All to soon the hands of time move swiftly on and the time that once seemed a distance away has now been and gone, having slipped silently away into the archives of my special memories there to sleep forever until a single thought resussitates there existence, that was "the week that was" and oh boy what a time we all had.My once silent and peaceful home errupted as one by one my children came home, bringing with them the next generation of my family tree.Noise, laughter, excitement all captured for eternity within the foundations of my home, voices, conversations, the precious sounds of children playing all being absorbed into the walls and ready at any given time to release itself back into the atmosphere and surround me with the warmth of memories passed to keep me company when nights offer nothing more than silence. So distanced from each other we all are and the miles take away the precious moments that we might have shared together building and forming, loving an giving to each other on our journey's through life, seeking strength and support from each other in times of trouble, but tonight I am thankfull that for one week in one lifetime we were privelidged to all be together around one table sharing the one most important thing this life has to offer..Love....

If only walls could talk Mal.... every sound uttered, every look exchanged, every touch will forever be within those four walls in your home!! Grandchildren are truly a blessing, we remember every precious moment, that look in the eyes so full of laughter, of a moments sadness, when just a comforting touch and a special hug will always wipe away anything that hurts a child.... that never goes away Mal and we never ever forget any of it. I know for sure you will have made the ,every moment you shared together... those moments will have wrapped themselves tightly around you and cemented that most precious bond forever once again.
Poor Monty Man has had a right kicking by a mare, his flanks are in an awful mess poor lad... he has blood blisters (only way to describe it) down both flanks covering the whole area. The vet said it needed draining but decided against that idea and gave him antibiotics instead. Of course Hayley can't ride him until hes healed and she was so very upset when she saw the state of him. The mare was in heat but Monty wasn't bothering her, she just took it into her head she wanted her own space and Monty got the worst of it. Hayley has now said the mare has to go back into her own field... she hates being on her own and none of the others would have her in with their horses, so Hayley, being a softie where animals are concerned said she could go in with Monty. She has now said Goochie (the mare) has to go back into her own field. So at the moment Monty is stabled until his wounds heal, Hayley is going to turn him out this morning hopefully for a bit. I am hopefully going down in the next couple of weeks, the estate agent will show people around the house whilst I am away.
I hope your lot are doing ok my dear friend. Megga hugs Katie xxx -

Katie, I am so sorry about Mr Mont. It sounds as though she really gave him a pasting. The blood blisters sound like Heamatoma's, they are blood clots that form under the skin after and injury.Keep an eye on those love. Can imagine how you're both feeling it sounds horrendous. We had to share a field once with a mare that was like that and in the end the farmer asked her to leave. Have you claimed your vet bill off her insurance and compensation for loss of use and injury. Her insurance should cover her for public liability.Poor Mr Mont I bet he was terrified.Give him a big squidge fro me Katie and lots of mints of course. I am finishing with the horses love, and Gypsy is up for sale so I now take up the search for the right home for her. I won't let her go until I'm completely satisfied she will be safe, 45 years of twice a day seven days a week have finally come to an end for me.Still I have beccas horses and can get involved with all she does. Our gang are all fine and Rosie is in foal to Warlord a beautiful coloured stallion. You must Google him Katie he's gorge.we've just finished JimBobs first in hand show today and he was a star. Reserve champ and second in the younstock class. Soooo very proud of the chap. We backed him two months ago and he is going so well. Never bats an eyelid at anything. Are you off to hayley's permanently now love? OOOH I am so jealous. You have the most wonderful life and PLEASE keep in touch. I shall be down there myself on the 27th july for a week. God bless love and keep me informed about my special man. Give Hayley my love and a hug too... Be safe Katie...mal

How utterly lovely. The noise and laughter of the children does stay within the walls and cupboards of a house and wait for a time when memory insist they be heard again. Then they are there. Thank you for sharing 'the week that was', it is quite beautifu.

Silent reflections wander aimlessly across my mind as yet another year prepares to slip slide its way into the passing of time. Memories resurface and with them come tears for what once was and is no more. Sullen grey clouds adorn the skies and heavy the air that hangs on this Autumn morning. Late night radio, early morning radio, anytime of the day radio.I guess this should just about sum up for you how far my appreciation of John Denver and his life changing music goes. Me? Stone the crows! Where does the time go? It only seems like yesterday that I was planning this trip to Cornwall, and now in a little over 24 hours I shall be on my way once more . Well folks another weekend has just flown by and hardly a thing done again.I guess I figure that these are the days in my life now where I willingly surrender to my own will and not to a list of chores or a two hour shopping trip."What doesn't get done gets left" my gran used to say , and do you know what, she was soon Jul 13 4:30 PM 2009, 200 words. → 6 comments, Add one?
