  1. Can I delete my contest?

    As long as there are no entries to your contest, you can delete it.

    • Start on the page for the contest you want to deelte.
    • Choose edit under Editor Options
    • Choose delete under Local Navigation
  2. How can I disqualify an entry?

    You can remove any story from your contest, and send a note to the user about why.

    • Start on the page for your contest
    • Click on the title of the story that you want to delete
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the story, you will see "An entry in the contest".
    • Click Remove from contest
    • A window will pop up asking for the reason you are removing it. This will be sent to the owner of the story.

  3. How do I choose a winner for my contest?


    • Start on your contest page
    • Click Judge contest under Editor Options
    • To add stories to your finalists list:
      • Click the title of a story entered in the contest
      • Below the text of the story, click Add to finalists list under An entry in the contest. The link will change to 'Added'.

    • To arrange the finalists list
      • Click and hold on a story in the list and drag it to a new position above or below other stories.
      • If nothing happens when you drag, try refreshing the screen with F5, or make sure you are using a supported web browser
      • Click 'Reorder finalists'
      • Any users who are collaborating with you on this contest can do this as well.

    • To choose the final winners of the contest
      • Make sure the stories are in the order you want them in. Gold first, then Silver, then Bronze, then Honorable mentions.
      • Click Complete Contest. A section will open up explaining what will happen.
      • Enter final notes for the contest, thanking people for entering, which parts were hard to judge, etc.
      • Click End Contest and the prizes will be awarded and the contest closed.
  4. My contest doesn't have enough entries, and it has closed. What can I do?

    As long as you haven't chosen a winner yet, you can edit it to re-open it.

    • Start on the page for the contest you want to keep open longer
    • Choose edit under Editor Options
    • Update the date to be in the future
    • Make sure the "Close automatically after X entries" is more than the current entries on the contest
    • Consider updating the title or description to something more attractive to story writers
    • Consider raising the point values of the awards
    • Click Submit Contest at the bottom of the page.
    • Your contest will now be open to new entries again.
