So a lot has gone on since I last blogged in February.
My track team was second in the conference this year. We were supposed to win, but we got a few tough breaks in some of the events. Our discus throwers had a bad day on Day 1 of the meet, and one of our sprinters false started in the 100 prelims and then didn't even try in the 200 prelims. Even so, we didn't loose by much and we were even winning the meet until the 3,000m steeplechase. The team that beat us has won for the past 17 years or so. They may have lucked out this year, but they should watch their backs. They won't be so lucky next year.
On the bright side, our coach was Women's Coach of the Year! And the coach of the other team didn't get that recognition in either women's or men's for the first time in his coaching career pretty much. I don't know how true that statement is, but for as long as I can remember he's held one of those two titles.
Choir and Band Tours went really well! Band Tour was more fun than Choir Tour was this year, I have to say. The people in band are so different and more relaxed. Band Tour is so laid back- there's no rush, no hurry, no one getting sick from stress. That and our band director's wife bought us all ice cream twice on the trip. Something like that would never happen on choir tour. Ever.
Here's something completley random that happened. On Chior Tour, my friend Emily and I stayed with this eccentric woman who likes to travel the world a lot. When we went on Band Tour, Emily and I were housemates again for one city. Our host in that city was the eccentric traveler's twin sister! Small world.
Other than that, I've just been getting ready for finals and eventually going home. But I won't be home for long. My summer employment calls me to Missouri and I won't have much internet access, if any. To many, that would sound like a huge bummer, but I'll survive. I'll just have to write everything out old school style- in a notebook. It's only for six weeks. Upon my arrival home I have a week of rest before beginning training with my cross country team. I'm excited to see where the season goes!
Over and Out

So yesterday was my birthday. And it was pretty much amazing, too! Even with my dad losing his job earlier this week, my parents managed to actually remember my birthday this year. For the past several years my birthday has gone virtually unnoticed in their world. Perhaps the layoff helped them get their priori
