This is random, I know, but I'm pretty sure everyone, whether or not they realize it, has role models. Friends, family, famous people, people you barely know... all those people can really influence you, make you want to make yourself a better person, or at least make you want to expand your horizons.1
Here are mine for various things.2
Kristen Stewart for acting: I watched The Messengers the other night and she was just so excellent in it. She plays an awkward teenager well, and even just the way she delivers lines... she's great.3
Sarah Dessen for character voice in writing: Sarah Dessen has a way of making her characters come off the page as if they were real people... reading This Lullaby or Lock and Key, the characters feel like real people that I could meet in everyday life.4
Stephenie Meyer for storytelling: Obviously the woman is doing something right if she can intrigue readers with four books, a whole mess of characters and mythology tied in. And she got the idea for Twilight from a simple dream... look at it now.5
Stephen King for chill factor: I wish I had a demented enough mind to write like this man. He's brilliant and can literally give me goosebumps, which I don't find too much.6
Nikki Reed for badassness/acting/roles: The girl is in great movies, however indie they may be. She seems to always be typecast as the same type character, mostly because she's one of the only ones with the guts to play the sexy bitch who will stab you in the back. She's a fabulous actress and is absolutely stunning, too. What I wouldn't give to look like her once in a while!7
Beyonce Knowles for her classiness: Sure, she wears revealing outfits, but when I watch her, I don't think SKANK! She's an amazing singer, whether or not you like her music, and you never see her in the tabloids for drunk driving or drug use or whatever. She married her man and lives her life respectfully and I admire that about her.8
Taylor Swift for her songwriting/sweetness: She's just so dern cutesy! Her songs are so sweet and real, and she seems like a really down to earth person.9
Bridget Marquardt for her enthusiasm/positive attitude: Never before have I seen a girl smile so much and be completely genuine the entire time.10
Valary DiBenedetto for just being all around cool: Because she is what made my favorite band who they are and worked her ass off to get them a head start, whether it was managing them or mothering them or walking around in the hot sun handing out demo CDs to kids who looked like they might like them, and for sticking with the band through thick and thin.11

And now I'll shut up. I know, that was super random.

There comes a time in your life when you just need to weed through things and get rid of them because all they can do is hold you back. 1 I've been cleaning out my room, getting rid of high school papers, old magazines, old crap stories (though I keep a lot of them to remind me, when I'm getting all down on my wron Aug 2 4:39 AM, In Bitter, Contemplative, First person, Life, Love, Nonfiction, Personal. 400 words. → Make first comment?
