I just finished reading 'New Moon' and I have to say it kept me on the edge of my seat begging for a little more everytime I turned the page.
As a guy my first response was to slug the book across the room, but then I noticed the girls reading it at my school and decided that I might have a step up on the other guys if I had a conversation started, hence I began reading the book.
But afterwards, I just couldn't put it down. 'New Moon' is the sequel to 'Twilight' by Stephenie Meyer about a lovesick mortal human and her vampire lover. The main character, Bella, goes through a lot to demonstrate her love for strange and uncanny lover. It really is interesting, and I can't wait to get started reading the third book.
But it got me thinking. We are coming up on a new year- 2009. The book has some symbolism. The 'New Moon' is like the new 'Bella' coming out of her cave, and I think that is what I would like my news years resolution to be. You can't be what you want to be unless you let yourself out, let yourself go. Once you do, the freedom and liberation is as limitless as the sky.
I believe that's what some of the kids at my high school should understand. If you spend too much time pretending to be someone your not, then you turn into that person. They should learn to let go and be themselves, maybe even try something new.
Well, I know that was kind of a lot of thoughts for one of entry, but I sure am glad to have that out. . .
