Hulloh!
I'm a 19 year old uni student, hailing from the ever sunny but ever pricey Sydney, Australia. (Cue all the shrimp-on-the-barbie jokes).
I entertain ideas of being a writer but I battle with constant writer's block. Or laziness. Whatever you prefer. I've been writing since the age of 11 and I'm too critical with my work but that's OK.
I love, love books and music and movies and TV shows. They fuel my creativity. A book made into a movie/TV series with some epic soundtrack is my idea of perfect (if it's done well). Like most children of the 90s/00s Harry Potter pretty much changed my life forever.
I speak too little and my thoughts move too fast
As a Gen Y, big fan of emoticons - not so much chat speak abbreviations. Especially in books. I also don't know how I feel about the whole Kindle thing. And the whole aspiring writers being discovered via the internet business? I don't know about that either. I mean, yeah it's great that we don't have to rely on elusive publishers and agents who read hundreds of manuscripts a week. We get to bypass that whole process completely. But the resulting QUALITY? Ummm. Is all I can say.
Okayy enough musings about social/cultural issues! Let's skip to the fun facts:
I was born on the 6th of June. The whole 6/6/06 thing was like an American-Halloween-I-never-get-to-experience mixed with my birthday all into one. My friends really thought I was going to be the devil spawn. I wasn't too worried though, Supernatural always taught me that a ring of salt will give me protection
I'm a Tumblr addict.
Do not talk to me during the mornings. My brain needs time to reactivate and process that I have another whole day of classes or work, or worse - interning. I do not want to listen to you make small chitchat about how your night was and other unnecessary morning topics because, frankly, I do not care. (At that point. But by 10am, feel free to blabber away).
I love languages. I'm fluent in two and currently on my way to being fluent in francaise. I also want to learn Spanish and Russian.
I have a messed up family life. Just don't expect me to sit around wallowing in my misery and complain about how unfair life is.
The sound of rain is my favourite sound in the world. It's somehow familiar, somehow soothing all at once.
My taste in music can be summed up in one word: bands. Mayday Parade, The Maine, Bullet for My Valentine, Yellowcard, Three Days Grace, All Time Low, The Used, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Evanescence.... But I also love Lady Gaga and I also listen to SOME Justin Bieber (DON'T judge haha).
I spend most of my life in the fandoms of various TV shows. Yeah, I'm THAT person.
My writing goal is to write a YA novel that runs deeper than the usual paranormal,love triangle, epic battle tropes. I don't know if I'll ever succeed, but I'm hell bent on doing it.
