleep

  •   1 So, I was reminded of how precious life is after viewing a tribute video dedicated to a young girl who had passed away in 2008. After I wiped my tears, I started really thinking about how lives can be cut so short, but yet, we treat our own as if it will never end. 2 Something that God place on my
