We don't appreciate trees as much as they deserve to be appreciated. They purify where we taint. Their branches reach to the sky as if they're clamoring for some kind of reprieve from their fate, while their brethren are cut down for our own purposes. 1
Their roots reach into the artificial concrete wall and slowly, patiently, break it apart.2
Nature will outlive man.
And that's the way it should be.
