Don't you see anyone giving comments just because they want to help? Sure, comments give and let you receive points, but what are comments actually for? To help a writer excel in their writing through feedback, and to allow the comment giver to see a different style. So basically -- we don't copy, but we learn from the mistakes of others and our own.
The only thing that you have to do is give appreciative feedback on what a writer could change, and at the same time, listen to your own peers who will be commenting on your work. In that way, you'll learn to write better and yeah... improve.
